what else changed?
I’m engaged. Wedding planning is time-consuming.
I’m sleeping at night regularly for the first time in months.
Angst has been significantly reduced.
Everyone at work loves me right now on my new shift and I signed a contract for another two years and more money. New management is on the way in and it will get interesting.
I live in interesting times.

Fans of Major League Soccer's New York City FC say they are "outraged" by Frank Lampard's decision to stay at Manchester City.
Hey MLS & Garber: stop bitching at Klinsmann and fix this. This does more damage to the league than the national team coach's expressed preference for players to develop in Europe.
UEFA: shut this shit down for what it is: a way around Financial Fair Play.

Let's get two things straight out of the gate:
Jurgen Klinsmann has every right to call out MLS as maybe not the best moves for his best players as far as elite competition goes -- Michael Bradley & Clint Dempsey. (Particularly the former, because Toronto FC has done everything but play him in his best position regularly, which is box-to-box or holding. He's not an ACM. To be fair, Klinsmann also made this mistake in the World Cup because of Jozy Altidore's injury.) It's good because they're playing regularly and they bring attention to the domestic club game, but it's not good for elite American players either in or near the end of their prime.
Don Garber has every right to defend the league he runs because bringing guys like Bradley & Dempsey back to MLS is better for the development of the league. He also has a fair point regarding Landon Donovan, although it's to Garber's benefit to ignore that Donovan was out of shape and not playing well when the final cuts were made.  Where Garber is entirely wrong is expressing a sentiment that seems to imply that Klinsmann's role as head coach of the USMNT and USSF technical director requires him to support the league without criticism.
News flash: national team coaches all over the world take swipes at their country's club teams/franchises and sometimes their individual coaches all the time. Please see Roy Hodgson's current foot-in-mouth regarding Liverpool's Raheem Sterling on top of the injury to Daniel Sturridge. I bet he and Brendan Rodgers aren't best buds right now.
Unfortunately, Klinsmann is more correct than Garber, and anyone who watches soccer, both domestic and foreign, knows it right now. I love MLS. I'm happy it's doing well. MLS can get there and is making strides. Look how many of the players in the World Cup came from MLS.  But American players need to make every effort to discover their levels in Europe. Jozy Altidore clearly made a mistake leaving Holland, but he could still be useful back in the Eredivisie or Ligue 1 -- Nantes might be perfect for him. The young teens and early-20somethings in MLS need to make moves abroad. DeAndre Yedlin will be a useful test case. Landon Donovan is a legend and more power to him determining his career for himself, but let's not shit ourselves. He was a fabulous servant for MLS and the USMNT, but he failed tests at the higher echelons of the sport.
This didn't need to be public, on either Klinsmann or Garber's part. This is where Sunil Gulati should step in, sit down with both of them, and work out a detente.

Does Mario play today? Can he?
No. Official registration would have had to been completed by either Friday or Saturday for a Monday match, I believe.

This is how decades of working the refs to be "fair" to bigots works.
It certainly helps that opting for "fairness" for dead black boys is always a default whereas if he was white, no ill would be spoken of him.

Screen shot from a New York Times article.
No angel.
When I was 18, I was no angel. Hell, when I was 15, 16, 17, I was no angel. When I was 13, I stole change out of cars that were parked in the church lot for bingo night. By 14 I was smoking pot every day. I got caught shoplifting at Korvette’s and spent an hour being interrogated by security before they called my mother to pick me up. I cut holes in the pockets of my winter parka to make it easier to steal candy from 7-11. I sold joints to my fellow classmates at Holy Trinity High School. I had rough patches. I cut out of school to drink alcohol. I listened to angry and vulgar punk rock. I often got into fights with kids from the neighboring town.
So all those times when Officer Goldberg stopped me as I walking down the street and asked where I was going and what I was doing, he would be justified in shooting me because I was a troubled kid with a questionable past?
See, all those things were not relevant. Because Officer Goldberg didn’t know any of those things about me beforehand. And even if he did, they had no relevance on the fact that I happened to be walking down the street on any given evening.
Someone’s history does not always define their present. Being a “troubled” kid who once climbed over a baby gate or wrote on the walls in their house with pencils does not mean one deserves to die in a hail of bullets at the hand of a police officer. And it’s odious for anyone to imply as such, especially in a major newspaper on the day of the dead boy’s funeral.
The media suddenly seems to be in bed with the Ferguson police, posthumously trying Michael Brown for the crime of being young and black while walking in the street, bringing his past into the present. Calling him “no angel” has big implications, none of them good.
We’re all “no angels” in one way or another. No one is perfect. No one has a past clear of any transgressions, even the smallest ones. No one should have to carry the burden of their past with them when they’re doing nothing more dangerous than walking down a street. Because Darren Wilson knew nothing about Michael Brown when he confronted him. When he killed him.
And we shouldn’t be learning these things about him now, like this. It’s unfair.

MLS's allocation policy continues to be "let's make it up as we go along, fuck all the loyal fans of other clubs." At this rate, let's just go full NASL on salary caps and signing rules, because at least that's honest. It could mean the end of the league, but it would be at least be legitimate and transparent.
