Hello Everyone!

My name is Sadi Bear. I am the human's best friend in the whole world. I am the result of her very first visit to Build A Bear Workshop, ever, and one of the happiest memories she's ever made (her words, not mine). When my human was a human cub, she wanted to go to Build A Bear so much but she couldn't go because her mother was always working just so they could survive. When she told her husband this, he took her on a surprise visit for the very first time and she picked me out of everyone there! I was absolutely thrilled as anyone would be, being chosen out of hundreds of bears and all.

Anyway, now I live out my days as an emotional support bear and best friend to my favorite human and live amongst so many other plushie friends that there is never a dull moment. I love my life and I'm so glad we found each other at Build A Bear Workshop. I am so happy and thankful to be built into this world and loved just like family. It's been a great 2 years so far and pretty soon it'll be 3 that I've been here with my person.

Well, I just wanted to introduce myself as there will be so many adventures to post in the future! I can't wait to share more of my experiences as an emotional support bear and best friend and I can't wait to meet all of you out here online!

Hello, My name is Maggie Monster. I came from a land far away from this one called Palloni, where I lived deep in the mountains and studied for 300 years how to become a magical companion to a human. In my land there is a reflection pool behind the sacred waterfalls that will call to us monsters and show us the human we are to be assigned to. We observe them in the reflection pool, learning everything we can about them, and when the water turns bright white, we step through it, like a portal, into the world of the humans.

I watched my human companion for 34 years before the pool turned white and I was able to go through to be with her. I am here to be her companion, friend, advisor, cup of cheer, magical help, and anything else that a monster can do to help a human friend. Because the magic of the two worlds chooses each monster and human pair, there is a perfect bond between them when they meet. So when I arrived, my human and I instantly felt connected. It was everything the elder monsters said it would be and more. (The reason the elder monsters know what it's like is because when a monster's human passes away, we go back to the mountains in Palloni and wait until we are called again by the reflection pool. The elders have companioned many humans for many life times and once they retire they become the teachers of our academy that guides us into becoming the perfect magical companions).

This is my first day with my companion. We rode in the magic wheel box all the way to another village where we had dinner with some of my person's mate's friends, we went to a celebration of 16 years of life for one of her relatives, and I tried a new liquid that tastes better than any of our beverages at home. It is named after a Doctor and tastes sweeter than our finest honey in the mountains. It also nibbles the insides of your mouth when it goes in and I enjoy that very much.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to a place where people gather in one location and purchase wares and foods for their homes. I am excited to see this in person for the first time and try the foods I've watched the humans eat in the reflection pool for so many years. I already tried one of their dishes today at dinner, a french fry! Can you believe it? Me, Maggie Monster of Palloni truly enjoying an entire french fry? I never dreamed the day would come true for me. We ate them together and my mouth dazzled with flavor.

Well, so long friends, it was great to be able to share my experience with you. It was a perfect first day.

The universe made a skin.

It stuffed it full of fluff, the ability to think, the ability to feel, the yearning to love.

The universe crafted a small stuffed toy.

And then it plucked it from the warmth of a mother who didn't want it, tossing it into a dusty drawer of knives and broken glass.

I tried to love the knives and the broken bottles, the scissors and the needles.

I thought, hoped, one day I'd bump up against something soft in that drawer.

But eventually I'll just be pulled out in shreds, void of stuffing and thrown in the trash.

But, hey, at least there's the trash to look forward to and one day I'll get out of this drawer.

I will lose track of time. I don’t even know when the point I start spacing out begins. One second it’s 1:00 pm, I’m walking through the kitchen, and the next second it’s 2:30 pm and I haven’t moved from that spot; however during that time period I lived an alternative life, wondered about 150 things, made up names for 6 more kids I’ll never have and imagined what it would be like to be a kitchen table.
