The Lessons in Puzzles
I don’t read books as often anymore—sometimes none at all for a long period of time—but my reading and writing skills still improve everyday, and I continue to learn using different sources of media. Even things that may seem too ridiculous or unrealistic to expand my knowledge still contribute to me learning constantly.

Take the Saw movies for example. You might watch the movies and just see someone who kidnaps people because he thinks he’s teaching them a lesson by having them fight for their lives. However, when I watch them, I become more cautious of what I do because bad actions have consequences. Those consequences may not be as drastic as someone kidnapping you and forcing you to complete a seemingly impossible task to survive, but it is still important to put out positivity for the sake of yourself and others around you.

Over the years, no matter how I’m feeling, I like to open up a blank page (or my notes app) and just write whatever comes to mind. I picked up on this habit from an old english teacher, when she would give us these topics and who always said “let your mind wonder as far as this topic takes you” Over time she would stop giving topics and gave us words or phrases until we did not need them no more and could just write about anything in that given time. Check out the website!

Learning helps you to escape the close-minded way of thinking, it allows you to look at the bigger picture and look at things from a new perspective.

I read They Both Die At The End in elementary school, and We Were Liars this summer. Both stick out to me through the character and plot development. These are great books to pick up and read on your free time.

Reading for homework was definitely not fun, but advancing to the next color level always made me excited! The highest level I reached was ‘purple’  and going home to tell my family was my greatest achievement at the time. 😂

Just a throwback to some of my childhood favorites. I remember going to the book fair and picking these up excited to take them home!
