Starting off the week with a bang! The original "The Willful Child" Grimm's story ends with the arm retreating back into the earth after being struck by the mother, the child "finally being at rest".

This version goes a little differently. Because as we all know, repression does not work >:)

Janus - Avatar of the Spiral & the Web

The fear of madness, that the world you know is wrong, that your mind is lying to you. Fear of deception, lying, deceiving of the mind and senses. The fear of being forced to do things against one's own will, of being manipulated.

Next for the Sides as TMA Fear avatars series, our lovely liar Janus!

I had a lot of fun designing this form for him. The spiral-mouth-eye is my favourite part, he can speak through any part of it, often multiple at once, his voice rippling over itself. Also when Janus is wearing his gloves, they make his hands appear completely normal, and it's when they're taken off that their true elongated forms are shown.

For @darksideweeks's anxceitmus week! One of the bonus prompts was just too good for me not to do a bit of a saucy thing here. Also you better fucking believe that I'm going to be drawing Virgil and Janus with their respective spider-bite and snake-bite piercings from now on, they look damn good with them.

Kintsugi - As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

For @darksideweeks's anxceitmus week! One of the bonus prompts was Kintsugi and this imagery immediately came to mind.

Something I am so weak for is the thought of the rift between Virgil and the others being filled, things cannot go back to how they were, but it doesn't mean they can't be there for each other again.

Remus made himself and his best friends ever matching friendship bracelets!

For @darksideweeks's prompt "Childhood Friends".

Coming up with ideas of what Janus and Remus wore as kids was hard at first before I started looking through a list of Disney Villains and decided to base Janus' outfit off of Honest John from Pinocchio and Remus' off of the King of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

Of course Virgil was a good boy and got an oversized hoodie<3

For @darksideweeks's anxceitmus week! One of the bonus prompts was Halloween and so BAM! Dork sides as jack o' lanterns!
