Working on my Knuckles design for my AU! Design notes below the cut

His quills have darker and lighter stripes, I know that in canon those are paint, but in my AU it is something that they develop as they age! Similar to how dalmatians develop their spots as they age.

Above his nose he has hard scales, I got this idea from how real life echidnas have 'beaks', but I figure that in the sonic universe echidnas would have something similar on their noses, to make breaking them less common.

The white stripes on their quills give an estimate of their ages, for example an echidna in its 30s would have 3 stripes, whereas Knuckles is 16-17 in my AU, so he has one stripe and is developing another.

FRRR I love shipping don't get me wrong, but sometimes it is just. Not needed at all. The media can be enjoyed without the main character fucking. That isn't smth that is necessary everywhere.

I think there's some medias that you just cannot meaningfully engage with if your main priority is shipping

Sonic cinematic universe headcanons!!! (Will be updated as I gather more<3)

Sonic often forgets to take off his shoes after going for runs, and gets the house all messy with dirt/mud, because of this he is well versed in the ways of using a mop.

The Wachowskis go out every weekends to play baseball and get ice cream.

Tom has tried to take Tails fishing before, but every time Tails ends up making some sort of device to catch the fish easier, so now Tom has stopped trying with him. Knuckles however, does enjoy fishing, and after lots of trial and error on teaching him how to safely and correctly catch fish, he now goes with Tom whenever the two like.

Knuckles is Maddy's favorite kid, so even though he has wrecked the house multiple times she still loves spending time with him. She has taught him to flip pancakes, do yoga, and much more.

Tails is banned from flying in the house, because the one time he tried he got caught in the ceiling fan.

Sonic walks Ozzy every day, and Ozzy sleeps on his bed at night.

Though most nights Tails ends up in the same bed too, and more often than not Knuckles wakes up halfway through the night and also gets in the same bed as the others, causing giant cuddle puddles (and a few quills accidentally in the wrong place)

Knuckles goes out to lunch with Wade once a week, and always gets grapes. This is because he isn't allowed them in the house anymore after Ozzy almost stole a whole bunch of them from him when he wasn't looking, so now they are a special treat.

One time they all went to a zoo and saw their earthly counterparts, Sonic and Knuckles were not in any way impressed, but Tails loves earth foxes, though he was surprised to find that they look so similar to Ozzy.

Sonic showed Tails and Knuckles the internet, and while Knuckles doesn't care for the internet and very much prefers simply watching bad romcoms, soap operas, and dramas with Maddy, Tails LOVES the internet. He mainly just researches things that fascinate him though, while Sonic has almost every social media app downloaded (he is active daily on them all) and has at least 200 funny cat videos downloaded.

Sonic needs new phones fairly often, because when he runs he drops them and they crack. Tails does not have a phone, but he made himself a tablet, and he uses Sonic's computer. Knuckles has a phone but he only uses it when his parents or Wade call him. Its screen is terribly cracked and its a miracle it still works.

I have more in my head and I will add them as I remember them!! This is mainly for fics I myself am writing, but anyone can use them!!

Ok so I just watched the Knuckles miniseries (I know its been out for a while now- but I managed to stay mainly spoiler-free until now, because before I didn't have the proper streaming services to watch it) and I've got some things to say about it.

Spoilers for the show ahead if you haven't watched it yet.

Ok so, I may have been misinterpreting it (social skills go brr) but I am kind of weirded out by Wade's mom flirting with / talking suggestively about Knuckles. I mean, he's a kid. I believe either 16 or 17, and Wade's mom is at least in her 50s. I know they never stated his age to her, but it still feels weird that they allowed that to be in the show.

I REALLY love how obsessed with grapes Knuckles is. Its barely shown in the second movie (only being mentioned at the end scene) but I love him just obsessing over them and wanting them with every meal. This is barely anything big, I just find it adorable that he loves them so much.

The ending kind of pissed me off, not just the lack of coherence to the rest of the cinematic series, but also the fact that it leaves so many unanswered questions that I doubt will be answered in the third movie. Did the people who used to work with/for Eggman continue making his robots? If not, then why was one on the table in that one scene? Are Wade and his family Knuckles new family? Or is that still the Wachowskis? Maybe both? Did Maddy, Sonic, and Tails ever go looking for Knuckles in the 3-4 days he was missing when he was meant to be grounded? Did Tom ever find out about any of it after he came back from the trip he was on?

I could go on for ages lmao.

All in all though, I really loved the series, plot holes, loose ends, and all. It made me like the character Knuckles is made to be in the cinematic universe a lot more than I did before, and now he might actually be my favorite after Sonic (though he will most likely be bumped to third after the third movie comes out later this month, I am a major Shadow simply 😔💔) but it made his character so much nicer, and it gave him more personality, I feel.

But I do desperately need there to be some Knuckles and Wade interaction for the third movie to be good. The series made me love the two of them too much.

Im gonna be honest, yesterdays episode of wildlife really had me in the feels.

Grian was without Skizz and Mumbo for such a short amount of time, and yet he had started having 'conversations' with their graves. He makes it so that he can see them again, to get back on lost time and to apologize for ultimately being the cause of their deaths, but when they come back they aren't the same.

He knew they wouldn't be the same, but he tried to steal them back from death anyways, because he missed them just that much. And he did, he stole Cleo's power and brought them back for himself, but they still weren't the same. They never are, after death. Even if brought back.

Instead of having his lost friends back he got shells of them, he got small, broken pieces of them, in rotted and broken bodies. And so he killed them, over and over, but they kept coming back. So he killed them again. All he wanted was his friends back, but instead he had to suffer through seeing them, dead and wrong, barely alive, and through killing them. They had to kill him, too, and even though they were zombies, and they were different from before, I doubt they wanted to.
