fun things you can do when you have an f/o!

print out pictures of them to hang up on your wall!

if they wear jewelry, make it!

make stickers of them! (there's tutorials on youtube of how to make stickers at home, or, you can get sticker paper on amazon for pretty cheap, mine was $6!)

if you do make stickers, put them on your sketchbook, journal, laptop, or whatever you feel like putting them on!

make a google slides presentation on them! alternatively, you could also write an essay about them.

if they don't have a canonical style of handwriting, find or try to write in a way they would write!

if they do, try making your own font of their handwriting that you can download and use. or, try to learn how to write similarly to them, maybe write letters to yourself from their perspective.

if they have a birthday or there's a holiday coming up (irl or canonical), make a card for them!

make them in the sims, or some other character creation making game. or, make a minecraft skin of them.

draw them as a character from another source. for example, draw them as a pony from mlp, or draw them as a character from smiling friends!

make a playlist of youtube videos you'd think they'd enjoy watching, and perhaps watch them again and pretend like you're watching them with your f/o.

make food they canonically like, or you'd think they'd like!

make a tier list as if they were making it! like a fruit tier list, for example.

Shout-out to self shippers with "scary" disorders, and I'm talking about the really stigmatized ones. Shout-out to self shippers with "bad" and "scary" symptoms. Shout-out to self shippers who are trying to be good and still do bad things because of their disorder.

Shout-out to schizospec self shippers, shout-out to system self shippers, shout-out to cluster b self shippers, shout-out to low empathy self shippers and shout-out to everyone else who not only has to deal with their mental health issues but also the fact that nobody else understands. And to those who are deemed crazy or evil.

Your f/o loves you, actually, and despite how many times you fall into tendencies that are "too much" for anyone else; they will always love you. No matter how many people call you evil, they will still love you and they will know there's a part of you that wants to be good.

And you know what? If there's no part of you that wants to be good and you're still doing your best to remain kind despite your nature, I see you, and your f/o does too. And they still love you, they always will.

Your F/O who is hated or generally bashed in their source material/fandom is forever amazed at your strength to wade through the fog and see them in a different light. Perhaps they did something deserving of it, or not- it doesn't matter to you. You saw them and you KNEW that they were someone worth loving in whatever way you do.

In some way, you're reminding them to love themselves, through the love you give them.

Reminder that it’s okay to selfship/love characters you disagree with. The joy of fiction is that your morals don’t have to align with theirs 100%— part of the love is knowing, at the end of the day, they’re a character, not an evidence source to testify for your real life morality and opinions. Fiction was made to explore that which should not be condoned in real life.

i know some ppl use the fact that their f/o is murderous/violent for like? angst fuel? like them threatening to kill someone who wronged you but i have an inability to take anything seriously so in my brain im just grabbing those types of f/os by the back of the collar and dragging them away while they try to bite someone who cut me off on the sidewalk
