NEW BRAND LOGO LETā€™S GOOOO. I really wanted to get some sort of official text/logo that I can use on my socials and also as a watermark on my art possibly, so I commissioned the same guy who designed my book cover title text and I am BEYOND happy with it. He does such an amazing job every time omg šŸ˜šŸ«¶

Happy Halloween you spooky mfs
šŸ•øšŸŽƒšŸ•·
I told myself I only had the time and motivation to do a quick doodle for Halloween, which turned into me redrawing Katrinaā€™s costume from last year, which then led to me dressing up the rest of the main gang as well so youā€™re welcome. Idk how I did it so fast šŸ’€

Iā€™ve had major Blade Runner brain rot recently so I made this short animatic at 3 am and then threw an edit in there. Iā€™m sorry that the movie clips keep changing screen size. I only had access to YouTube clips and they were all inconsistent šŸ’€
Also I mentioned this on my Instagram story earlier, but for anyone not in the loop, Iā€™m currently making a very lengthy blog and video essay for this franchise that will go over lots of info about the movie, book, production, creation, and analyses on the plots, characters, worlds etc. So look out for that ;)

Hereā€™s my first book review/fanart post Iā€™m putting on Tumblr! Iā€™m hoping to do more of these in the future :) Also there arenā€™t any spoilers in this review but I do go into a lot of details about the story and characters, so if you want to be surprised, I suggest reading the book first. But if you want a detailed review about this book before reading it, keeping on reading. āœØ
ALSO also, please support the amazingly talented writer who wrote this book! Here is his link tree:
Review:
I had so much fun reading this book. It reminded me a lot of Hitchhikerā€™s Guide to the Galaxy with all of its wacky humor and crazy space adventurous, but with its own twist and writing style. Everything about this story is colorful from the world, to the technology, to the characters and more. It had found family, crazy cooperate politics, diverse characters, relatable struggles, and a really unique depiction of the future. I found myself laughing and cheering on the characters for every page and looked forward to reading it whenever I could. I would say my only critiques are related to the prose and world building. There were a lot of times where I didnā€™t understand what was going or had a hard time imagining things because of the way things were described which, in turn, made some of these colorful places and things get lost in the narrative. But I believe a lot of the errors I found will be resolved in the final draft, and I honestly had such a perfect image in my head most of the time that it wasnā€™t hard to connect the dots during the more difficult moments. I imagined everything like a cartoon because of the energetic, over the top, and sometimes slap stick type descriptions and situations which, in my opinion, is some of the best ways to tell a story. Itā€™s so imaginative and creative and I wish more books took that approach honestly. It makes everything seem so colorful and clear in my head.
Regarding the world-building, it felt like it lacked a tad at times since I was unsure of why a lot of things were a certain way, but all in all, I was able to pick up on the way things worked eventually. The story knew what it wanted and did a pretty good job maneuvering us through this insane galactic world.
I think where the book lacked in prose/world-building, it made up for in its characters.
Oh. My. God. These characters. I love them unbelievably. They felt like family to me and I think I almost cried at the end lol. I loved seeing how these characters developed and how they each worked together to get their happy endings. They are all such a tight-knit family who love each other dearly, and each has their own unique, 3D personalities.
First, we have Jolene, a determined, hard-working waitress at Galaxy Waffles who also does a lot more work on the ship than her job requires, but thatā€™s just the way she is. Sheā€™s reliable, and will always go above and beyond to help her ship and her crew no matter if itā€™s her duty or not. I related so much to her frustration as an overworked and underpaid staff member who just wants the best for her loved ones while also struggling as a minority in this world, being held back from opportunities because of her status. I think that part specifically hit very close to home and I loved how the book covered real-world topics like that but in its own fictional way. It was a great allegory and I think, as a minority myself, it approached it realistically, respectfully, and in a way that is digestible and understandable to younger audiences while also showing it in a way where older people can be like: ā€œyeah I understand and/or sympathize with that.ā€
Then we have Boris, the veteran Robot and chef of the ship, and also probably my favorite of the crew. Heā€™s such a kind-hearted, lovable sweetheart whoā€™s witty, sarcastic, playful, and caring. Heā€™s always got his heart in the right place and does what he can to help his crew mates and ensure theyā€™re all safe and happy. He warmed my heart in every scene, and I wish I could be friends with him irl lol!
Next on the list is Murph, a quirky blue alien with a jelly body and shifting abilities. Theyā€™re such a crackpot with a huge personality. Whether theyā€™re talking/acting like a mobster from their favorite old movies, turning their hand into a calculator, or shifting into hilarious creatures/beings, they always got a laugh out of me.
Lastly, we have O.D. and Erabella. O.D being the shipā€™s AI, usually appearing like a holographic, sentient waffle. And Erabella being a mostly Android prick in charge of the crewā€™s every move. Although I hated both of them at first because of their mean-spirited and spiteful personalities, I came to love O.D. as his arc progressed and was satisfied with Erabellaā€™s ending.
I could go on and on about more characters, but you get my point. I also really enjoyed how the book read maturely but also cleanly at the same time. Itā€™s NA, and it did a really good job at finding a middle ground between mature content that adults could relate to while also being clean enough and digestible for teenagers.
This book was such a colorful, whimsical, chaotic adventure that had me smiling, laughing, and feeling sad for these characters every step of the way. I really recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy-to-read space adventure with humor and heart, and I hope a sequel comes out because Iā€™d love to see what these guys do next!
A/N: I was an arc reader for this book back in July, and though Iā€™ve already posted my review on Goodreads and Amazon, I MEANT to post it along with this fanart on my accounts too but life got into the way. Better late than never I guess šŸ˜…

Villain vs. Villain and the Revitalization of the Transtemporal case official book trailer is here!
If youā€™re interested in this book, go to the link in bio to get a copy for $5. Itā€™s quite an adventure šŸ‘€
ā€”ā€”ā€”-
I am once again so sorry for how late I posted this compared to my bookā€™s release. I am by no means a professional artist, so this was a big project for me even if it seems small to others but even despite the stress it caused me, I still had a blast working with the voice actors and music producer, as well as drawing all those frames, and Iā€™m so happy that I was able to finish it šŸ˜šŸ™
I have so much more to say, but I donā€™t want to clog this post with a bunch of rambles, so Iā€™ll make another post in a day or so going over all my thoughts on this 6 month long project. For now, Iā€™ll save my words so you can enjoy this thing I labored over for half a year šŸ„¹šŸ¤ž

1 day baby! Hereā€™s a list of things to sort of ā€œprepareā€ everyone for what to expect tomorrow šŸ˜ˆ
1) I would suggest watching it with headphones and on a bright screen since there are a lot of visual and audio details I wouldnā€™t want you to miss ;)
2) The trailer has over 90 separate drawings and over 240 frames. There are 4 voice actors involved, a custom soundtrack, a fourth wall break form yours truly, and a possible after credits surprise šŸ‘€
2) Itā€™s 4 and a half minutes long. The first 40 seconds are dedicated to the bookā€™s prologue, the next 2 and a half minutes are dedicated to the main plot of the book, about 25 seconds is the credits, and the last minute is the little after credits surprise āœØ
3) Although it has a few animated parts, itā€™s more of an animatic. But instead of everything being sketches, itā€™s fully lined, colored, and shaded. The quality of each illustration isnā€™t as good as my normal illustrations because of how many I had to draw in so little time, but itā€™s far more colorful than most animatics I think.
4) I had to slightly alter some scenes and dialogue from their book counterparts. Almost everything shown are direct quotes and scenes, but a few things had to be changed and a few lines of dialogue had to be added since story telling is a bit different in visual formats than in literature, and I needed to do what I could to make sure the plot was understandable in such a short video. Iā€™m hoping that worked out okay because Iā€™ve never had to summarize a plot and then tell that summarizes plot in a visual video. So Iā€™m keeping my fingers crossed the story is understandable šŸ˜šŸ¤ž

My favorite thing about this frame is that no matter how much guessing you do about whatā€™s going on here youā€™ll probably be incorrect every time lmao.

Starting today Iā€™m gonna be posting a still frame from my trailer every day leading up to the trailerā€™s release which will be September 30th! Starting off, hereā€™s one of the most detailed frames I did. I kinda rushed it but Iā€™m not gonna nit pick a drawing thatā€™s gonna be on screen for literally 0.5 seconds lmao.

Hereā€™s the last clip Iā€™ll be posting before the trailer release! Iā€™ll be posting a few still frames after this, but I wonā€™t be posting any more clips since I wanna save most of them as a surprise for when yā€™all watch the full thing šŸ˜ˆ
The trailer is set to be released by the end of the month and I can PROMISE that for sure since Iā€™m literally on the last drawing right now and only have minor touch ups to do with the audio and shit. I also need to edit this clip a bit since the water animation is super inconsistent and itā€™s bothering tf outta me but I was too anxious to post this clip to fix it right away so Iā€™ll do it later lmao.

I will randomly get the motivation to attempt to draw something realist-ish, then will get burnout after a single drawing and lose the motivation to ever try something like that again for another few months and the cycle repeats. At least this looks better than most of my past attempts so Iā€™ll give myself that šŸ’ƒšŸ•ŗ

Thank you for the og ref Ophelia. You always feed us well šŸ™šŸ§Žā€ā™‚ļø
Also thirst trap aside, I love finding excuses to draw my characterā€™s bodies cuz itā€™s good practice. I feel like the way I draw my characters and their bodies are always changing, but thatā€™s because I have a very specific image in my head that I always struggle to get out on paper 100% accurately. And as my art improves, the quality will change and so will details as I find better ways to draw them āœØ
ALSO also, before anyone asks about why Katrinaā€™s skin is two different tones: her skin is naturally lighter but sheā€™s out in the sun all the time and canā€™t tan to save her life, so her upper half is just always red lmao.

Here was my entry for the 2k Oc Cosplay Collab hosted by just_renegade on Instagram! I drew my oc Larry as Spock from Star Trek because I just KNOW heā€™s a fan of that show and heā€™s also likeā€”the only nerdy oc I have, so this was a fitting prompt lol
