I often wonder why the theme of a secret sexual encounter between Hera and Zeus in the early days of their relationship can be found in many local traditions, and it seems more popular than the myth of the official wedding itself. Could it be to emphasise that their union was something driven by love/desire rather than an arranged marriage? Otherwise I don't see the point of showing the goddess of marriage doing something that would be frowned upon at that time.

"Come, my heart, put on your armour" - Euripides' Medea
Medea sits on the porch of her house in Corinth after killing her children, in a short moment of contemplation, waiting for the arrival of Iason and her final triumph over him. She is the Deus ex Machina in her own play. She doesn't need a god to intervene on her behalf, she is half-god herself.
The Medea of Euripides is probably one of my favourite plays of all time with Medea being one of my favourite characters ever put on stage. Euripides is a master of the pyschological thriller and the portrait he paints of Medea the child-killer, Medea the witch, Medea the wronged woman, Medea the hated foreigner, is still so modern and so topical, even now almost 2500 years later.

If we absolutely have to make Hera cheat, it should be with Argus.
Hear me out.
I know he has eyes all over his body and people may find that unattractive, but i don’t think she cares. She’s raised monsters before. We see her in the io myth after his death choosing to remember him by putting his eyes into her sacred bird. We have her in the Dionysiaca as she watches Zeus pursue Europa in the disguise of a cow wish that Argus was there to basically herd Zeus. So, if we wanted to add spice we could say Zeus, who is known not to take lightly to people who admire Hera, has Argus killed by Hermes out jealously. Now we have a juicer story that’s tragic and actually interesting…….
I’ll see myself out.

Another day of despising Hades x Persephone interpretations at the expense of Demeter's character among others. What do you mean the nymph Cyane helped Persephone run away with her beloved Hades and Demeter turned her into a mermaid as punishment, when it's the complete opposite?? People read a myth of a woman trying to help another woman and turn it on its head for the benefit of a straight ship. I'm so mad.
