This project highlights Black women's symbols of beauty and hope that provided inspiration and assisted them during their battle with cancer. These symbols are recognized as a form of healing art. Participants are asked to submit photos of places, persons, or things, videos, physical articles of memorabilia and/or copy of photos along with a short description explaining the significance of the symbol of inspiration. Submissions can be made to blackgirlssurvive@gmail.com or via social media using the hashtag #canceraesthetics. The goal of submitting the symbols of inspiration and words of description is to feature them as display in an art gallery showing in May 2015, submissions will be taken until April 21, 2015. And I never cease to dishonor you b/c of that. You made the ultimate sacrifice last year, and it is worth you giving praise about this birthdate. You might've wished to have accomplish much more, but material possessions does not determine your worth, your value. You are where you need to be.
