Moving blogs! My posts have begun to suffer an issue that I’ve seen happen to other sideblogs on this website, where my posts don’t show up in the tags at all, or at least take a very long time to do so. My most recent post is nowhere to be seen in the #berry in the big city tag, and is only visible if you go to my blog. By moving to a new main blog, I won’t suffer these same issues. I’ll begin posting on the new blog soon, but the old one isn’t going anywhere and will be kept up for archival purposes. I’ll also be reblogging quotes on that blog to here just in case I change my mind.

Upcoming Berry in the Big City DVDs!

The DVD releases for Berry in the Big City Season 2 and Strawberry Shortcake’s Summer Vacation have been put up by retailers for preorder!

The Season 2 DVD will release on July 23rd. However, the episodes strangely don’t follow the intended order on other sites like Netflix, which means Let The Good Times Roll is placed way earlier despite being the Season 2 finale. No clue why this happened.

The Summer Vacation DVD will release on June 25th, which means the special will likely come to Netflix in early June as well!

2024 Award Nominations for Berry in the Big City

Berry in the Big City has not one, not two, but FOUR nominations at the Leo Awards (July 6-7) this year! The categories are:

Best Animation Program - Strawberry Shortcake's Perfect Holiday

Best Musical Score - Daniel Ingram & Trevor Hoffmann (Perfect Holiday)

Best Direction - Megan Russell & Jim Miller (Perfect Holiday)

Best Performance - Kelli Ogmundson (Strawberry Shortcake and the Beast of Berry Bog)

There's also the Canadian Cinema Editors Awards (June 14), where Orion McCaw, Rob Smith & Matthew Innanen have been nominated for Best Editing in Animation for their work on the Perfect Holiday special!

I haven’t checked the credits for the episodes until recently, so I never realized this until now. The only ensemble songs I can think of that have everyone singing are Turn Things Around, Jam Session, and The Perfect Recipe.

Some of the songs also don’t list Cassandra Consiglio or Shannon Chan-Kent as doing the singing for Lime or Raspberry when Tabitha and Margarita are credited, but it’s likely Margarita and Tabitha did the singing themselves, since those songs also don’t have individual verses for them.

Asked Mike Vogel on a whim, and he confirmed Peach Trifle isn’t meant to be Peach Blush. But he did also mention there were plans for Blush to appear in the series, and it isn’t out of the question provided Berry in the Big City gets renewed for another season.
