And, yes, I should really start looking for #conferences out there! So I plead to fellow PhD students with more experience than me, if you know where I can be aware of #healtheconomics conferences, websites, profiles I should follow and so, tell me!! Will be infinitely grateful ^^.

FIRST PRESENTATON!!
09/10/2022
So, 3 months in Sligo, 1 month properly into the Ph.D. Struggled a bit finding routine, but I think now i've got it. Already did a presentation, maybe will do it again for a future seminary.
And I can say I am extremely happy with the feedback I got, my supervisors loved it.
It was on #EQ5D5L health assessment tool.

Induction weeks for 2022-2023 academic year
23-09-2022
Soooo on 19th September the 2022-2023 academic year started at now official new university @atusligo_ie.
And, as the first two months were more for settling in that actually working for me too, now I can say I actually started too, with weekly meetings and real proper work to do, finally. I am so happy with everything so far, I'll tell you soon about it.
In the pic, the nice WELLCOME word they added for us students on these induction days and the ATU Sligo symbol, the salmon.
Did you know? Saumon is the knowledge fish in Celtic Mythology!

Omg organisation goals
HOW I PLAN MY WEEK AS A PHD STUDENT
I found the lack of structure and timetabled events the most difficult adjustment to make when I started my PhD last month. I love structure and I love routine, being without one made me panic quite a bit. One thing that has helped with this adjustment is planning my weeks using Google Calendar.
I have 5 separate calendars:
DAILY
This is the calendar I use to schedule mundane events and tasks that happen on a daily basis. At the minute, this just consists of scheduling in a lunch hour and taking my meds.
PERSONAL
My personal calendar is used for significant events in my personal life that have been planned weeks in advance and shouldn't be missed unless there's an emergency. As you can see, this week I had an appointment for my eyelash extensions and I also have a gig on Saturday. I have the alerts for this calendar switched on so I never forget when I have something important coming up.
PHD
This calendar is used to mark important milestones and events relating to my PhD. This includes mandatory lectures (I only have 3 this semester, and 2 have already passed!), meetings with my supervisors and academic advisor and deadlines.
TO-DO
My to-do calendar is the one that gets used the most regularly. Instead of writing a to-do list, I put the things that have to be done into my calendar with an allotted amount of time. If I know how I want to spend my week, I can do this on a Monday morning and other times I'll do it on a day-to-day basis. This week I know there's certain things I need to do while they're still fresh in mind and so I've already filled them in. Before using this method, I'd find that a to-do list is way too flexible for the way my mind works and I'd spend hours on a task that only really should've taken 30 minutes. I find that my time blocking my to-do list, the things on the list actually get done and I'm more productive with my time
WORK
My last calendar is for work. At the moment, I teach at the university, I tutor high school maths and I am also a specialist mental health mentor and counsellor. All of the hours I spend working are put into my work calendar so it's easy to keep track of my hours worked and, in turn, my expected pay every month.

The view is magbificent 😍😍😍
March 4th, 2022 | Briefly visiting the library of my hometown's university. I'm aghasted by the lack of resources in Linguistics and Literature (they only offer Translation and Interpretation studies, but still) but the view is nice, although uncomfy as hell. Ah well...
My national grant application is submitted, so I am finally able to work on actual research matters!

First PhD week
16|07|2022
First weef of Ph.D.: already working a few notes based on the first papers I have to read during this month.
Nothing too overwhelming, just to have some context on what I am are going to study, previous research discoveries and issues mainly.
It's for me the perfect ocassion to review some cellular biology and physilogical concepts, such as Kupffer cells.
As you can see on the picture my notes are a mix of writehanded and digital notes, mostly because I have a writing memory.
This combination allows me to keep all the references at hand a memorize quicker.
What do you prefer??
Tell me un comments!

So a few key aspects for your information:
> I am pursuing it at the Atlantic Technological University.
> It is a 4-year Ph.D. program
> Title: " Modelling innovation in the health technology assessment of medical devices. "
...and it is related to biomedicine, organ transplants, and health assessment!

Organizing the Ph.D. content
06|07|2022
By the way, I started working on my Ph.D. and in order to have everything organized I use NOTION.
Oh Notion , how I love you. Without a doubt the best discovery I made at my former job.
I use it for nearly everything now and hope it will be very helpful for my Ph.D. too <3 <3

I officially started my Ph.D. yesterday!
11/07/2022 |
I have been in Sligo for 10 days now, arrival was tiring but exciting. For the first week I have been exploring the city, meeting new people - but I know there is still so many people to meet - and talking to my supervisors and yesterday I officially started my Ph.D.
So for now on not only will I be talking about biomedicine but also about the fact of moving to Ireland and living in a foreign country!
Also this blog will become very student-vibes like.
Hope you guys will enjoy this content ^^
