CARRD IN SUPPORT OF THE DALIT PEOPLE IN INDIA

"State of the Dalit people today:

Dalits endure segregation in housing, schools, and access to public services. They are denied access to land, forced to work in degrading conditions, and routinely abused at the hands of the police and upper-caste community members who enjoy the state’s protection. Entrenched discrimination violates Dalits’ rights to education, health, housing, property, freedom of religion, free choice of employment, and equal treatment before the law. Dalits also suffer routine violations of their right to life and security of person through state-sponsored or -sanctioned acts of violence, including torture.

Caste-motivated killings, rapes, and other abuses are a daily occurrence in India."

"A 19 yr old Dalit girl was brutally gang raped in Hathras village. Her spinal cord and neck was damaged and her tongue was cut off. She died on 29th September.

The Police did not file a case initially, and even when they did they tried to twist the facts and narrative according to their convenience. They tampered with the evidence, BURNED THE VICTIM'S BODY with petrol, and then denied rape completely.

The police claiming that it is not a rape even when we know that the girl made a dying declaration that she was raped and she even identified the rapist. The victim's mother found her body lying naked bleeding from her vagina."
