...i know that i said that this world is cursed but maybe... it actually... isn't? because when viktor steps out of the hexcore cocoon, he'll still grow hextech AND help zaun rebuild and grow AND is now getting fucked senseless by jayce, does viktor have any time to get the anomaly from the hexgates? does he have any reasons to end the world when as soon as he woke up, jayce kissed him senseless and spirited him off to a shotgun wedding?

...i think undercity jayce and piltoverian viktor au would be one of the worlds where it's cursed because it's too good because let's see vander doesn't die, vi doesn't get jailed so she and powder stay together and maybe vander and silco sorta, maybe, kinda reconcile so there's no bombing of the council room. and even though viktor is piltoverian, his kindness and gentleness is a constant

so viktor backs jayce up no matter what. when jayce says to help zaun, viktor agrees. when jayce says that they'll make weapons for zaun, viktor not only agrees but he also makes defenses for zaun and her people. viktor will make sure that zaun's independence is guaranteed. hextech can and will improve lives and viktor is devoted. to hextech, to jayce.

and since he's piltoverian, there's no death from terminal illness hanging over their heads. viktor can grow old with jayce. but that's the thing, the word can. because this world is cursed because it's too good to be true.

if hextech exists, what arrives in piltover to have it? ambessa. she sees that zaun has a chance of independence and it's all because of hextech. she sends an assassin after viktor, framing piltover for his death. and just like that, jayce adds avenging viktor to what he needs to do. and as ambessa positions herself in piltover, she'll make sure jayce is dead. zaun can have their independence, whatever, but hextech will be hers

(what is supposed to help zaun must now be used for something else. of course jayce saves viktor with the hexcore, jayce has to. he has to. viktor is his partner, they were supposed to stay together, grow old together. spend the rest of their days in zaun and helping it rebuild and grow. and viktor doesn't leave when he wakes up because why would he? his place is by jayce's side as he promised)

(i think if the become a councilor is still a thing in this world, it's viktor. because why wouldn't it be? viktor might be a self-named orphan from less well-off part of piltover that managed to become the dean's assistant but he's still piltoverian. though both the other councilors and the elites of piltover dislike him still because he's a staunch supporter of the undercity, of zaun. his sump rat partner has rubbed off on him, that much is very clear)

aghhhhh I really love your Zaunite!Jayce Piltovian!Viktor AU, looove making Viktor an orphan to keep him not having a house name, love that without his own hangups he just narrows and focuses all of his attention and care onto Jayce.

Also I like a lot of the little changes! like the Kirammans still supporting him from the sounds of it, but with his more pacifist nature maybe him being friends with Caitlyn would steer her away from being an enforcer. And he and Mel would have similar anti-conqueror beliefs, though his is a general rejection of power while she prefers to rule behind a throne. Which also makes making Viktor the councilor really interesting, because I can't see him forcing Heimerdinger out but instead trying to be a more active force with similar anti-violence policies where Heimerdinger's long life makes him very passive.

Meanwhile Jayce gets to live his full gremlin dreams, making whatever he wants while his partner has to be nice to people (Viktor always grimaces at the gala invitations and Jayce is always smug that none of them get to see Viktor when he's actually sweet, because he also likes to be a little mean to balance it out and only Jayce gets the full experience. and Caitlyn but siblings don't count).

Also Jayce being like "WE COULD HAVE BEEN FUCKING THIS ENTIRE TIME? FUCK!" is so funny to me oh my god. Viktor is so besotted with him that everyone who knows almost feels bad for the guy and Jayce only gets to learn this as Viktor's in the hex coccoon and wants to make up for lost time the INSTANT Viktor comes out.

...oh viktor still has his hangups. he's just not looking at or acknowledging them because he's focused on hextech and jayce lmao (something, something, hextech and jayce gave his life meaning so viktor ignores everything else something)

and funny you mentioned caitlyn because i was thinking of the others being swapped too. so maybe caitlyn is the daughter of a chembaron, another type of violence to unlearn! though swapping everyone hit a roadblock with mel :<

mel and viktor are *almost* friendsbut the politics stops them from being friends completely. they still get together to relax and gossip when viktor becomes councilor though! so maybe mel and heimerdinger are the other people who see viktor's sweet side. yeah, viktor wouldn't oust heimerdinger so as shadesofflame suggested, maybe heimerdinger resigns and votes viktor into as his successor?

oh yeah, jayce is living his life. he's got a smoking hot partner that's devoted to their dream and to him and all the materials he can use. the asking for funding and the deadlines are a pain in the ass but jayce and his partner can handle them!

viktor takes the chance to have the power to heal jayce and so accepts. he brings jayce with him to see the strange creature and in front of their eyes, jayce's leg heals.

jayce is amazed, his mind fuzzy from adrenaline and the presence of his new passenger. he looks at viktor and it's with such new light (yes, his new passenger whispers, ours, always)

in one of lady talis' visits, viktor asks her if jayce is with her. ximena softly says yes. viktor tells her to be careful because such a thing can bring her more pain. ximena is touched, no wonder jayce looked so smitten when talking about him. viktor is very kind. and in the next visit, viktor has food and drink ready.

he pushes a bag forward and says that he remembered that you liked these. lady talis is confused, viktor looks into the shadows and greets jayce. jayce walks out, the way he looks at viktor is so desperate and so very wanting. viktor, jayce says ruined. hello, jayce, viktor repeats

jayce is disheveled, pale and sickly. viktor asks him how he's been and jayce helplessly shrugs. he doesn't know how to repond to that. viktor's eyes are considering, have you eaten? he asks. only a little, jayce admits. viktor nods to a seat next to him then asks if he could give him a check up. jayce doesn't know for what but agrees because he wants to be near viktor.

viktor looks into jayce's eyes, checks his pulse and... viktor asks if jayce can open his mouth so he can check his teeth. jayce and ximena both pause. jayce agrees. viktor runs his finger across jayce's teeth and he feels jayce shiver. viktor asks if they know what creature jayce is now. they answer that theu don't know.

viktor says that jayce is a vampire now, that he drinks blood and that will give him strength. jayce and ximena are shocked and even horrified. viktor reassures them it'll be ok. jayce can only drink small amount of blood as long as he doesn't kill someone when he feeds, he won't be cursed. cursed? ximena asks. to be weakened and maybe burn in the sun and this great unquenchable hunger.

viktor pushes up his sleeve. i can feed you right now if you want? he offers to jayce. jayce looks at him with wide eyes. and if you don't want that, i have some blood here, viktor finishes. but even with that, jayce chooses viktor. he wants to be even closer, he even wants a *taste* of viktor.

viktor presses his wrist against jayce's lips and oh, jayce will this moment over in his mind tonight and tomorrow night and every night. the warmths of viktor's skin, jayce's mouth opens and his fangs lengthen, the taste of viktor's skin, jayce bites down, the taste of viktor's blood, the sheer warmth of it. jayce drinks. and slowly his paleness and his sickliness goes away. when he's full, he's regained the healthy glow he's had when he was alive.

jayce's eyes are half-lidded and dazed, even sleepy. viktor calls to jayce and jayce blinks. viktor pulls his wrist away from jayce's mouth and jayce lets him. but he doesn't let viktor lower his hand, holds it loosely with his. viktor clears his throat, jayce blinks, viktor says that jayce can go to him if he needs blood, human or animal. jayce nods. viktor nods to the food, you can eat now.

jayce turns to the food and his mouth waters. he reaches for it, releasing viktor's hand and viktor puts his hand on his lap. his heart is beating way too fast. viktor turns to lady talis and takes out his notebook. he writes down his temple and his address and gives it to her and ximena accepts gently, softly thanking him

nun viktor and vampire jayce where as piltover prepares for the long night, viktor takes a break from being the dean's assistant and returns to his previous role as a sister from the undercity. and he gets asked by lady kiramman for a favor, to give funeral rites to jayce talis. viktor is shocked, jayce was a sort of friend that he met during their academy days and they just went out to chat at a cafe two days ago.

viktor does, meets lady talis. he offers her condolences and asks her if he could pray for jayce. lady talis asks about his dress and viktor tells her he's a servant of the kind dark. his duty is to offer prayers and baptisms and even funeral rites. lady talis asks him if he could do funeral rites for jayce. viktor carefully says that he could but it'll be undercity-zaunian-funeral rites or children of the kind dark funeral rites

ximena asks for both and viktor does. when they see jayce, viktor notices that jayce's body is surprisingly in good condition, as if he's sleeping instead of dead. but he can't say that to lady talis so he does the funeral rites. he cleans jayce's body as he recites a prayer to janna, he dresses jayce green shirt and black trousers as he recites prayer about the kind dark, lady talis crying behind him. viktor folds jayce's hands over his chest. and at the end, he turns off the light and lights a lantern so he can put fissure flowers around jayce.

when he turns the lights back on, he gives lady talis a yellow flower and pen and paper so she can write jayce's name and burn it. viktor washes his hands and brings lady talis a handkerchief, fruit and tea. he gives her space, attending to his other duties. and when he returns to talk to her, lady talis and jayce's body are both gone. viktor doesn't know what happened to them or where they went but he knows that lady talis is going to do something

viktor is uneasy but he has duties to do so he goes back to preparing for piltover's long dark. but as he does, he notices that something is watching him. but they don't do anything just watch. and when the long dark is upon them and creatures come out, when viktor gets cornered, something big and vicious saves him. the creature feels vaguely familiar and viktor doesn't know how it'll react so he stiffly thanks it

when lady talis comes by to give her thanks, viktor just accepts it, unsure how to ask about jayce. he doesn't have to because ximena tells him that jayce is looking forward to seeing him again and hands something over. it's a ring, a yellow flower made of gemstones on it. viktor doesn't except it and instead of being angry, lady talis just smiles and wryly says that she told jayce that he should give this to viktor personally

lady talis pushes the ring box forward, meeting viktor's eyes. please accept it, viktor, ximena says with a strange intensity in her eyes, this has both jayce and i's feelings. viktor doesn't know what she means but he has a feeling that this is something he shouldn't reject. he hesitantly accepts it

hextech is a new and very interesting and fascinating thing! so of course everyone wants to know about it and even have it. enter thieves abd assassins sent to know and even steal schematics. and who else is in the lab but viktor?

viktor is working so he's either extremely focused or sleepy and he knows that people walking into his lab is suspicious and even dangerous but well. it won't be dangerous if he doesn't cause any suspicion or alarm.

so viktor talks to his uninvited guests. brighs out the Dean's Assistant Voice-for-worried-students and suggesting something to drink. and finds himself surprisingly safe because tge would-be robber is listening intently to him. viktor even manages to get them to screw something together nicely. (he keeps telling these people that he have nice hands and each one thinks, and i xan show you how nice they are)

jayce keeps walking to viktor talking to strangers. in *their* lab!!
