Hillary Clinton is Pretty Great

I try so hard not to think about the election this early. But I’m terrified of people fleeing from Hillary because she’s too mainstream both in her perspectives and in her experiences. 

I understand being intrigued and excited by Bernie Sanders. He represents a much more revolutionary potential future and I think the changes he wants to make would be good for America. I don’t know if he would be a better president than Clinton, but I do know I’ll vote for whichever of them wins the primary.

My fear is that if Clinton wins the primary (which she almost certainly will) that people will be disillusioned with the outcome and choose not to vote in the final election. 

Yes, Senator Clinton is a politician, but she’s also very progressive. Her voting record is barely more moderate than Bernie Sanders and she has proven to be very good at building coalitions and working with unlikely allies. Sometimes this is portrayed by commentators on the left as “bizarre alliances with bankers and the Christian right.” 

But bankers and the Christian Right are Americans too, and there’s no reason not to work with them on progressive policies if you can get them to work with you. 

Maybe I’m too much of a realist, but the Hillary Hate Brigade is terrifying me. If we end up in a Clinton v. Any-of-the-current-republican-hopefuls ticket, with supreme court nominations on the line and rapidly deepening wealth inequality, I am very worried that our efforts to discredit this remarkable woman during the primary will do very very long term damage to our country.

That 642 calories per day. This is the point. 29 bucks doesn't get you a full week's worth of healthy food. It gets you 2 days worth of healthy food. It can, however, get you a week's worth of more calorically dense, less "healthy" food. A 12-pack of Ramen is $2.22. That's 18 cents per meal- and each one is 380 calories. That's $4 if you eat it 3x a day, 7 days a week. You get 1140 calories- nearly twice what Gwenyth got.

Chef Boyardee Ravioli is $3.62 for 4 cans- that's 91 cents per meal- and each one is 405 calories. That’s $19, if you eat it every day, three times a day. you get 1215 calories- again, nearly twice what Gwenyth got, but still not nearly enough for a growing kid or a working adult.

Nissin Souper meals are 560 calories. You can get them at the dollar store- so that's $1.00 per meal. That's $21 if you eat it 3x a day, 7 days a week. You get 1680 calories- still not enough for the average adult, but so much closer than the health food- and it's nearly at the cash limit.

Healthy food isn't cheap. Unhealthy food isn't cheap- even if it is cheaper than healthy food. Food is expensive.

UMBC Gothic

You stand in the line. Salsarita's. You state your order, but only gray slime is placed onto the tortilla. You pay, and you wait, but the quesodilla never comes. You shall not eat today. 

You step into the breezeway. The cold wind cuts through your coat, but you make it to the other side. You hear a student scream as she crashes into construction fences behind you. You don't look back; you know that she is gone. The construction workers leave nothing but bones

Sitting under the flags, you look around. Surrounding you, Greek life. Letters, everywhere. You look down. You are wearing letters. You are Greek. You are legion.

Your dorm room is cold. You turn on the heat, and go to sleep. When you wake, it is hot. Ten thousand degrees, and the thermostat has melted off of the wall. It is not cold. It has never been cold. It will never be cold. There is only fire.

"Get the ultimate" she said. She didn't know. You eat your six hundredth meal. No one has ever finished all 999. No one has ever left Dining Hall. You envy the commuters.

Inspired by Anita Sarkeesian’s Video Game Tropes vs Women, I wanted to pitch a Zelda game where Zelda herself was the hero, rescuing a Prince Link. 

Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos.

This concept work is meant to show that Zelda as a game protagonist can be both compelling and true to the franchise, while bringing new and dynamic game elements that go farther than being a simple gender swap.

Packing

My mother acts like it's no big deal.

Not that anyone actually reads my tumblr, but still...

DISNEY HAVE STOLEN MY ARTWORK

I don’t know what to do. I am so upset. Can anyone help me?

My painting was created back in 2010, (see it HERE) and since then so many people have expressed their love for it, not just on tumblr, but in many places. At least 9 people had it tattooed on their bodies. It’s one of my favourite images I created at University and I was proud of it in many ways.

Disney have used it on a cosmetics bag HERE (look at the back) and they have produced a Tshirt HERE with a really similar design clearly modeled from my painting

I’m so mad because I have no chance at getting Disney to do anything about it. I had so much respect for the company and now I am just SO upset and disappointed.

Any help, advice or signal boosting would be amazing. And thank you so much to the kind person who messaged me about this.
