With a sea of information at our fingertips, it is crucial for us media users to think about how we search and what we find online. Information Literacy has also been known as digital literacy or literacy in the media. Regardless of the terminology, whether it is digital literacy or media literacy, the secret to thriving in a digital space is to incorporate the knowledge to the era of linking things, individuals, and thoughts-Social Era. These knowledge includes the application of different search strategies to increase the accuracy and relevance of online search results.
People today rarely go to public places to acquire new relationship; they instinctively go to the internet -particularly social networking sites. Places full of people are still available and a valuable resource for socialization, but information literacy includes socialization on the Internet and beyond is a different level. Thus, an Information Literate individual is advantageous in the context of looking for answers to what uncertainty it could be, because he/she has the ability to link two information to formulate an answer and a notion through efficient media manipulation. In the midst of Social era, taking information literacy into consideration not to mention its competencies is highly influential not just to our lives, but also to how we socialize.
