The Arkham Knight is like a dark reflection of Batman. He seems to know everything about him: tactics, gadgets and weaknesses. He has used this knowledge to create an identity that mocks the Dark Knight and creates a striking image on the battlefield that inspires his army and terrifies the enemies.

Were there any times where the squad was like “uh, we’re pretty sure you’re (the boss) human, but what the fuck.” Like internally.

The thought came to me when I was mentally rereading that fic where AK and his babysitters (with the powers of murder) are in the cabin (I think) in Louisiana. I think Antoine is the narrator, and AK hear something from where he was pacing and just whips his head around. Antoine thinks something like “He knows it’s probably just a guy under there, but sometimes he wonders.” And then AK shows off his incredible self-preservation skills and leaves to check it out and the whole killer croc shitshow happens.

But like, not him being threatening, just. Unintentionally creepy/uncanny valley. Were there times that happened? Him creeping out the squad?

Antoine: All the time, but it was really bad at first. He used to be really, really...stiff. Like. Stiff movements, not so chatty, super paranoid. In hindsight, I'm pretty sure that was about 90% awkwardness, but at the time...brr.

Frank: Yeah, the stiffness was definitely a thing. The helmet didn't help.

Trent: Yeah, the helmet was the problem. Like. The armor is at least normal; theatrical, but normal. That? Was creepy.

Riley: Objectively, yes. Practically, I spent time around people like that, so it wasn't...as weird...but it was jarring, seeing it out in the world, you know? Like. You ever really watch Halloween, and Michael's movements are all borderline robotic? It was kind of like that, only with less sex-is-bad behind it. You've never seen him kill a guy. I have. I've killed people too, bare-handed, even, but not...not quite like that. Somewhere between one-track mind and lights on, nobody home.

Mark: Honestly, not really, but you have to remember that I'm looking at this from a medical standpoint; a lot of those stiff, deliberate movements? Especially the non-murdery ones? That's pain-based. I didn't know what happened-and that's probably for the best, because now I'm mad about it-but the full armor and the helmet? My theory, honestly, was either mass burning or Darth Vader, limbs off and all.

Jimmy: Mostly it was the helmet, but honestly...at first, he was really still. Creepy, mannequin-style still. It was almost a relief when he loosened up enough to start being fidgety.

Duke can see a few moments into the future but will deliver it in the most needlessly cryptic way

Jason and Bruce are arguing. Just before Jason storms off, Duke says, "If you walk out that door, you will experience unforeseeable pain and have no one but yourself to blame"

And Jason's all, "Stay out of this, Narrows"

Then he trips over his shoelace and Duke's like, "Told you so"

Robin era Jason, who's going after the Riddler with Batman, and one of the Riddles is some kind of literary reference, so Jason solves it easily but when he gets to the location the riddle hinted at, it's wrong????

And it haunts him the whole time until they finally catch the Riddler and Jason gets to ask him about it before he gets locked up again, and turns out the Riddler just confused two diffrent barely similar quotes or something.

And Jason LOSES HIS MIND.

And because Jason is irritated, and his tongue runs loose in his anger, he screams back that he is nineteen, and Bruce just freezes, because... Oh. Jason is nineteen. He is a fucking kid - his kid - that lost years of his teenhood, and was forced back without anyone giving him a space to catch up, with everyone else already treating him like an adult...
