When we first met via introduction, why did you want to be my friend?

I was hyperactive and weird

You were calm and sweet to everyone

Ten years later, now that we’ve moved on from a 24/7 365 job of trying to salvage our friendship,

I wonder if I was ever worth anything to you.

While I breathed my soul into making sure you felt loved, you left me in quicksand

A part of me knows I’ve been wronged

But the rest of me aches knowing you don’t care about the shambles you left me in

I thought it was me who finally gave up

Turns out you had just been waiting for an easy way out

You even had an escape route at the ready so that when I finally stopped trying you wouldn’t be one of those losers without a best friend.

What’s so much better about her than me?

Why is she worth more to you when I’ve known you for just as long?

Are your definitions of value twisted or am I just less valuable?

The line between “best friend” and “regular friend” are blurred to me now

How do you tell the difference between someone who loves you and someone who loves knowing you?

Do I deserve another best friend when I wasn’t good enough to keep you?

I would tear out my heart and give it to you had it meant you loving me for me

How much more do I have to drain myself to prove my worth?

How much did she have to do to prove herself?

I'd love to join your writeblr community! I write fantasy and sci fi for my two main projects. Actually my main character on my main main project, the fantasy one, is pretty close to morally grey! Only issue is, I'm still trying to find a plot lmao
