Being apart of the Media world has nurtured my skill sets, and given me a platform to communicate my thoughts in various ways. Creating poetry, prose, and photography has allowed me to document my life experiences in an art form that is both fullfilling and meaningful.

Bones
I turned the corner to see you
Curled up on the floor,
With your head hung low.
Every bone in my body
Reached for you.
As I pulled you near,
I knew you felt broken.

Buried
Walking near bodies, watching headstones grow smaller. Stone names never are enough to remember anyone by. As I wept, tears seeped into a new buried soul.

Work
Centuries of trial and error Humanity still has not reached An ideal image of perfection. We are Dreadfully selfish We are Awfully competitive We are Overly insecure We are Ridiculously envious Suffering has not been vanquished Intoxicating our lands is allowed Nature is abused, Then remembered when it’s gone Evil vestures itself In every crevasse of our world And we are taught boast the rich wipe out the poor Cliche, “Everything good must come to an end” We deflect our flaws onto each other Or, onto something else We created, We adapted to sin Our goodness keeps anarchy at bay until evil conquers the words, “I’m sorry.” Our choices have everlasting impact, You can not deny our history And claim we are untainted subjects Our nature is desire We long for each other, Until being interconnected Becomes a burden. God loves us, time again, time again

Empty
I choke on broken promises Then cling to forgotten love notes As my insides rot, I plead To be stuffed with your leftover fragments And still, I beg To be filled with more I swallow your lies And wear your cursive letters Out of fear that someday You will choose to keep me empty

YOUTHLINC
I joined Youthlinc, a nonprofit service organization, and traveled to Cambodia in June of 2017. This program takes dedication, and is a monthly time commitment but is utterly rewarding. Before you travel with your team, you must complete 40 hours of service at your mainservice site, and another 40 hours of miscellaneous service. Youthlinc strives to build relationships between people within their own communities, and around the world.
After a 36 hour travelling day I arrived to Siem Riep, Cambodia- where I stayed for 16 days. Fifty years ago, Cambodia's former leader, Pol Pot, lead the Cambodian Genocide. Anyone of threat like, doctors, lawyers, teachers, and more, were killed. My team and I met many survivors who had been and taken, tortured, and starved. Rehabilitating a part of their lifestyle by building a new school in the village, teaching health classes, and showing them sets of business skills was humbling. They expressed immense gratitude for the supplies we brought and the short amount of time we spent there, and there is still so much to be done.

“THAT’S EXACTLY HOW IT HAPPENED”
Sadly, there will never be an encore, but our Judge Memorial actors still reminisce about catchy songs and witty lines from their musical production, The Robber Bridegroom. In recent years they’ve jammed to rock n’ roll songs from Grease, have spit quick rhymes from In the Heights, and just recently belt twangy chants on stage last November. Through the collaboration of Darin Hathaway, Nathan Shaw, Marjoris Regus, Jeanette Sawaya, and Judge Memorial students- a playful American folk tale was brought to life for the enjoyment of an eager audience.
Now that the love story between a beautiful girl, Rosamund, and The Bandit Of the Woods, Jamie Lockhart has ended happily ever after, some actors reflected on their experience. A senior, Lexi Thompson, who played Salome said, “The show was really fun, and I was happy with the way people responded to my character.” Lexi has been in multiple productions at Judge, but other cast members joined the Theatre program for the first time this year. A senior, and the former dance captain, Zoe Bauman, explained, “Even though this was my first musical at Judge, the people were the most accepting group I’ve ever been apart of.” The cast members become united, and support each other in and outside of the rehearsal process. Darin Hathaway believes, “Being a part of a show is an honor! I hope everyone on the stage feels that, because performing is a privilege this cast shares together.” Whether you have had any previous experience in a Judge production or not, being casted is an exhilarating experience many Judge students find memorable.

Fear
Your mannerisms have engraved themselves into me. It seems I’ve let a part of you latch itself onto me. I hear my voice mimic your playful tone, or I copy your body gestures as I dance alone in my room. I feel my demeanor morphing itself into what I once loved about you. Maybe it’s because I’ve been burdened with this gnawing fear that I’ve lost you completely.

End The color gray rolled from the bottoms of his feet, and up to the crown of his skull. I tried waking him up, but his violent shaking suddenly ended. I fell apart, thinking surely, his heart had stopped. He sucked in his last breath, lying limp in the street. “But he was good. But he is loved,“ I sobbed.

Blue
It was a crisp, blue sky morning
when I noticed you standing at your front door.
Your neck was strained in my direction,
so our eyes would meet.
I studied the color of them for the last time,
and sadly smiled goodbye.
