DISCOVERIES CHAPTER 41

Brief summary thus far: Harry Andy and Teddy go on holiday to Malibu California a year after the battle of Hogwarts to get away from the stress and memories in England for a time (also for Harry’s 19th birthday)

When Harry goes out on his night off, he runs into the infamous Tony Stark, who promptly seduces Harry out the door and to his home and bed. Tony figures out that Harry was lying about his name and they kick off a game of Tony attempting to discover Harry’s identity.

Along the way, Tony discovers a) this guy is nice to be around b) maybe not all children are disgusting germ factories and c) magic is — wait WHAT MAGIC?!?

Cue longer relationship and mpreg shenanigans💖

Hi, I used to work for UPS. You are NOT supposed to ship money. Not sure if it’s illegal but even gift cards were a ‘no that cannot be insured, pack at your own risk’. I don’t believe it’s illegal, but it was definitely a grey area that wasn’t protected (we could not put that there was cash in the package in the description). That being said plenty of mom’s slipped twenty’s into college care packages, and there was one gentleman who was always sending his mom clothes and slipping a hundred dollars or so into one of the pockets.

THIS BEING SAID: there are likely two reasons for doing this. Packages containing a large amount of money from what I was told were typically from Fentanyl dealers to their suppliers, OR scamming the elderly.

I realize that is not what is happening to this couple, and trusting online banking is a step not everyone wants to take, and the police confiscating cash without saying why is a shitty situation, but anyone who talked to a real person as they are shipping a package full of money likely got told TO NOT.

I’ve done some digging and at least one place on the FedEx website lists currency as a prohibited item. And it looks like the post office may (as they do with several things) have a legal hold on shipping money, but even they won’t ship over $500.

AGAIN not saying that it’s right, and certainly not a lawyer, but this IS a legal grey area and while I do believe FedEx should have an easier to find list of prohibited items, if they had talked to a human employee , if their customers had talked to a human employee, they likely would have been told to not ship money, period, let alone large quantities of money.

civil forfeiture is possibly one of the most idiotic and fucked things that has ever existed like every case of cops just stealing people's shit and keeping it regardless of whether they've been convicted of a crime is always egregious but this shit… sweeping hundreds of thousands of packages in a shipping hub???? fucking unreal

Unfortunately, Coke changed their recipe in 1903/4 to lessen the amount of cocaine per bottle, then again in 1929 to remove cocaine, that coupled with Tom being disliked and raised in an orphanage primarily during the Great Depression… well he would have only had 3ish year to have had any sort of cocaine filled Coke… that being said, JK likes to change the rules of her cannon o a whim, so sure it could be cannon. Or more probably, he may have been given coke or beer as a way to force him to fall asleep as a baby, as drugging children was a documented method of forcing children to behave during the early 20th century.

this all being said, a fic about Tom Riddle being born addicted to cocaine due to his mother drinking it while pregnant and his attempts to be more than his addiction despite multiple adults (matron and Dumbles etc) telling him that’s all he would be? That’s a fic I’d love to read💖

The first coke ad in the UK was in the 1910s. Can we then, infer, that Tom must definitely have had atleast one bottle of straight cocaine leaf water, canonically?

Funny things writing has done to me pt1

I officially cannot stand ping-pong dialogue. People don’t sit still when they talk and if someone does, it’s NOTE WORTHY. Adding action makes people seem more alive. And it’s officially become a pet peeve, because one of my favorite fics right now does this, and I’m torn between loving the fic, and desperately wanting to know more about their emotions while they have the same 2-3 conversations over and over again.

hi, all.. i know that a lot of our focus is on the BlackLivesMatter movement atm (which is wonderful and should’ve happened a long time ago), and i hate to distract you from that, but there’s something horrible happening in my country, the Philippines (yes, the one being lead by the so-called Filipino version of Donald Trump), right now.

our national government has passed a bill that’ll essentially take away our constitutional rights to freedom of speech and fair trial. it’s called the Anti-Terrorism Bill, but we’ve dubbed it Terror Bill. here’s a summary of what it entails:

if you want to read the actual bill in its entirety, here’s a link to the official Senate of the Philippines website, where you can download a pdf copy. i’d like you to keep in mind the political climate in our country, though, and just how rampant corruption and police brutality are here.

it has already been passed by the Senate; all it needs is the House of Representatives’ approval, and it will be enforced. if you want to help stop this from happening, here are a few ways:

sign and share this petition. we’re so close to 300,000 signatures!!!

send e-mails to the Office of the President and the Senate. there’s an e-mail protest currently going on. i have qualms about copy-pasting the message, but ultimately, this method is a lot more effective than petitions:

Vampire Theory:

There is a vampire out there who journals every day so they can remember things better, but the acts of writing things down and then re-reading journal once finished solidifies everything in their memory, and the journals get 'lost'. Two (or more) find their way into a second hand bookshop (because people are nosy and enjoy reading other's diaries) and the owner idly flipping through the books makes a connection... but these books span a slightly unreasonable amount of time. Owner decides to search the interwebs for more, and jokingly mentions it to their definately human who only goes out at night friend. (feedings read like love sceens to make it more lurid and enticing to prying eyes)
