Why do none of you ever tell me how cringey my writing is—
18yo arc
Elise forced Dazai and Chuuya to play with her. Little did they know, they were in for a treat. She made them play “family” with her and Q. Chuuya was the mom, Dazai was the dad, Q and Elise were the kids. They forced them to “get married” for the game. So they held a fake wedding. But— Uh—
Elise made them sign a real marriage certificate without them knowing. Also using real wedding rings she stole. So, for the next 4 years of them not seeing each other, they had still been married. Without knowing it. Later, when they started working together again, they both noticed that they both had kept the ring.
ꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄꨄ
“I hate you” Chuuya mumbled to Dazai. “I didn’t even do anything???” Chuuya just rolled his eyes. “If it weren’t for you then we wouldn’t be baby sitting these two little shits” Chuuya grumbled. “We didn’t even have a choice in the matter.” Dazai said, rolling his eyes. “What ever.” Chuuya crossed his arms.
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
The two had been forced to babysit Elise and Q for the day. Of course Elise had to be a little shit and come up with the most dumbest thing to play.
Family.
Therefore, Elise and Q let (forced) Dazai and Chuuya to act as parents while they themselves took on the roles of children.
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
“So? What do you want us to do exactly…?” Chuuya hesitantly ask the two children. “Well! Me and Q with be the children, while you and Dazai act as our dads!” Elise explained with a shit eating grin. “Why?” Dazai grimaced. “Because I said so” Elise replied with annoyance. “Dazai, Let’s just get this over with…” Chuuya mumbled. “Whatever” Dazai rolled his eyes.
About an hour later they were still playing ‘family’ when Elise stood up. “Where are you going?” Chuuya asked, voice filled with curiosity. Elise turned and grinned at him. “Oh, I’m just getting something! I’ll be right back.” She then trotted away out of her room. “The hell is she about to do—” Dazai mumbled.
“Q, Do you know what she’s planning?” Chuuya asked, turning to face the younger boy. Q just grinned. “Yep!” Dazai and Chuuya both glanced at each other, knowing that whatever Elise is planning, is gonna be bad. Dazai sighed. “Well, shit…”
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
Well, Shit is right!
Chuuya and Dazai looked at Elise with wide eyes, confused and shocked by her idea. Elise walked back in with papers in her hands, but they couldn’t tell what they were. She grinned with an evil smile her child mind and conjure up.
“No” Chuuya firmly stated, crossing his arms with a determined look. “Yes” Elise grinned at him. “Absolutely not, you two.” Dazai said, glaring at Q and Elise. The reason Dazai and Chuuya were denying this request was a simple reason. When Elise had walked back into the room, she had been holding papers. When she sat down in front Dazai and Chuuya, she showed them the papers and what they said.
Dazai and Chuuya took notice at Elise grinning menacingly at them, then looked at the papers carefully and quickly realized that these weren’t just any papers but they were un signed marriage certificates. “Elise, Why do you have fake marriage certificate?” Chuuya hesitantly asked. Then Dazai added. “why are you giving them to us?” Elise grinned at Dazai and Chuuya. “We’re playing family, so you two should get married!” Their eyes went wide.
“What?!” Chuuya yelled. “I’m absolutely not gonna marry Chuuya!” Dazai said. “But it’s not even real!” Elise whined. “No, absolutely not.” Chuuya said.
Ok, Elise will just have to do what she always does when she wants something. “PLEASE!!! Please, Please, Plea—” “Alright!” Chuuya yelled. “We’ll do it, just shut your mouth…” Dazai mumbled. Elise and Q clapped their hands in joy. “Ok! I’ll act as the priest!” Q said. “I’ll be the ring bearer!” Elise said as she took two rings out her pocket. “Why do you have 2 rings already—” Chuuya muttered. “Let’s just get this over with.” Dazai said, standing up.
They all do the whole ceremony thing, whatever you do at weddings.
“Do you, Dazai Osamu, Take Chuuya Nakahara as your lawfully wedded husband?” Q asked, pretending to be the priest. Dazai rolled his eyes. “I do, I guess.” Q looked at Chuuya. “And do you, Chuuya Nakahara, take Osamu Dazai as your lawfully wedded husband?” Chuuya rolled his eyes and clenched his jaw. “I do…” Elise and Q smiled. “You may now kiss the—” They both interrupted Q. “No” they both did not want to kiss. Even for the fake marriage. Elise frowned. “Yea. This is how weddings work, you’re supposed to kiss.” “Well this isn’t a real wedding.” Dazai spat out. “Do it or I’ll throw away your canned crab” Elise threatened. “Chuuya, I’ll also throw away your hat collection, so kiss each other.” Dazai and Chuuya glared at her. “Just do it!”
They both sighed. Quickly, Chuuya grabbed Dazai’s collar with his hands, softly pulling him forward. They paused for a second before Their lips finally met. It was short and sweet…although, not short enough for either of them to forget. Ever. They’d never admit it but they were both a bit disappointed when it ended.
Elise and Q clapped their hands. Elise stood up and held out a pen with the papers she brought. “Now, just sign these papers and your fake marriage will be complete. They both rolled their eyes and signed their names on the ‘fake’ marriage certificate. Well…what they didn’t know was that, those marriage certificates? They weren’t fake. So, Chuuya and Dazai were actually married but they didn’t know.
Until years later…
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
“Hey, Dazai?” Yosano called out to Dazai.
They were at the agency, do paper work and all that. Kenji was showing Kyoka his plants, Kunikida was writing a report, Dazai was…kinda writing a report, Ranpo was just eating sweets, Atsushi was going over some files and Tanizaki was writing some stuff down in a journal. Yosano had just walked out the clinic and had a ring in her hand. “Yes Yosano?” He answered. “You left your ring on one of the bedside tables.” She holds up the ring. It’s a pretty ring, it had three light blue diamonds on it. One in the middle and two smaller ones next to it.
“Oh! Thank you!” He quickly got up and walked over to her. She handed it to him and he quick put in on his finger and walked back to his desk. “So, why do you have the ring?” Yosano asked. Dazai stiffened. He quickly went back to his child like composure. “Oh, it’s nothing! I just found it on the street a while back.” They all knew that was a lie. “That’s a big lie” Ranpo said with a smirk. “Whatever do you mean, Ranpo?” Dazai tries to hide behind a clueless look, but it was obvious he was hiding something.
“You didn’t just pick up that ring in the sidewalk, We know you have it for a different reason.” Ranpo said. Dazai crossed his arms and pouted. “C’mon Dazai, Tells us why you have the ring!” Kenji chimed in with a smile. “I have to admit, I am quite curious.” Kunikida said. “Dang, you have Kunikida interested in this so you’ve gotta tell us now.” Yosano said with a grin.
Dazai rolled his eyes. “Fine. I’ll tell you.” He sighed and fiddled with the ring. “Well, for one, I’ve had this ring since I was in the Mafia. Mori decided to have me and Chuuya baby sit Q and Elise while he had some big important mission.” Dazai started to explain. “Elise made us play family.” He said, rolling his eyes. “So, we eventually did. For some reason she gets up and left, coming back a few minutes later with papers on her hands.” He pulled the ring off his finger and onto another. “Turns out, she for some reason had fake marriage certificates. So, she made us pretend to get married. I still don’t know why she just had them lying around. Anyway, she made us have a wedding, made us kiss, then made us sign the fake marriage certificates.” Dazai then finished his explanation, looking around at all the confused and shocked faces.
“Wait, you and Chuuya kissed?!” Yosano asked with a smirk. “Elise forced us.” Dazai said. “Why’d you keep the ring?” Atsushi inquired. Dazai went quiet. That’s a good question. Why did he kept the ring? Why didn’t he throw the ring out when he left the Mafia? “I dont know, I never thought about.” Dazai said, then Ranpo smirked. “Dummy.” Yosano stifled a laugh. “And why do you say that, Ranpo?” Dazai asked, raising an eyebrow. “Because I know why you kept the ring, so don’t ask me why because you need to figure that out on your own.” Ranpo grinned.
“Wow, you’re truly evil” Dazai sarcastically said. Ranpo just smiled. “Alright, everyone go back to work.” Kunikida said.
After that, it was never brought up again….at least not for a while.
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
Chuuya walked out his apartment and shut the door. He started walking away but then quickly turned back. “Shit—” He ran inside and went straight to his room. He opened his nightstand and immediately grabbed a ring, putting it on. “How the fuck did I almost for get this…” he mutter to himself. Eventually he made his way to the Port Mafia and went to his office.
About two hours later Elise walks into his office with a box of files. “Hello Chuuya!” She greeted him. “What’s going on?” He asked as she set down the box of files. “Mori doesn’t have a job for you yet so he said that you should at least do something and not be bored. He told me to get a box of files and have you look through them, throwing out the ones we don’t need.” She explained. “Hm…alright, thank you Elise.” She smiled at walk out of his office, shutting the door behind her.
Chuuya opened the box to find a bunch of files, all in Alphabetical order. Around 20 minutes of looking through the files and reading each one, he noticed a file that didn’t have anything written on it. “That’s weird…” he grabbed it and opened it. When he took the papers out of it, his eyes went wide. It was the fake marriage certificates!
He moved the other stuff out the way and set the papers down on his desk in front of him. He glanced at the ring on his finger, then back to the papers. He spaced out for a moment, fidgeting with the ring. He remembers that day as if it was just an hours ago. He could still feel the soft and warmth of Dazai’s lips on his. He remembered how his chest felt a pain on annoyance when the kiss stopped. He knew why he felt that pain…he knew from the moment it happened. He knew why it annoyed him when the kiss stopped. He just never wanted to admit…
He took off his ring and admired it for a bit, thinking about all the dumb stuff him and Dazai use to do. Back then, he wanted to throw it away. He tried to throw it away. After the day they babysat Q and Elise, he just threw the ring in a drawer. Never thought about it again.
A while later he had a mission. He had to go over seas for a bit. He went digging around his drawers to find an old pen. He never found it. What he did find, however…well, that threw his mind off. He found the ring in the back of the drawer, buried under some other random junk. He grabbed it and looked at it. “I forgot you…” he muttered. He looked at the time, realizing he has to leave. Without thinking, he put the ring on and left.
When he came back from his mission, he was not expecting to see what he saw. He saw how Mori was annoyed. How Elise and Q seemed off. How Kouyou avoided his gaze, hoping he wouldn’t see the sorry in her eyes. He didn’t understand why she looked sorry. But what confused him the most was that he hadn’t been bugged by an annoying asshole as soon as he came back.
Then he found out.
He found out that Dazai was gone. That they couldn’t find him. The worst part is that for a while…no one knew if he was dead or not. Some people thought he had just left and was a traitor. Some think he died. And Chuuya….
Chuuya didn’t know what to think. Different thoughts were going through his head. Half of Chuuya was angry. Angry that Dazai didn’t tell him he was leaving. But part of him was also scared….scared that Dazai actually decided to stop playing around. Stop playing around with his failed suicides. He thought that Dazai had gone somewhere no or could find him…just so he could finally commit suicide. Chuuya did t know ow if he was alive or dead.
And that scared. Holy shit, it scared him. He couldn’t deny it anymore. He couldn’t deny the feeling of dread every time Dazai tries to kill himself. He couldn’t deny the feeling of relief when it didn’t work. He hated himself for worrying about him. He hated the fact that he wanted to search for him, all day, everyday, just to find some sort of confirmation that Dazai was still alive. He hated how he actually did search for him.
That night when he came back, his car had been exploded. In the middle of him almost having a mental breakdown, his fucking car blows up. Great. More annoyance. Chuuya still kept searching. For anything that lets him know Dazai is at least alive. He wasn’t sure of it…until about a month later.
He was mad. He thought he’d be happy but he was furious. Happy, furious, sad…abandoned…
He saw Dazai walking along the street. He saw he had a new coat and he didn’t have that bandage on his face anymore. He hated the fact that he loved that Dazai looked healthier. He saw Dazai smile, but he knew that smile. That was a fake smile. One that could fool anyone. Well…anyone but Chuuya.
Later, Chuuya stormed into his apartment and quickly opened some wine, drinking straight from the bottle. He didn’t realize he was crying until after he felt the tears drip on his hands. He looked down and saw the ring. It made him angry and sad at the same time. He didn’t know what to feel.
He was happy for Dazai, he truly was! He just wished he was happy around Chuuya. Instead of leaving the port mafia to be happy, he also left Chuuya. That made Chuuya pissed.
He took another big gulp of the wine sat it down, walking over to think sink. He quickly turned on the garbage disposal and took off his ring.
He froze.
Cmon, drop it…drop it! Damn it! Just fucking drop it already!
He couldn’t…he knew he couldn’t…
It was basically the only thing he had left that would remind him of Dazai. As pitiful as that sounds, he honestly couldn’t give a shit. All he could think about was how much he wanted his partner back…
Fuck…why did you have to make me remember these thing…he thought to himself. He looked back at the papers, reading them.
The truth is—He and Dazai never actually read the papers. They just wrote their names down where Elise told them to.
Big mistake.
He read the papers and his eyes went wide. These weren’t fake certificates…these were real…Legally, he was married to Dazai?! “What the fuck—” Chuuya’s head spun in circles so fast. He couldn’t believe what he just read. “Holy shit— fuck fuck fuck—” Chuuya stood up and grabbed the papers, storming out of his office. He quickly walked out the Port and shouted the papers on his pocket. He got on his motorcycle and drove straight to the agency.
ꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺꕺ
“Ugh! Can we do something else? This is boring!” Dazai complained. He had paper work to do but didn’t want to do them. “It’s just 5 papers, You’ll be fine.” Atsushi said, rolling his eyes. “Paper work is boring.” Dazai grumbled. “Dazai, just do it and get it over with.” Yosano said. “Ugh. Why can something interesting happen?” He rhetorically asked.
Just then, the sound of the office door slammed opened. They all stand ik and look to see Chuuya standing in the door frame. “Dazai!” He yelled. “Chibi?” Dazai was truly surprised to see him here. “What exactly are you doing here? We have a truce with you guys so you can’t just—” Chuuya ignored what Kunikida was saying and walkover over to Dazai and dumped the 2 papers on his desk.
“What’s brought you here, Chibi?” Dazai asked smugly. “I found these papers.” He said, pointing to the papers he put on Dazai’s desk. “And what are these?” Dazai fiddled with his ring. “Do you remember when Mori had us babysit Q and Elise?” Dazai noded. “Of course I do, why?” He smirked. “Did you ever read what the papers actually said?” He asked. “Of course not. I mean, why would I need to read fake— oh—” Dazai quickly read through the papers, realizing that they both signed real marriage certificates.
“I’ve gotta admit, I didn’t not see this coming.” Dazai said, biting his lip. “Stop biting your lip, we talked about that— anyway, what the hell did we do?!” Chuuya crossed his arms and leaned against Dazai’s desk. “I still wanna know why she had these in the first place…” Dazai had said. “She’s a little shit, of course she’d have real ones.” Chuuya grumbled.
“I feel like an idiot.” Chuuya groaned. “Honestly, me too.” Dazai agreed. They were both so dumb for not reading the papers beforehand. “Seriously though, what do we do? Do we just leave it?” Chuuya muttered. “I mean, there’s not much we can do. We don’t know where she got these from and I doubt she’d even tell us where we have to go to get the other papers.” Dazai had said. “Ugh! I hate her.” Chuuya pouted. Dazai chuckled. “She’s Mori’s ability, of course she’d be a shit head.” “Are we seriously just going to leave it?” Chuuya asked, playing with the ring on his finger.
“I knew it!” The all heard Ranpo yell. “What?” Dazai asked. “Both of you, show me your hands.” Ranpo said. They both looked at each other then showed him their hands. “I knew Dazai wasn’t the only one who kept one of the rings!” Ranpo grinned. Dazai and Chuuya looked at each other, then looked at each others hands. They both saw how the other kept the ring. “Oh wow.” Yosano smirked. “Uh— I’m a bit lost. What are those papers for?” Atsushi asked.
“Apparently me and Chibi are married.” Dazai said, nonchalantly. Chuuya scowled. Everyone’s eyes went wide(other than Ranpo). “Wait what?!” Kunikida yelled in disbelief. “Chill out, glasses.” Chuuya muttered as he took the papers. “You guys remember when I told you the story about why I had the ring?” Dazai asked. They all nodded. “Apparently, the marriage certificates weren’t fake like we thought.” Chuuya said. Yosano and Ranpo exploded with euphoria. “Holy shit! This is one of the best day ever!” Yosano yelled.
“I guess we could just leave it alone.” Dazai quietly said to Chuuya. Chuuya just sighed and nodded.
In all honesty…he wasn’t as upset as he wish he was.
“Hey, you two!” They hear Ranpo call out to them. “You two should go and talk about this.” Ranpo said, smirking. Dazai knew what that meant. Chuuya may not have known Ranpo for long but it was obvious what he meant by that. They knew what he meant when he said to talk about this. Not to talk about the marriage certificates, but….
Their feelings.
They both looked at each other and looked away. Dazai stood up, taking Chuuya’s wrist and dragging him out the door. “What are you doing?!” Chuuya yelled, but he didn’t try to pull his wrist away. “You heard him. We need to talk about ‘this’” Dazai had said, not too quiet but not too loud either. Chuuya sighed. Dazai dragged them to a different office room. They walk in and sit on a desk, not saying a word.
It felt like forever until the silence was broken. “Why didn’t tell me…?” Chuuya mumbled. Dazai looked at him in confusion. "Why didn’t you tell me you were going to leave…?” Chuuya said, a little louder. His voice quivered with a mix of anger and hurt as he stared at the floor. Dazai shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Chuuya's gaze. "I didn't think you would care," he mumbled, barely audible.
Chuuya's eyes widened in disbelief. "Of course I care, you idiot!" he exclaimed, his voice breaking slightly. "You were my partner, Dazai! How could you think I wouldn't care if you just disappeared without a word?" Chuuya let out a deep breath. "You always said you wished I wasn't in your life, so I assumed you wouldn't care when I finally left." Chuuya felt tears welling up in his eyes.
“You’re such an asshole…” Chuuya muttered. “When I…when I came back from my mission…everyone was acting weird…Mori seemed annoyed, Elise and Q seemed sad and Ane-San tried not to look at me…” Chuuya paused, waiting for Dazai to say something. When he didn’t, he continued. “I knew something was wrong but I couldn’t figure out what it was…something else had started to bother me. When you hadn’t tried to bother me all day I…” Chuuya paused, trying his best to not let his voice shake. “I knew something was wrong…” Chuuya sighed. “I had asked Ane-San why everyone seemed off and where you were…” Chuuya breathed in. “When she looked at me…I could tell something happened and it had to do with you…” Chuuya stared at the ground, as if he’s burning holes through them.
“She told me…She told me no one knew where you were…” Chuuya whispered out, desperately trying to not look at Dazai. “Some thought you had just left, as a traitor, including Mori, and others thought you somehow accidentally got yourself killed, and I—” Chuuya stopped. “You what…?” Dazai pleaded him to continue. Chuuya swallowed the lump in his throat, holds back tears that are desperately trying to fall.
“I thought you had gone somewhere so no one would know where you are…I thought you….i thought you finally decided you would stop fooling around and actually decided to kill your self…” Chuuya said that last part quietly, his voice cracking. “Fuck…Dazai, back then I actually thought you killed yourself…” Chuuya paused then slowly turned his head and leaned his forehead against Dazai’s arm, Then Dazai hesitated before he softly placed his hand on Chuuya’s, intertwining them. “I’m sorry I left…” Dazai muttered and Chuuya just shook his head. “No…don’t be…I know why you left…” Chuuya took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he’s about to say.
“Dazai, if you had asked me to…” Chuuya paused, thinking if he should say this, lifting up his head and looked at him, letting the tears fall. “…I would’ve gone with you.” Chuuya whispered. “I know, Chuuya…I know…I just didn’t want to put the burden of you being a traitor on your shoulders…”Chuuya sat straight up and looked at Dazai.
“Dazai, Why didn’t you at least tell me you were going to leave?” Dazai thought for a moment. “I guess i just didn’t know how?” Chuuya frowned. “Dazai, You’re stupid” Dazai just laughed. “Yeah, I know.” Dazai wrapped his arms around Chuuya, running his fingers through his hair. Chuuya reciprocated and hugged him back. They sat there for about five minutes until Dazai spoke.
“How bad was the noise when I left…?” “What noise?” Chuuya looked confused. “Arahabaki.” Chuuya hummed in understanding. “I’ll be honestit kept getting worse to the point where I…I did it again…” Chuuya said. Dazai’s breath hitched, knowing what ‘it’ was. “Can I see…?” Dazai hesitantly asked. Chuuya held out his arm. “Sure…” Dazai sighed before he started to roll up Chuuya’s sleeve. It’s worse than he thought. The cuts on his arm had been more than he thought there would be.
Back then, Chuuya had always had Dazai to silence the screaming Arahabaki kept doing in his head. Before he found out that Dazai could help him, the only way he thought would silence the god inside him, was pain. His arms used to be full of scars. Most of them were self inflicted…
Dazai found out and didn’t like it. So they made a deal. If Arahabaki were to ever get bad enough that Chuuya would need to hurt himself for it to shut up then he would go straight to Dazai. Even the simplest contact could silence it completely.
So when Dazai left…the Self Harm had been worse than ever. “They’re clean…I made sure of it.” Chuuya said, watching Dazai trace the scars on his arm. “Alright….” Dazai’s the only person he’d ever actually let know about the scars. “So…what now?” Chuuya muttered. Dazai didn’t say anything, he just traced his thumb along Chuuya’s scars. Carefully, Dazai lifted Chuuya’s arm up and left a soft but quick kiss on one of the scars. Chuuya froze as Dazai put his arm back down. “Please, don’t hurt yourself again…” Chuuya didn’t say anything, but Dazai knew he agreed. Chuuya instinctively embraced Dazai, nuzzling into his neck and holding him close without hesitation. Dazai reciprocated the embrace. They sat like that for a moment before Dazai spoke. “Fuck…I’ve missed so much more than you realize, Chuuya.”
Without thinking, Dazai cupped Chuuya’s face and kissed him softly. Chuuya froze for a moment, realizing the situation then reciprocated the kiss. They pulled away breathlessly. Chuuya looked into Dazai’s eyes, wanting to say something. “I’m gonna regret saying this but I’ve been in love with you for years…” Dazai just smiled. Chuuya’s face flushed. Dazai gave him another quick kiss and spoke.
“Me too, Chibi…me too…”
Dazai pulls him into one final kiss……

Digging myself a hole because I thought that the colored letters would spell a sentence so I sat here for a good minute before realizing I’m just an idiot
I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

SueGiku — Jouno angst???
☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎☣︎
Summary:
Thunderstorms; Some kids view them as exciting and beautiful, while others find them dreadful and terrifying.
Those fears are for little kids.
Those fears shouldn’t be for adults who have many other things to be scared of. Especially if you’ve only known death your whole life.
↷ꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀꕀ↶
Thunderstorms; Some kids view them as exciting and beautiful, while others find them dreadful and terrifying. For those who enjoy the rumble of thunder and the flash of lightning, a stormy night can be a thrilling experience. The ominous clouds rolling in and the crack of thunder can create a sense of awe and wonder. On the other hand, for those who are scared of the loud noises and the unpredictable nature of thunderstorms, not knowing exactly what it was, can be a time of great anxiety and fear.
Like I said; those fears are for little kids.
Those fears shouldn’t be for adults who have many other things to be scared of. Especially if you’re part of The Hunting Dogs. The group of grown men who have been through pain and misery. Who’ve had many inhumane surgeries to make them stronger.
So why is it that Thunderstorms bother Jouno so much? Although he’d never admit it to anyone. It’s not that he’s scared of them, he just hates them. Being blind is a terrible way to live. Having to focus on your other senses to live. Although at least they are better than others. The feeling of touch is stronger. The sense of smell is stronger.
The ability to hear everything little thing around you is stronger.
That's the advantage of having heightened senses - it makes it easier for Jouno to navigate his surroundings. Being able to hear others quiet footsteps from down the hall. Hearing people breathe loudly when they aren’t. Shit, even hearing one’s heartbeat from across the room, knowing if they’re lying or not. What emotions they feel.
But of course, there are down sides to the loud hearing. If there’s room that’s loud to others, it’s even louder for Jouno. Sometimes painfully loud. He’d never show that it bothers him, he’d always keep his face from flinching.
So you can only imagine what thunder would do. As if loud sounds of drums are right by Jouno’s ears.
Again, it’s not a fear, is it? It mustn’t be. Jouno doesn’t have time for silly children fears.
Just annoyance. That’s it. Totally not a fear.
𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔𐀔
It had been a calm day in the Dorms. That was up until almost midnight when it started to rain. Tachihara, Teruko and Fukuchi had gone to bed a few hours ago, leaving Jouno and Tecchou the only ones awake. The two sat silently in the common area, Jouno reading by running his fingers along the braille words on his book, while Tecchou was finishing up some paperwork.
After a while, the sound of soft taps on the roof could be heard, indicating that it started raining. Jouno didn’t think much of it, until it started to get louder. “Ugh…” Jouno mumbled. Tecchou looked up and spoke. “Everything alright?” Jouno sighed. “The rain is being obnoxiously loud.” He closed the book and set it down on the table next to a glass of water in front of him. He then lowered himself to his side, leaning himself against the arm of the sofa. “I think you should go to bed Jouno, it’s almost midnight.” Tecchou said. Jouno just hummed in response. Jouno continued lying there, making himself comfortable on the couch. “I didn’t mean sleep on the couch—” Tecchou mumbled. Just then, the rain started pouring harder and louder, causing Jouno to scowl in annoyance. He sat up, grabbed the water and took a sip, then put it back down.
“I doubt I can sleep through this—” Jouno was interrupted by a loud bang of thunder, flinching and putting his hands on the sides of his head at the loud sound piercing and hurting his ears. “Jouno?” Tecchou said in concern. “Shit…” Jouno mumbled as he took his hands away from his ears.
“Damn it! Tecchou saw me flinch…” Jouno thought to himself, quickly trying to regained his composure, hoping Tecchou didn’t actually notice. “Jouno, Did you just—” Tecchou started. “Shut up Tecchou.” Jouno snapped. Another clap of thunder came, louder than the first, Jouno flinched and covered his ears again, hissing at the pain as It shook the whole building. His heart was beating fast, his body slightly but still noticeably shaking. Taking deep breath, Jouno sat crisscrossed and grabbed the glass of water and took a sip before putting it back down.
He flinched again as two more loud claps of thunder echoed through the sky. He covered his ears at the painful sound. He didn’t notice Tecchou sat beside him until he felt a hand on his shoulder. “Jouno, what’s wrong?” He asked, voice filled with worry. “I’m fine.” Another sound of thunder, louder than the last one struck. “Damn it!” “Jouno, what’s going on?” Tecchou asked, taking his hand away from Jouno’s shoulder. Jouno placed his hands in his lap.
“Jouno, please tell me what’s wrong.” Tecchou asked. “Don’t ever repeat this to anyone.” Jouno said. “I won’t, I promise.” Tecchou reassured. Jouno mumbled, not loud enough for Tecchou to hear. “Sorry, can you repeat that? I couldn’t hear you.” Tecchou asked. Jouno sighed. “I hate thunderstorms.” He said, louder this time.
“You’re scared of thunderstorms?” Tecchou asked in disbelief. “I’m not scared, I just despise them.” Jouno said. “Can I know why?” Tecchou asked. “Thunders too loud, it hurts my ears.” Jouno explained. “Is it because your hearing is heightened?” Tecchou asked. Jouno nodded, then winced and covered his ears as another sound of thunder hit. “It’s like drums are inside my ears.”
“Hm…what do you usually do when this happens?” Tecchou asked as he crisscrossed his legs. “I just wait till it’s over…” Jouno said, he covered his ears again as thunder struck louder than the others, causing a quiet whine from him. “Shit…why’s it so much louder and painful this time…” Jouno bit his lip in frustration. He felt Tecchou stand up from the couch. “Where are you going?” Jouno asked, sounding more scared than he’d like, his voice trembling. “Come on, let’s go to my room.” Tecchou said. “Why…?” Jouno asked, slowly standing up to follow him. “My room makes everything outside quieter so I figured if you tried to sleep there it would help just a little bit.” Tecchou said, softly putting his hand on Jouno’s arm.
ꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤꕤ
As they walked down the halls, Jouno still kept his hands over his ears, bracing himself for anymore thunder. The two eventually made their way to Tecchou’s room. When they walked in, Jouno noticed that Tecchou was right. It was quieter in his room. “I guess you’re right, it is quieter in here.” Jouno said as he sat on Tecchou’s bed. “Jouno, you doing okay now?” Tecchou asked. “I’m fine…thank you Tecchou.” Jouno hesitantly thanked him. “It’s nothing.” Tecchou said as he turned off the small lamp.
“What time is it?” Jouno asked. “Almost 1am.” Tecchou answered. “No wonder I feel drowsy.” Jouno yawned. Tecchou climbed on the bed and got under the covers. “Where do you want me to sleep…?” Jouno hesitantly asked. “On the bed.” Tecchou tiredly mumbled. Jouno’s face flushed. He cautiously got himself comfortable under the covers, keeping a bit of distance between him and Tecchou. “You don’t need to be so tense.” Tecchou said, eyes closed as he pulled Jouno closer to him.
Jouno hesitantly moved himself closer, letting Tecchou wrap his arms around him, head pressed against Tecchou’s chest, easily hearing his heart beat. “Just listen to my heart beat and ignore the thunder.” Tecchou muttered. Jouno slowly relaxed, leaning closer and hummed in comfort as Tecchou thread his fingers through Jouno’s hair. “What the hell is happening” Jouno thought to himself. As much as Jouno hates to admit it, Tecchou’s touch was comforting, something he could get used to, but he hated how he doesn’t mind feeling vulnerable with him right now. With their bodies against each other, Jouno was sure that Tecchou could feel his heart beating faster than usual.
Jouno finally realized he’s in love with Tecchou. The guy he always despised.
“Holy shit…I’m in love with Tecchou…” Jouno thought, burying his face in the other’s chest trying not to smile, Tecchou could feel him smiling. “Jouno, are you ok?” “I’m fine…thank you for this…” Jouno replied tiredly. “I could feel you smiling—” “shut up”. Without thinking, Jouno lifted his head up to face Tecchou, he couldn’t see, but he knew Tecchou was looking at him. “Jouno, are you alright?” Tecchou asked.
“There’s something I wanna do...” Jouno said. “What is it?” Tecchou asked. “Yes or no?” Jouno said. “What?” Tecchou’s face turned into confusion. “Pick between yes or no.” Jouno said, sitting up, Tecchou sitting up as well. “…yes” Tecchou said, Jouno’s breath hitched. “Please don’t hate me after this…” Jouno muttered, slowly cupping Tecchou’s face.
Tecchou could see the guilt in Jouno's eyes as he braced himself for whatever was about to happen. Jouno took a deep breath and leaned in, pressing his lips against Tecchou's in a soft, gentle kiss. Tecchou was taken aback at first, but soon found himself melting into the kiss. The softness of their lips against his, the warmth of their embrace enveloping him in a whirlwind of emotions. It was as if time had stopped, and all that existed in that moment was the two of them, locked in a passionate embrace. He felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins, his heart pounding in his chest as he deepened the kiss, losing himself in the sensation.
Tecchou broke the kiss, lightly tugging at Jouno’s bottom lip. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that, Jouno.” Tecchou whispered against his lips. Jouno’s shuttered at the feeling of Tecchou’s breath against his skin, heart racing dramatically. “I take it, you don’t hate me.” Jouno’s mumbled. “I could never hate you Jouno, it’s quite the opposite actually.” Tecchou chuckled. “So…what now?” Jouno whispered. “What would you like to do?” Tecchou asked. “I don’t know, I didn’t think I’d get this far.” Jouno said as he tilted his head down. Tecchou laughed.
“Well, I think we should talk about this, we clearly have feelings for each other.” Tecchou said. Jouno slowly nodded. “How long have you been in love with me…?” Jouno asked. “About a year after meeting you.” Tecchou admitted. “Really…?!” Jouno said with shocked expression. “Yeah, I never said anything because I genuinely thought you hated me.” Tecchou said. “I can’t hate you even if I tried.” Jouno said. “How about you, How long have you been in love with me?” Tecchou asked. “Uh…I actually realized it like 30 seconds before I kissed you…but now that I think about it, I’ve probably been in love with you for a while.” Jouno admitted. “Hm…”
Tecchou thought for a moment before he gently took Jouno’s chin between his fingers. “Jouno, Can I kiss you again?” Jouno silently wrapped his arms around Tecchou, pressing their bodies together, kissing him passionately.

I still want it
I still want to see Mori’s childhood. I want him to have the most disgusting, diabolical, disturbing, terrifying, sad, childhood.

Aged Down
❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀
Mori Ougai. The Port Mafia Boss. Is now……7?!
Following an encounter with an ability user, Mori was transformed into a 7-year-old child. The remaining members of the Port Mafia were at a loss for how to proceed, so they panicked and fled to the agency out of desperation.
✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿
“What. The. Actual. Fuck.” Tachihara mumbled. Chuuya, Kouyou, Tachihara, Gin, Akutagawa, and Higuchi heard a loud crash coming from Mori’s office. They ran and opened the door to see and very confused, very young, Mori. He was sitting on the desk, his clothes were way too big on him and were falling off.
“No fucking way….” Akutagawa muttered in disbelief. “Uh— And-San? What do we do?” Chuuya looked over to her. Kouyou approached the now, younger Mori slowly, but stopped in her tracks with a surprised and concerned look when she noticed him flinch with fear in his eyes.
“Did— did he just flinch…?” Higuchi exclaimed in disbelief. “Ok…that’s…..concerning…” Gin mumbled. Chuuya and Akutagawa nodded in agreement. “Um….What should we do now?” Higuchi asked.
They all looked at Mori and he looked terrified. Far more terrified than they’d imagine anyone could be. He was looking them, his eyes wide and brimming with tears, his knees to his chest, tight. He was shaking with fear.
“Huh….that’s….weird….” Kouyou muttered. “He looks….terrified?” Higuchi said. “I’m still wondering why he looks 7.” Gin said. “You’re right. How the hell did an ability user manage to get into his office….?” Akutagawa said. “Not sure…..” Kouyou mumbled.
“We could ask Atsushi and the rest of the ADA for help?” Gin suggested. “Atsushi? Since when did you call him by his first name?” Her brother eyed her. “Because I’m kind and don’t try and kill him every five seconds.” She grinned. He just rolled his eyes.
“No. No way am I asking that mackerel for help! He’ll never let it go!” Chuuya protested. Kouyou sighed. “Chuuya. We don’t have time to listen to your dumb feelings for Dazai—” “What?!” “—we have bigger issues to worry about.” She shook her head.
“Chuuya, call Dazai. Tell him we are gonna be at the agency soon and we will explain everything when we get there.” She told him. “Fine….” Chuuya walked out and dialed Dazai’s number, which no one dared to question why he still had it even after Dazai left.
Kouyou walks towards a terrified Mori, speaking softly. “Mori…I’m not sure if you remember but I’m Kouyou…this is Higuchi, Tachihara, Akutagawa, and Gin.” Despite her soft voice, the boy's face remained filled with terror. He hugged himself tighter.
“P…please…I didn’t— I didn’t mean to leave— I just— I don’t know how I got here— please, you have to believe me— I wouldn’t try and escape on purpose— please don’t tell Mr. Thorne! I’ll do anything— just don’t tell him I’m out of the cage, I didn’t mean to! I woke up here! Please— please believe me!—” tears were now rolling down his face, his fear worse than before.
They all looked at each other in shock and confusion.
“Did he say cage….?” Chuuya asked as he walked back in the room, hearing everything. “Yeah….” Him muttered. “The hell does that even mean….?” Tachihara asked. “I don’t know….but I know it’s not a good thing…” Kouyou said. “Chuuya, what did Dazai say?” Chuuya crossed his arms. “To shorten it, he said ok.” Kouyou just hummed in acknowledgment.
Gin slowly walked up to him and held out her hands. “It’s alright, we won’t tell anyone. It’s not your fault…..” she lightly grabbed his hands, so much smaller than hers. He calmed down a bit more.
The closer she was now the easier it was to see all the bruises, cuts, and dried blood on his collar bone. Along with some marks on his legs. She gasped at the sight. Still holding his hands, she turned her head to the others.
“There are many cuts and bruises on his collarbone. A lot of dried blood as well.” She muttered and looked back at him. “I’m gonna pick you up, ok?” His eyes widened. “Don’t worry, you’re not going back in….in the cage. We are taking you to a safer place, ok?” Her heart broke when she saw the relief in his face. She slowly picked him up, his arms immediately wrapping around her neck.
“Higuchi, Kouyou, can I borrow your hair ties? I wanna tighten his clothes so they’re not fall off him at much.” They both nodded and gave her their hair ties. She sat Mori back down on the table and tied his shirt and pants, making them tight enough to say on him.
“Alright. I guess we head to the Agency?” Higuchi said. Gun picked Mori back up. “Yup”
✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿
“Dazai, do your work. It’s not that hard.” “But Kunikidaaaa!!! The work is boring!” Dazai whined. Kunikida just sighed. “Dazai, I swear—” he was cut off my Dazai’s phone ringing. Dazai picked up his phone to see who it was. He was actually shocked to see the Chibi calling him. “Chibi…?” Dazai picked up the phone.
“Hello there Chibi! What caused this surprising call?” Dazai grinned. “I don’t have time to explain now but me, Ane- San, Akutagawa, Gin, Higuchi, and Tachihara are coming over to the agency because we need your help with something. I’ll explain everything when we get there, bye!” He hung up.
“What the actual hell—” Dazai blinked in confusion. “What was that about?” Tanizaki asked. “Chuuya and a few people from the mafia are coming here abuse they need our help. He didn’t tell me what he needed though, only that he’ll explain when he gets here.”
They all just looked at him, unamused. “I’ll go let the president know. Although, I am quite curious about what they could need?” Yosano said as she walked out to the presidents office.
✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿
Mori hand his arms tight around Gin, holding on for dear life as the entered the building. “So, what do we exactly do?” Tachihara asked. “I don’t know, we’ll figure something out. That annoying guy who is always with the guy with the raccoon will probably figure something out.” Chuuya said, rolling his eyes.
They make it to the door of the office and Kouyou knocks. They wait for a moment before Yosano opened the door. “Welcome! Dazai told us you’d all be coming— what the hell—” her eyes widened at the sight of a young Mori in Gin’s arms. “Do I even wanna know—” she let them walk in. All eyes turned to them. All in shock. Yes. Dazai and Ranpo, also.
“What is that—” Dazai erupted into laughter. “Dazai, shut your damn mouth!” Dazai laughed even more. “Why— why did you guys bring a child in here?!” He laughed louder. Mori had so much fear in his eyes as he stared at Dazai— well…Dazai’s jacket. “Mr. Thorne…you…you said you wouldn’t take me back—”
Mori started to panic. That coat. It looks exactly like Mr. Thorne’s….
They looked at him. Confused. All of them were staring at him. He was scared. They were gonna hurt him again. Why’d he trust them. He knew shouldn’t have. He should’ve seen it was a trick. He kicked his way out of Gin’s arms, running out of the office.
“Shit!” Chuuya yelled. “Okay, seriously— what’s going on?” Kunikida asked. “And who was that child?” Kenji asked. The mafiosos looked at each other. “That was Mori.” Kouyou said. Everyone looked shocked. Well— everyone but Ranpo.
“Well, duh. That was obvious.” He said, rolling his eyes and popping a sour gummy worm in his mouth. “Shut up” Yosano said, rolling her eyes and hitting the back of his head. Kouyou explained everything to them.
“Um….are we gonna go look for him or just let him wander around the building?” Tanizaki asked. “He couldn’t have gone that far. Let’s all split up.” Kouyou said.
“Atsushi, Akutagawa, Kyoka and Kenji, You all go on the top floor, Tanizaki, Tachihara, Ranpo and Kunikida will search this floor, Yosano, Higuchi, Gin, you’re with me. Dazai and Chuuya will search the bottom floor.” Kouyou said. “I don’t wanna be paired with this mackerel!” Chuuya yelled. “Yeah, I don’t wanna be near the Chibi any longer than needed!” Dazai yelled.
“Who you calling Chibi?!” Chuuya yelled in his face. “What? You couldn’t hear me down there?” Dazai grinned.
“Is this normal….?” Atsushi asked Akutagawa. “You have no idea.” He sighed.
“Boys, be quiet!” Kouyou yelled and they froze, shutting their mouths. She sighed. “Thank you. Now, let’s go find Mori. Who the hell knows how scared he is.” Dazai raised an eyebrow. “Scared? Why the hell would he be scared?”
They Mafioso’s look at each other. “We aren’t too sure but he looked terrified every time we tried to get near him. I managed to get close enough to where he let me pick him up but uh….he had many….many bruises and cuts on him…” Gin explained.
“He also said something about not wanting to go back into a cage. Whatever that means…” Chuuya added. “Um….I saw him look at Dazai’s coat and he muttered something about a man named Mr. Thorne?” Kenji said.
“No fucking way…..” Ranpo muttered, his eyes going wide. “What?” Kunikida turned to him. “Holy shit, there’s no way.” Ranpo turned to his computer and searched something. His eyes widened. “Fuck….”
“What? What is it?” Kunikida walked over to Ranpo’s computer and looked at the screen.
“Kenji, you said he said something about Mr. Thorne?” Ranpo asked. “Yeah?” Ranpo sighed and started reading “Hareji Thorne.”
“Hareji Thorne was arrested and executed 28 years ago for child experimentation. He would use methods such as subjecting the children to dangerous chemicals, performing invasive surgeries, and conducting cruel psychological experiments.”
“Still no clue how long this had been going on, we’d only found around 25 of the children he’s experimented on. We’ve estimated that he’s experimented on at least more than 60 kids, most ages 5-13, but one 4 year old. We’ve only gotten six of the children’s names.”
“Anya Marishina, 7 years old, female. Ashoka Fiolani, 11 years old, female. Shota Katsu, 8 years old, male. Katshi Fathra, 6 years old, male. Altoah Fushimiro, 11 years old, male…..” he be paused.
“Who is the sixth…?” Kenji asked.
“….Mori Ōgai, 4 years old, male….” They all froze. Now that— that was not what they expected.
“Let’s go find him now…..” Kouyou said. They all split up in their groups and started looking for him.
❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀
Terrified, Mori frantically kicked his legs to get out of Gin’s arms. He managed to get out and ran out the door, down the hall.
He should’ve known. He should’ve known they would lie. He should’ve known that there was no hope. It was foolish of him to believe he could get away from that lab.
He ran down the hallway, to the last door and opened it, running inside, slamming the door shut behind him and he slammed his back against a desk. He let tears roll down his face and he slid down and sat against the desk, pulling his knees to him.
“Um…” He heard a voice and frantically crawled away from the desk turning around to see a confused man sitting behind it. He sobbed and crawled backwards, his back hitting the door.
“Uh— who are you?” Fukuzawa asked, standing up. He walked towards Mori but stopped when he saw him trying to grab the handle to open the door. Mori sobbed and lost his grip.
“Woah— calm down.” He crouched down in front of him. “Calm down, it’s ok.” He didn’t move any farther. He stayed there, waiting for Mori to calm down. Around 6 minutes later Mori was halfway calm. He still had tears down his face but he wasn’t freaking out.
“Are you all right now?” Fukuzawa asked with a calm voice. Mori stared at him for a moment before nodding his head. “Now, can you tell me your name?I’m Fukuzawa Yukichi.” He waited for the other to speak. “Mori Ōgai….” He said in a whisper, his voice breaking a little.
Fukuzawa’s eyes widened. Mori? How?
“Okay Mori. How old are you?” “S…seven.” Fukuzawa sighed. Do you wanna tell me what you’re doing here?” Mori just shook his head. “Ok. That’s ok.” He sat criss crossed. “Are you ok?” Mori shrugged.
Mori’s eyes started to close but he snapped them back open. Fukuzawa reached his arms out slowly. “You tired…?” Mori just stared at his open arms. After a moment of hesitation, he slowly moved his way to Fukuzawa. Fukuzawa picked him up slowly and pulled him on his left leg. Mori leaned his head on Fukuzawa collarbone, hands gripping his shirt. He closed his eyes.
Fukuzawa noticed all the bruises and cuts on him. He sighed, remembering when he found out about Mr. Thorne and what he’d done.
Eventually Mori fell asleep. He looked more peaceful than he’d been in a long time. Fukuzawa can’t remember the last time he saw Mori sleep this peacefully. Fukuzawa slowly scooted himself back until his back hit his desk.
It had been about an hour later and suddenly Mori started glowing and then was back to being an adult again and Fukuzawa wrapped his arms around him, Mori still sleeping in his lap and pulled him closer and Mori buried his head in Fukuzawa’s neck. He slowly ran his fingers through his hair, waiting for him to wake up.
✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿
“Ok— so— he’s gone!” Kouyou said with a sarcastic smile. They had all went searching but couldn’t find him so they went back to the office room.
“There’s on place we haven’t looked.” Tanizaki said. “Where?” Chuuya asked. “Fukuzawa’s office!” Ranpo said. “Wouldn’t Fukuzawa come in here though?” Tanizaki said. “Let’s just check anyway.” Gin said.
❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀
Fukuzawa heard a knock on the door. “Come in” he said quietly. “President, have you seen—” Kunikida froze when he walked in. Everyone looked at him confused.
Fukuzawa was sitting crisscrossed with Mori sitting sideways in his lap. Mori’s head was buried between Fukuzawa’s neck and Fukuzawa had his arms around Mori’s waist.
“What—” Kunikidas jaw dropped. “At least he’s back to normal?” Higuchi said. Ranpo just laughed.
“Do we even wanna know?” Chuuya cringed. “No, I don’t think we do.” Dazai said.
“Fukuzawa, we found something earlier that we think you should know. It has to do with why Mori had a bunch of bruises and cuts on him—” Fukuzawa cut Yosano off. “I know. I know about Mr. Thorne. And Mori.” They all looked surprised. “You do? How?” Dazai asked.
“I just do. Now, since you guys found him, you can leave.” He sarcastically waved his hand. They all looked at each other and walked out the room.
✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿❀✿
It had been about 20 minutes later when Fukuzawa felt Mori stir awake, his arms tightening around Fukuzawa a bit. “Hm…” Mori slowly opened his eyes. “What…Where am I—” Mori lifted his head up, looking at Fukuzawa.
“Hi.” Fukuzawa said. “Why am I sitting in your lap?” Mori asked. “Well, you turned into a child. I’m not too sure how you got to the agency but some of your subordinates were here so I think they brought you here.” Fukuzawa wrapped his arms around Mori’s waist.
“Fuck….how old was I?” Mori had asked. “You said you were 7. They also know about Mr. Thorne. I’m guessing you said something about him and they looked it up. I’m not sure. But you had ran in here hiding from them.” Mori just hummed in response.
“Never thought I’d hear his name again” Mori muttered. “you never have to see him again.” Fukuzawa said. Mori leaned against him, wrapping his arms around his neck and smiled. “Yeah, you’re right.”

❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
Poe's admiration for Ranpo was widely known, except to Ranpo, who ironically, being the greatest detective, was unaware of it. It was surprising for everyone when they discovered that the two of them weren’t dating. They had been close for a long while.
Along with Ranpo not knowing Poe was in love with him, he didn’t know how long he was in love with him. Poe’s been in love with Ranpo ever since they met.
Ranpo had never been to Poe’s home. They’ve always been at Ranpo’s. Poe has never had a need to hide a certain chest of…un sent letters….
Love Letter’s. Years and years of them. Unsent. Poe would write love letters to Ranpo and never give them to him. Too afraid. Worried. Anxious. He had many he tried to give to him, but he backed out every time. So, he would just shove them in a chest, never needed again.
But what if Ranpo were to get curious and look around Poe’s home for the first time and conveniently found the chest?
✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿
“Ed! I’ll be right with you, I just left my hat in your room!” Ranpo told him. Poe just smiled and nodded his head. “Ranpo, dear, I’ll be waiting in the car!” Ranpo smiled and went back inside.
He walked the halls, taking in every bit of Poe’s home. The place was filled with mementos and artifacts from the famous writer's life. As he wandered through the rooms, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and inspiration.
The walls were lined with bookshelves, filled with worn copies of Poe's works. The desk where Poe had penned his most famous stories sat in the corner, covered in papers and auill pens.
He walked into Poe’s room, glancing around trying to find his hat. The room was dimly lit, with dusty bookshelves lining the walls and a faint smell of old paper in the air. Ranpo absolutely loved Poe’s room.
It felt like a sanctuary to him, a place where he could escape from the chaos of the world and lose himself in the words of the greatest author.
He turned towards the closet and went through it.
Snooping around wouldn’t hurt, would it?
He stopped when he found a chest. It wasn’t locked. It was overflowing with letters. Ones that read To My Dear Ranpo.
“To me…?” Ranpo grabbed one of the letters and smiled. He looked at the date. This one was written 2 months ago? He grabbed another one. “A year ago…? Why’d he never give me these…?”
Ranpo picked up another one. Dated for yesterday.
“Huh….” He carefully opened it and began to read the letter.
“To my dear Ranpo; I’m not sure how many of these I’ve written. But I do know it’s a pathetic amount. These letters have piled up for years….”
Ranpo was more than confused. He never had any trouble detecting what Poe was gonna tell him but this…he has no idea what this is about. “What does this even mean….?”
“Yes. Years. I’ve been too much of a coward to give these to you. One day I hope I will. These letters aren’t just any letters….these are all love letters—”
Ranpo’s eyes went wide.
“What— What?!”
Ranpo couldn’t believe it. Poe?
Was in love with…him? How did he not know that?!
“How did you keep this from me….?”
“I’ve always loved you. From the very moment i met you. You were amazing. Your smile lit up the room and your laughter was like something I never knew I needed. I knew right then and there that you were someone special.
And as time went on, my feelings for you only grew stronger. I couldn't imagine my life without you in it. You brought so much joy and happiness into my world. I am grateful every day that I have you bv my side.
I found myself falling for you more and more with each passing day. Your kindness, your intelligence, your sense of humor - everything about you drew me in. I couldn't imagine my life without you in it.”
Ranpo was smiling like an idiot. He never thought he’d be this happy. He was grinning widely as he continued the letter.
“Maybe this letter will be the one you see? You know I’m not very brave so I doubt you’ll ever see this but it’s already too late given all the other ones I wrote. That basically it. I love you, Ranpo. I hope one day you’ll love me too…
—Your rival, Edgar Allen Poe”
“I do…I really do….” Ranpo whispered.
“Ranpo? Are you in here—” Ranpo snapped his head up as Poe walked into the room. Poe’s eyes darted between him and the letter. His eyes went wide. “Wait— how— how much did you read?!” Poe panicked while Ranpo put aside the letter and walked closer to him.
Unexpectedly, Ranpo threw his arms around Poe’s neck, hugging him tight. Poe was surprised at first, but then he slowly hugged him back. Ranpo buried his face in the crook of Poe’s neck and smiled.
“I love you too….” Ranpo whispered on his ear, his voice filled with sincerity and comfort. Poe’s breath hitched and he pulled back, looking at Ranpo with wide eyes. “Y-you do?!” Ranpo laughed. “Of course I do!”
Ranpo then cupped his face and connected their lips. The kiss was soft and gentle, sending shivers down their spines. They had been friends for so long, but in that moment, everything changed.
As they pulled away, they looked into each other's eyes, both unsure of what had just happened. But one thing was clear; there was a spark between them that couldn't be ignored. And as they stood there, lost in the moment, they both knew that this was only the beginning of something new and exciting.
