Mayflower!!! I was gonna post a whole photo set but she deserves her own post ;)

Haven't posted in a while. I'm alive and very "well". Visited the MET in NYC, Chelsea Pier, my boyfriend Sebastian, The Monument Tour, and someone named Lucy. My summer just started.

For this shoot, I had my good friend lexxluthart model against my car. The leather jacket and blue jeans help to emphasize the "female greaser" look i was going for. One of the new trends in photography is to use old and "run down" environments and props to draw more attention to the model, who is young and beautiful. It's not something that is incredibly easy to do, but if its executed properly, it can really result in a beautiful image.

For this photograph, I decided to accentuate the brushed steel of the pocket watch i had with the colors and texture of my American flag. This was an easy shoot, even though it still took about an hour to set up and get the lighting on the face of the watch to look believable, but dramatic. A quick trick that helps me out more now that I have more exposure latitude; this was taken by using just household lights to light the picture and act as a backdrop holder! Using everything and anything you have at your disposal is an easy way to not only keep your studio space organized and make clean up fast and easy!
