Aw, hell. I wish I'd seen this before I wasted money on new contact lenses.

I know this is technically behind-the-scenes footage, but did anyone remember to tell Wang Yibo that they'd stopped filming the show? Because all I see here is a soft, motherly Hanguang-jun, who loves on bunnies when nobody is looking and who raised Sizhui to be a sensitive, thoughtful sweetheart.

How delightful; this is my exact expression at the start of every shift as I chirp, "hi, I'm *Astrinde* and I'll be your *representative of my profession* today!"

Would anyone be willing to beta-read my first-ever fanfic for CQL/The Untamed? It's a 1.2k T-rated epistolary fic (Wei Wuxian & Jiang Cheng, mention of Lan Wangji), with warning for implied homophobia. I'm seeking a check for continuity + canon compliance and characterisation, as well as help to improve the latter half. (I'm also Astrinde on AO3, if you want to check out my writing style first.)

Husband and me: [watching The Untamed: The Living Dead]
Xiao Qing: [appears, for some reason, dressed all in red and smiling gently at the man responsible for her death as she walks over to him, in what is clearly intended to be the start of a heavy interaction filled with forgiveness, grief, and regret]
Husband [sighs heavily]: I hope she kicks him in the nuts.

I wonder if I'm the only one who signs up for a fic exchange and then goes through the following steps, every. damn. time:
Stressing over the other prompts, especially if they're in the same fandom(s) I've chosen, feeling unbelievably boring and tame by comparison. Why would my bland ideas inspire anyone? Won't my writer be unhappy with their match? I should cancel my signup.
Reading over old works in an effort to reassure myself that (a) I am not the worst writer in the history of written language and (b) my recipient is not doomed to disappointment. Wasn't I arrogant to sign up for a fic exchange, when more skilled writers could have done a better job with the assignment? I should cancel my signup.
Going down a rabbit hole of research. Maybe my faltering self-esteem and subpar writing skills can be propped up with a giant pile of information. But the endless reading gets exhausting, and my brain hurts. I should cancel my signup.
All of the above + ????! = not cancelling my signup.

At what point does a gifset cross the line between "mood" and "this summarizes my existence in a series of tidy images"?

I lack the talent to actually write this, but am greatly wanting to read a crossover between MXTX's Mo Dao Zu Shi and Neal Shusterman's Game Changer: Jin Ling becomes the actual center of the universe, and his uncles appear as different Edwards.

Fourth- and second-to-last are two favourite moments from two favourite scenes, but they're all exquisite.
Little did I think before I could one day see the Second Childe Lan being so concerned…

I have not laughed this hard in ages. The self-righteous and utterly self-unaware rages! The sweetness! The screenshots to back it all up! And I likely will never again see the liquor-emptying scene without thinking, "...suffer." Utterly fantastic work.
Hello and welcome to
CQL From LWJ's POV Except it is in Twitter Format
This would be mostly LWJ screaming about WWX's entire existence.
Basically a narration of the events of the story. Extremely cracky in nature, written only for the purposes of humour.
Originally posted on twitter (@/b_rosyll) but I made this blog specially to back it up here on tumblr. Blog run by @alcrox

I just watched this episode last night. What the last gif doesn't quite capture are the tears that fill Wei Ying's eyes, making these moments even more heartrending.
Who cares about the crowded, broad avenue? I'll stick to my single-log bridge until it's dark. The Untamed (2019)

Husband and me: [watching The Untamed]
Jin Guangyao: [whirling wildly around the secret room as he tries to catch paper-Wei-ght Wuxian, his eyes growing increasingly fiery and feral each time he swings his sword and misses]
Husband [nods with deep understanding and points to the screen]: That's me every time there's a housefly in here.

I adored Mignon immediately. Stethoscopes are awesome, and he has no shame whatsoever at being caught with Doc's. The delight of his grin is contagious.

The redemptive power of love is a message that deeply resonates. (It also helps when the delivery of said message is exquisitely beautiful and soul-meltingly hot.)
I did not see the show "un-spoiled" and am so happy to see a post that summarises the show and offers a link without spoiling the surprise ending of episode 1!
Hi hi! Where did you watch Mignon? It looks so good but it’s not available on Vimeo/anywhere on the internet that I can find ):
Mignon is an original Korean animated mini series with 12 very short episodes (total run time about 1hr) YET despite the format limitation and budget it does extremely well with storytelling, it's really impressive! I'll just copy the IMDB summary because it was fun going in 'unspoiled' even if I've posted very spoiler-y gifs:
Follows daft but lovable Mignon, a mechanic moonlighting as a boxer in an illegal arena, and the lengths he goes to in his loving devotion to Oh Young-One, the arena's resident doctor, who himself harbors a dark secret.
Unfortunately the original vimeo link where it was hosted and where you could pay for it seems to have been taken down... (why!?) ... so I 'sailed the seas' for it but I believe you can stream it here. THIS IS WHY ARCHIVING MEDIA IS SO IMPORTANT AND WHY PIRATED MEDIA IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SAVE US 🤪
