jumper's character in lifesteal

image by desvile_ jumperwho's character on lifesteal is so cool because on one hand, you know she is DEFINITELY capable of manipulating and social engineering the other members (ask derapchu...he'll tell you about the truman trauma show) but when it comes to her true closest teammates, she has sworn that she will never betray them. plus, its such a breath of fresh air to see someone dedicated to loyalty on a server as well, deadly as the deadliest smp™ where you can't trust anyone. and this creates a double duality (not the duo) that gives her so much layers!!! when depth is often seen as synonymous with change, a stationary yet interesting character like jumper really stands out :D but WAIT!! you might ask, asterisk*, what about the void war of season 5?? she had to decide between betrayal and the greater good, a pretty rare scenario as they generally coexist. on one hand, she 'betrayed' the void ponies for the benefit of the rest of the server, but i'd argue (and this is just a theory, a game theory, so don't throw me in the void T_T!!!) that it was more than justified - perhaps she never betrayed them at all. think about the true motives of the abyss team: they wanted to void spawn for two reasons in my POV. 1) to punish those who hadn't appreciated the server and partially abandoned it. 2) most importantly, to promote activity again with the idea that someone would try and stop them. and succeed. but as planet's sacrifice would prove, their actions prior to the scavenger hunt were never going to achieve their goals. they were just too hard to stop, and eventually people would stop fighting against who they saw as an impossible enemy. jumper was actually technically helping them the whole time, balancing the scales. her geniune respect was clear in how she clearly stated she'd make sure not to reveal too much for that very reason. true, they didn't see it that way, but deep down they weren't all too different. plus, the primary reason she was against the abyss was because they forced her to betray her friends like 4cvit, minute, and especially vitalasy. so since they made jumper do the one thing she hated, i think in some way, the abyss team actually betrayed her first, and 'removed'-ish their teammate status? overall jumper's arc on season 5 was PEAK cinema, and i loved seeing her rise from a new member to someone who revolutionised the game. and this has continued in s6 and already s7 (i swear the groundhog bit is some kind of psychological pvp...). if you see this thank you jumper for making such a cool character on lifesteal ^_^ BING!!! you could always use some more life insurance 💗 image by morimoons_

squiddo's character in lifesteal

image by _morick squiddo's character throughout lifesteal is geniunely so interesting. and while i can't fully say anything on s7 since her journey has just started, i've been looking closer at her videos and vods on s5 & s6 and wow. i missed so much. and i wonder if you have too? so maybe this post can give you a new perspective on all you thought you knew about ls squiddo. this is just a theory, a game theory you could say, so don't orbital strike cannon me on this because it could definitely be wrong. everything seems contradictory about squiddo's actions, and s5 is a prime example. i mean, she goes from teaming with wemmbu to build a NUKE, to killing him, to fighting for the server to end peacefully, but with exploits and a backdoor!!! how have her morals bounced around this much *vsauce music* or have they...? on a serious note, i believe there's a true single line of continuity between all of these seemingly disconnected motivations: the need for recognition. her potential is recognised by wemmbu and she absolutely kills its btw, rising to the occasion to be the imo the most vital member contributing so much to the construction of the nuke. why? he promised that she will be recognised. she can be something. she can be someone. especially after being underestimated initially. she later gets revenge and bans him. yes, because of the SHULKER INCIDENT /j, but mostly because he didn't deliver on that promise of power and domination. now at the end of s5, suddenly (as she says herself) "lifesteal needs a hero" and she again is the one to emerge as such, but this can be explained by the fact that its not about doing the 'right' thing, it's about doing the thing that will get her that recognition. and being the villain is a role already taken. what lifesteal is absent in at this point is hope. she still has that exploit, but it would be the most game changing if she was on the peacekeepers side. you can kinda see that through her wording - "hero" - a word that yes means someone good, but also someone who is renowned. this pattern continues in s6, although it seems like she geniunely has a change in morality, depending on how you interpret her switch from the peace trials to helping the blindfold brothers. you could take her word that the failure of the peace trials made her lose faith in humanity (i mean all the people that she trusted who killed in the last round?? villain backstory 101). or, you could argue that as they also say, focus hasn't had anything to do since those days, and squiddo needs a new source of notoriety after being the keepers of the mace. she delvers further into this villain arc with banning 4cvit which and the return of exploits. now for s7 again, all we know is that squiddo is staunchly staying away from exploits and going for being moral this season it appears. whether thats more of a reflection of her irl self wanting a change of pace, or character development in her ls character towards morals, or even further proof of her true main motivation being recognition as perchance she predicts that peace will be the outlier / game changer this time?

overall, i'd say her character is just amazingly layered (shrek onion) and complex w/ some really cool depth and ambiguity that makes her one of my favourites on lifesteal. thank you squiddo for bringing to life this awesome character (>u<) if you see this, i can't wait for what you have planned for the future!! please don't nuke me image by cheescakelrker (aka joy)
