It’s Christmas! So in honor of it, favorite Christmas things HCs!

Starting with songs!

Optimus

Santa Tell Me

He enjoys it partially because it’s nice sounding, and is just fun. A lot more so because he can be seductive, but subtly, and while being festive, and it’s fun and bouncy along with it. Win-win-win! Another one he’s quite fond of is probably Frosty the Snowman. He enjoys the musical tale.

Elita

Elita doesn’t have a favorite, but if she had to pick, she would choose “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, entirely because like clockwork, Hot Rod sings along, and she loves to hear her sweet sparkling sing. Usually she’ll start to take her work into the living room just to listen to him sing. If she had to pick a second favorite, she’d go with “Santa Tell Me”, solely because she finds it amusing (among other feelings) to bear witness to the spectacle Optimus puts on as he sings along.

If she had to pick one that had no association to her love for her Conjux and sparkling? Then it would be “Feliz Navidad”, because she appreciates that it’s partially in a dialect so close to her native one. She actually sings along to this one, and in Nyonian! Oppy and Roddy love it too, because they love to hear her sing too. It may not be American Idol or anything, but they love hearing her sing regardless.

Hot Rod

Hark the Herald Angels Sing

He’s always loved the song as long as he can remember. He doesn’t know why he finds it so appealing. He just does. It sounds wonderful, and there’s something about it that makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside. It’s not even that he’s overly religious (even as an adult, when he does become properly religious), he just really loves it.

He also likes “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, because he does sort of see himself in Rudolph, feeling very ostracized, just like Rudolph was, and hopes one day he’ll suddenly be loved by people just like Rudolph. It’s that he relates to the fictional reindeer, more than anything.

Jazz, Prowl, & Bluestreak

Merry Christmas - Elton John & Ed Sheeran

The three all love this song, and it’s their favorite. It’s the warmth, the understanding that yes they’ve been through some tough shit, the reminder that despite it right now they get to relax, that at least they have each other. It’s how they get a little burst of hope for good things to come. It’s the way it keeps them all grounded and focused on the now. It makes them feel very familial, and they all develop an urge to be nestled close together. It’s got a nice sound, good lyrics, and they just in general love it.

Megatron

Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer

He likes to imagine it’s instead “Skyfire got run over by a reindeer”, and laughs at Starscream’s incredible displeasure and exasperation with him singing it like that.

He is also in a debate every year trying to convince Soundwave to make a rendition of that, and that it’s worth Starscream divorcing him for it.

For the record: pretty much everyone else also finds this funny as well. Star is really the only one complaining.

Skywarp

Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer

The chaos of it fuels him. Christmas is supposed to be nice and serene, but this one song is ridiculously chaotic, and he loves it. He finds the shenanigans and how they make it out like Santa hit grandma with a car and it’s a hit and run, all absolutely hilarious. He also loves “You’re a Mean One, Mr.Grinch”. Again, it’s fairly chaotic, silly, and in general not taking it super seriously. Give him more of these, please and thank you!

Silverclaw

Santa Tell Me

She just finds it fun! It sounds nice, and she enjoys dancing and singing along. She doesn’t realize any suggestive implications until she’s older, but once she does god help us, because she is going to make it everyone’s problem. After she hits her teen years, Megatron never has a day free of it in December.

Soundwave

I Hear Sleigh Bells

It’s Christmas and it scratches the itch in his brain: win-win. It’s really not any deeper than that for him. Same goes for “Christmas Time is Here”, pretty much the same reason for him, but one is loud and one is quiet.

Starscream

Jingle Bell Rock

He enjoys the nice tune, fun beat, and the festive lyrics, and it urges him to keep himself up and moving. He doesn’t know why exactly he holds such a love for it, but he does. He also enjoys “It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas”, but more from the perspective of someone who prefers to just watch, watching their child decorate the Christmas tree, which is usually how he celebrates the Winter Solstice, anyway. He quietly sings along with Soundwave, while he watches Dragstrip and Astro decorate the tree.

On Megatron singing “Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer”: he is perpetually exasperated with him using the song to take shots at Skyfire and call him trash, but he does admittedly find it just a little funny, and occasionally sings it himself when Skyfire has particularly annoyed him. As much as he disapproves the idea, he wouldn’t divorce Soundwave over it - perhaps he’d scold him, and be irritated for a while, but he wouldn’t divorce him. But he’s not going to say that, as not to encourage his conjux.

Astralwave

A Soldier’s King

It’s probably just because it’s the one carol Starscream sings, and he’s sang it to him and Dragstrip, sat in the window seat with them curled up to him, every year. Likely just sentiment, but the lyrics do bring him a sort of calm, and it sounds lovely.

Optimus rolled his optics at his friend’s statement. “I personally meant, that I am stubborn, before me Sentinel was stubborn, and before him Zeta was stubborn, Alpha Trion was stubborn, and likely so on and so forth with a number of them.” He stated.

“It admittedly is a fairly wise decision, not to conjux in the midst of war, most of the time.” He agreed with the statement regarding conjuxing.

“But I will advise: if you find someone who looks at you like you put the stars in the sky, and they would happily handcraft the sun for you - or at least do it with only very mild complaint if that's their standard for loving someone - and you look at and feel such for them equally, and you both feel the wonderful warmth of the love you have for each other in your sparks, don't dance around and wait.

Conjux them, and live every day grateful you still have them. You never know if they may be gone one day, and you'll have lost your chance. There's no point delaying something that may very well simply be meant to be.” He said, long and elaborate.

“But if you feel the best is to avoid such until you may have survived to peacetime, then that is your decision. You don't have to if it doesn't feel right.” He added, realizing he may have sounded a touch judgemental or pressuring, when it wasn't his intention.

“I’d say I’ve handled it all quite well.

Of course, I am not currently on speaking terms with my eldest brother, aside from an occasional message now and then, and my cir-cat seems to have developed an understanding that sometimes he needs to step in to assist me in handling my emotions, and I’m also sort of in a standstill waiting game with my ex for him to do something so I can reasonably request a restraining order to begin pending.

But all in all: beside those little problems, quite well. I have my sparkling, my conjux, and am living in a nice, peaceful place outside of the city, and I have been longing for the war to end for a long time, so I handled the change exceptionally, and currently I’m doing quite well.”

Introductions

Optimus Prime

The Leader of the Autobots, and current Prime of Cybertron. Has moved away from his leadership position to focus on his new domestic life with his Conjux and sparkling, and lets his top general, SIC, and TIC handle all of those things now. Very vastly prefers life this way, being very similar to how life was for him before he was Prime.

A kindled mech raised by a pair of loving creators, who went off planet long before the war happened, and are still alive to date. Very doting, loving, and caring of his loved ones. He’s well known for being quite empathetic, and understanding, thus leading to a large amount of leniency. A massive bookworm, and loved to recommend them to his loved ones. Was very good at Archiving, whereas he was pretty average as a Dockworker. In general a pretty sweet mech.

Elita-One

The top general of the Autobots, and probably the second ‘right hand man’ of Optimus’s. She’s an elite warrior, and been an Autobot longer than Optimus. She handles most of the faction nowadays, alongside Jazz and Prowl.

A Nyonian foundling raised by three Nyonian Femmes, and moved to Iacon in adulthood. Elita is definitely compassionate, and warm, but usually in she’s very cold and professional with people, just not being a big ‘people person’. She reserves her soft side for her loved ones only, but can still be warm with coworkers now and then. She tends to prefer sitting and watching a TV show, or keeping herself busy. Occasionally does some art. Very reliable and determined; always available for her loved ones to fall back on when they need some help getting steady, and a bomb couldn’t set her off a task once she’s made a decision. She’s very protective of her Conjux and sparkling, and loves them both very much. Just like Optimus, she is very content, and in fact preferable to the circumstances they’re living. All in all, intimidating, but likely won’t hurt anyone (so long as you don’t start it-).

Hot Rod

Optimus and Elita’s 15 vorn old son, created in the middle-end of the war (middle of G1 show’s running); a Foundling, just like Elita herself was. Has not been involved in the fighting, because he was too young and Optimus and Elita both refused to allow him on a battlefield.

Hot Rod is a very bright, and sweet youngling. He’s usually pretty happy to be at one of the two’s sides, and helping them out. He loves helping his loved ones, and trying to solve their problems. Unfortunately however, he has grown up to be deeply insecure, and usually feeling inadequate, and almost entirely without friends (beyond his family, that is) within the Autobot faction. But he does still try his hardest. He is a very loving mechling, perhaps caring a little too much.

Jazz

Third in Command of the Autobots, and the Spec.Ops Commander. Immensely loyal and protective with his loved ones, and utterly terrifying at all times, unless he goes out of his way to not be. Handles the faction with Elita and Prowl. Lives with Prowl and Bluestreak in a proper house now, compared to sharing a large habsuite on base.

Jazz is a kindled mech, former career criminal/thief turned Elite Autobot, usually very cheerful, laid back, and charismatic, and wearing a smile around most of the time. He’s a very proud adoptive sire to Bluestreak, and loving conjux to Prowl, doting on both of them. He’s also Optimus Prime’s Amica Endurae, and loves to spend time with him. Never without a weapon even after you’ve had him drop a comically large pile of them from his subspace three times, always be careful to never particularly piss him off or hurt his loved ones. And don’t think he’ll forget, because he still hasn’t showed up to the winter solstice party for 18 vorns straight. But usually he’s a pretty chill, laid back mech, who doesn’t minding hanging out with people.

Prowl

Second in Command of the Autobots, and Head of the Tactical Division. Very stern and uptight most of the time, and not an ideal mech to make cross with you. Handles the faction with Jazz and Elita, and usually the one doing all the paperwork, not that he minds. Has a well renowned tendency to abuse tables, and occasionally desks.

Prowl is a kindled mech, formerly once upon a time living in the upper caste of Praxus, with his creator’s and older co-creation. However, he has only been back to Praxus once since leaving at 17, and keeps his former status hidden. As an adult he joined the Autobots, and has been quite content with life since. As an Autobot, most see his stern, hard, and prickly outward personality. However, despite being true to his reputation of being a workaholic, he’s not quite what people think, once he lets his walls down, and with his loved ones; in such situations he’s actually rather warm and soft, underneath the mask of coldness he wears. He’s very much an introvert, and quiet most of the time, but he’s not quite as scary as most of the rumors make him out to be. He is very happily conjuxed to Jazz, and very proud of their adoptive son, Bluestreak.

Bluestreak

Legendary sniper of the Autobots, with unmatched marksmanship from a young age. Jazz and Prowl’s 21 vorn old adoptive son, who they took in after Praxus fell.

Bluestreak is very sweet, and bright, smiling a lot of the time, and has no problem holding conversation with other people. He’s a well known chatterbox, but has gotten better than when he was younger. Unfortunately, however, his eyesight has gotten dramatically worse, leading to him needing optical assistants. He still lives with Jazz and Prowl, and they’re happy to have him around. For the most part, he’s doing well.

Megatron

Leader of the Decepticons, and former Gladiator of the Kaonian Pits. Still well followed by most of the Decepticons, and happy to lead them. Conjuxed to Skywarp, and sire to their daughter, Silverclaw.

Megatron is a cold-constructed mech, and a former gladiator. He is very charismatic, especially when he puts the effort to be. He led the revolution, and is very pleased with his success in abolishing Functionism and the Caste System of Cybertron. He tends to be absolutely terrifying to 90% of people, but once you get past the upfront things, he’s actually not that bad to be around. He’s very much a bookworm, and occasionally writes poetry, when the inspiration hits him. Even if he doesn’t say very much, or show it very obviously, he does very much love his conjux and sparkling, and is quite happy living with them out on the outskirts of Kaon’s main city.

Skywarp

One of the Elite Trine of the Decepticons, and Royals of Vos; the middle child. Well known for his warping outlier ability, pranks, ADHD symptoms, and lack of similar intelligence to his trinemates/siblings. Diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD. Conjuxed to Megatron, and carrier of Silverclaw.

Skywarp is a kindled seeker, and one of the Royals of Vos, raised by his carrier and their trinemates in the palace. He’s always been the one who fell behind academically, but is leaps and bounds ahead of his trinemates in other matters, such as navigation, observation, and improvisation. He tends towards being a fun goofball, trying to lighten the mood and boost morale, to make up for it. He is also sort of the middle between Starscream and Thundercracker, despite being on the opposite end of the spectrum in behavior to Starscream. Him and Starscream are working at mending their relationship, but it’s still going to take a long way yet for them, and Skywarp has accepted that. Silverclaw

Usually referred to as “Silver” as a nickname, or simply how Megatron prefers to refer to her.

5 vorn old daughter of Megatron and Skywarp, born Postwar. Heir to the Decepticon Throne.

She is five, her favorite color is purple, and she loves her parents very much. She also likes her cousin, Uncle Soundwave’s cassettes, and Uncle Starscream’s cat.

She has a flight frame, looking very similar to Megatron but with little wing appendages on her limbs. She also has a few traits of Skywarp’s mixed in.

Soundwave

Third In Command and Communications Officer of the Decepticons. Amica Endurae to Megatron, and conjuxed to Starscream. Creator of his six cassettes, and sire to Astralwave.

Soundwave is a cold-constructed mech, former gladiator in the Kaonian gladiation pits. He’s a very quiet mech, most of the time, but does interject into conversations a lot more than at the beginning of the war. He is admittedly a rather proud mech, despite the subtlety it’s hidden behind, especially in the beginning and middle days, but he did eventually get his comeuppance and isn’t nearly as so as before, and it’s done him some serious good. When he wants to be he can be just as charming as Megatron, even if at times it is a bit different. He occasionally composes some music when he’s feeling up to it, and has began to pick up trying to play instruments. He’s happy to live outside of the city, given how much less assaulting it is on his senses, and it doesn’t feel claustrophobic.

Starscream

The Second in Command and Air Commander of the Decepticons. Graduated from the Iacon Science Academy in just two vorns, with a degree in both Chemistry and Engineering, on honors. Also the Crown Prince of Vos, and youngest of the Elite Trine/Royals. Conjuxed to Soundwave, carrier of Astralwave. Also owns a cir-cat post-war.

Starscream is a kindled seeker, born to the King/Winglord of Vos, making him the Crown Prince. It can usually be quite a gamble on how involved in conversation he is: sometimes he’s a wallflower/focused on something else entirely, or he’s very avidly involved, and invested in it. Unfortunately, due to trauma, unless it’s with people he feels he can trust enough, it’s usually the former. Starscream has been a prodigy his whole life, and holds a lot of pride in his intelligence and skills, so insulting them is not a great idea, especially not when doing so usually drives him into going nuclear in his response/retaliation. But for the most part, if you just leave him alone to tinker with his tools and chemicals, and perhaps even provide now and then, he’s a happy camper and not too difficult to get along with. He enjoys living out of the city far better than in, he’s discovered. He finds it far more relaxing, and it’s nowhere near as stuffy or draining socially as living in the city or in the palace. In regards to his Conjux and sparkling, you can tell from his behavior and optics alone how much he loves and adores them: he may not say it with words, but it’s very obvious. He’s always rather puffy with pride in Astro, and his optics give away how vomit inducing sickeningly in love he is with Soundwave. All around, he’s quite pleased with his life.

Astralwave

Usually referred to as simply “Astro”.

7 vorn old son of Soundwave and Starscream. A seeker, just like his carrier, and quite quiet and calm, usually. Other times he is absurdly dramatic.

His favorite color is red, he loves his creators, and family. He thinks Uncle Megatron and Skywarp are pretty chill, and doesn’t mind having his little cousin around, even if she does babble a bit too much for his liking.

Megatron: I do not see why this stupid blog thing needs to be orange.

Skywarp: yeah, purple is a far better color!

Starscream: fair, when compared to orange, but I prefer blue.

Skywarp: simp.

Starscream: stfu skywarp you ass kisser.

Optimus: That’s enough, we can negotiate colors like normal people. I just thought the warm orange would be nice, and not so assaulting on the humans optics.

Megatron: assaulting? Please, like orange isn’t more assaulting of a color.

Optimus: that’s why I chose a softer orange. And I know you’re not overly fond of softer, lighter, more lavender shades of purple.

Megatron: better than orange.

Hot Rod: can you stop, it’s just a color, leave it be. and if I have to be included can it please not be all orange, or red and yellow as well. It’s like…

Optimus: of course, sweetspark. I’ll change the accent to a lavender that doesn’t horribly clash to look tacky against the orange.

Optimus: you’re welcome, love. If you come into the living room, I can make you something to eat before you do.

Hot Rod: okay.

Megatron: that was fast, considering how stubborn you were being.

Optimus: I’m not doing it for you. I’m doing it because I want to make it easier for him.

Elita: you didn’t convince slag into us. It’s for Hot Rod.

Jazz: hey hey hey, you three. There’s no need to be picking a fight over the color of the blog, alright. It could be worse. A lot worse. Like, highlighter neon yellow and hot pink worse.

Soundwave: that sounds horrible. I think I’ll take the soft orange and lavender over that.

Prowl: the idea alone is overwhelming my visual senses.

Silverclaw: i like purple. :)

Astralwave: I think both colors are good. I prefer red though. ¯\_(•–•)_/¯

Bluestreak: eh. Lavender is nice, and I’ve gotten pretty used to orange.

Bluestreak: but aren’t we supposed to do a proper introduction for the blog?

Jazz: we’ll put introductory paragraphs in a pinned post, don’t worry kiddo.

Prowl: doing it in a pinned post does sound the most sensible. I’ve never ran a blog before, though, so I wouldn’t know.

Jazz: Don’t worry, Soundy and I can manage it. Right, Sounders?

Soundwave: Refrain from ‘Soundy’. I only allow my conjux that nickname. But yes, we can.

Jazz: cool, cool.

Elita: I still don’t get what this is for.

Starscream: me neither.

Jazz: it’s so the humans and others can ask us questions freely, as the war has ended. And we can answer them!

Starscream: would it not be easier to simply write out an article full of answers to FAQs to serve as a PSA?

Elita: he has a point: isn’t that easier?

Jazz: yeah, but what about all the niche questions, and that’s not as fun. We get to actually interact with them, rather than just feigning for a parasocial relationship.

Elita: and we want to interact with them further, why?

Starscream: grand point. id think they hate us. It’s a lot like superhero movies: we think that it’d be awesome to have superheroes, but we would all hate them because last Saturday you watched one pick up your car, throw it at the dude, and fucking miss, and there’s your car totaled, and would the insurance even cover that? “Superman threw my car at a bad guy so it got totaled”?

Jazz: some of them like us! And want to ask us questions! Let’s just give it a try, yeah?

Starscream: …alright.

Elita: so you and Soundwave are mainly managing this, and we sometimes answer questions. Because they have niche questions that we can’t answer in an faq article.

Megatron: this is ridiculous. We need to answer to the likes of humans, just because?

Skywarp: I don’t mind. Seems fun enough.
