"So, odd question that I hope isn't too personal meat. A while back you were unaware of pokebeans and gave a rather... Interesting reply. You enjoy the company of other females?" a fiery little brown Rapidash wearing a western-style hat asked the Yungoose.

Evaline smiles brightly behind the bundle of berries in her mouth, oblivious to the past few... conversations, if you could call them that... Meat had been having with the host of curious strangers.

Truth be told, Meat herself didn’t have a favorite berry. Like many things, she was completely indifferent towards the lot of them. They were food that filled a hole in a hungry belly. But still, the sentiment was...touching. Ah, she had been staring a bit too long as she considered the gesture.

Meat: “...Yes. But I must also gather some roots for storing. Perhaps some fresh prey if the opportunity presents itself... Let us go now.”

Meat nods Evaline forward, and Evaline swells with pride, bounding ahead. Meat continues after her with a dismissive flick of her tail. But she slows, turning her head enough for Bambina to gather that Meat is addressing her.

Meat: “... Usually...”

She offers no clarification as she trots to catch up with Evaline’s lithe, swishing form, leaving the hillside behind.

“It is unwise to trust strangers without precedent... Fear not; my company is not one most enjoy, anyways.” She begins to walk off towards the underbrush, her back to the now-risen sun, but she pauses a few steps in. Her tail sways idly, contemplating.

“If you are under the impression that you are in Alola, I am sorry. You must be very lost, I think.”

@meat If you had to choose between pokepuffs, poffins, or pokebeans, which one would you choose?

Meat: “Or, rather, Grandmother talked of going out to scavenge food herself, despite her age. I figured if I did not head out early to do so, she actually would try it…”

Evaline: Teehee~ Oh goodness, feisty as always I see. Well we certainly wouldn’t want that, now would we? I won’t hold you up any longer then, Meat, we can always catch up later!

Meat hesitates, standing stiffly in place. Her tail twitches, and as Evaline turns to head off, Meat hastily moves to face her.

Meat: “But….You are welcome to have breakfast with us once I have finished… Grandmother enjoys your company.”

Evaline: “A-as long as I’m not imposing… And only so long as you promise that you and your grandmother will come to lunch at my place next time, teeheehee!”

As Evaline giggles to herself, Meat averts her eyes; her tail starts to twitch again, as if bashful.

Meat: “...”

Meat pauses, then quietly extends a paw to examine the bell. She holds it softly in her open palm, observing it with unyielding eyes.

Meat: “If I recall, this was from a rattata, but it was from a rather old hunt so I could be mistaking it for another small prey animal. If this is pleasing to you, it is yours.”

“ … pity, isn’t it? but no spells are perfect; my wards have grown old and are in need of rebirth.”

“it’s a bell without sound. in fact, ringing it momentarily muffles yours–your voice, your steps, even your scent is replaced with that of stale ash.

Just like you, it likes it’s privacy and will continue to work so long as you aren’t aware of it’s contents, which is why it does not work for me, so don’t get curious.

also ringing it too often may attract lesser insects. I have no idea why or how to fix that, but like I said, no spell is perfect.

I don’t take typical currency considering I have no use for it up here, so if you have a tooth or claw to trade, the bell is yours.

Joachim @ Evaline: "So, you're at least on good terms with that Yungoos over there, I see! Nice. I could always ask how the two of you met, but to be honest, I'm more curious as to how you got her to warm up to you. I mean, she does seem a bit ... reclusive."

Evaline: I do admit it took a while to get used to her... way of  friendship. You’re right to call her reclusive, though, she does like her privacy. This area hasn’t been this active in a long time, I can already tell she’s getting defensive around these outsider pokemon-- No offense! I guess she’s just used to a quieter lifestyle than I’m used to.

[ask-meat] Meat@Sera: She stands at the taur's feet, completely dwarfed in comparison but gazing coolly up at her. "You were a trainer's pokemon? Mmh, I imagine your size and.. shape... would be quite useful for trampling and crushing. Though I don't imagine that would be smiled upon. Do you have to restrain yourself when you fight? Seems like it would be a lot of effort."
