[This has to be my best outfit at the moment.] Unfortunately, such things change on a whim. I think I’ve settled on this, though I cannot choose if I should wear my glasses or contacts. I believe the latter works better, though. I want to keep the metals to my torso for this look.

What are some of the most important pieces of relationship advice you've learned over the years?

[The most important? Well, first off, don’t fall for a lesbian. Set her up with your sister instead.]

[In all seriousness, communicate!!! It is key. I thought silence bought compliance-- love, even. It didn’t. I was an outsider in my own marriage.

[Secondly, never lose your sense of self. You may feel a duty to please, but you must come first.]

[As for me, I wasn’t the “first” Austria. That’s Anneliese. But! We use my birthplace (Vienna) as the capital, so I am the “main” Austria.]   I was originally Neumark, but then I was integrated into Ostarrichi-- though historians tend to spell it Ôstarrichi nowadays. Once Vienna became the capital, I ousted Anneliese from her leadership position. As for how families work, well, it’s still largely a mystery. Anneliese and I are quite close to sharing a face and also share numerous beauty marks. We’re clearly related. From what we’ve heard, Bavaria shed blood on the soil we emerged from. If that makes him our father, then he certainly failed.

Not everyone has some sort of parental figure, though. [As for those like Prussia... well... Gil had to have been from Königsburg (Twangste). Maria? May as well be Atlantis.*] I don’t know if they came from someone, but I doubt it. I may know one day, since it seems that Gilbert and Maria are trying to find out more about their childhood homeland. I do wish the best for them. *The trading city of Truso has been referred to as the “Atlantis of the North. We have found it-- it’s near Elbing. Roderich does not have this knowledge. Anneliese, however, does.

how does austria deal with traveling with prussia?

[ Traveling? Gosh-- it’s been eons! ]

[ Well, the last time we traveled together... 1991 -- (Gil, and Erzsébet, but mostly Gil) wanted to see the US. ... I did most of the driving. Erszi, Anneliese, and Maria slacked off and hung out in the back.) ] Honestly, Maria was the only one who got what I was feeling. She watched the women she loved rejoice in their reunion while I listened to Gilbert about how much he missed Romania. Being Gilbert’s sister and all, I don’t know why she hasn’t told him of my feelings. Then again, I never told Erzsébet and Anneliese about hers. A crucial difference, though: Maria made a move and is living happily with them. I have not, and I’m not sure that I will.

Watching him enjoy himself is always a gift, though. I do wish we’d go on another trip soon, but we shall see.
