Pogroms in Amsterdam where jews are thrown into rivers in 5⁰C weather and forced to yell slogans to be allowed out. Where jews are beaten bloody and forced to say they're not Jewish for the beating to stop. Where jews are run over by cars. Where jews are forced to hide in hotels as people who want to lynch them storm in. Where law enforcement does nothing and drives right past jews being hunted in the streets.
The protests didn't cause this, right? The violent rhetoric didn't cause this. The active celebration of a massacre didn't cause this. The constant dehumanization and belittlement of Jewish suffering didn't cause this. The lionization of murderers like Nasrallah and Sinwar didn't cause this. The encampments didn't cause this. The historical revisionism and the complete ignorance about the Holocaust didn't cause this. The apathy towards rising antisemitism didn't cause this. Constant deflections and gaslighting when jews tried to speak out about their fears didn't cause this. Accusations of genocide didn't cause this. Comparisons between jews and nazis didn't cause this. Normalized violence against jews under the guise of antizionism didn't cause this. The appropriation and the downplaying of the Holocaust didn't cause this. ALL OF THIS didn't cause this pogrom in Amsterdam on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, right?!?
Go fuck yourselves, all of you who participated in any of the above, or ignored us when we told you where it was all headed. WE KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO DO THIS. BECAUSE YOU'VE DONE IT IN EVERY GENERATION AND YOU NEVER LEARN

12 Days of Gadge, Day 7: Weddings
Not really Christmas or holiday related at all - mostly just winter wedding themed. Lots of Thelly, splashes of Everlark & Odesta & Jorius. Kinda long, kinda hot. Love you all!
Madge wasn’t a big fan of weddings. Past that, she wasn’t a fan of winter weddings. Winter was her favorite season, all soft and light and cold and gave her an excuse to stay in. But winter weddings were hard to dress for, and weddings in general just reminded her how freaking alone she was.
From Gale - 7:05 PM You’re going to Thom and Delly’s wedding, right?
From Madge - 7:06 PM Yeah. You?
From Gale - 7:06 PM Best man. No choice.
Gale Hawthorne, it turned out, wasn’t a big fan of weddings either.
Thankfully they’d gotten through their high school rivalry. College seemed to help them sort out their problems. Gale understood she wasn’t a stuck-up bitch, and Madge realized he wasn’t an asshole for no reason. These days they had a pretty easy-going friendship that mostly involved drinks once every few weeks to catch up.
But when it came to weddings, they completely understood each other. They’d gone to at least four weddings together (about to be five when they watched their close friends from home get hitched) and spent their time getting drunk and talking about their lives. Every now and then they’d laugh at the teary speeches or the crazy outfits some older people were wearing. Together it was never all that bad.

Tomorrow Will Be Kinder by jennycaakes (@madgesundersee)
It’s been four years since the Mockingjay took down the Capitol, and both Gale Hawthorne and Madge Undersee have been working with the new government to make a better future. Unfortunately, they’re both in District 2. The two of them have been doing a great job at avoiding each other and minding their own business, but a chance string of events brings them together again and again. It isn’t until Madge starts feeling strange after one late night with Gale do they accidentally become permanent people in one another’s lives. How will the two of them balance their careers and their increasingly complicated personal lives?
Read on AO3 or FFN.

The Good Neighbor
I usually like to embarrass Madge in my fics, today it’s Gale’s turn.
Madge really, really wishes it was otherwise, but she’s become very familiar with the amorous sounds of her next door neighbors. Their bedrooms are separated by only a thin wall and nothing can block out the nightly carnal noises.
She would complain, but the guy, Cato, is terrifying. He looks like the type who would rip your head off at the slightest provocation. The girl is kinda scary too. She certainly seems to hold her own during their screaming rows. More than once, Madge has sat on her couch, clutching her phone waiting to call 911 as she’s listened to them argue. Fortunately, they’ve never turned physical.
Or, never come to blows anyway. They do turn physical - long, loud sex marathons against the shared wall dividing their apartment from Madge’s.
She knows the difference between their drunk sex, their makeup sex, their romantic sex. She can tell when they’re high, when Glimmer is faking, when they’re using toys. She knows them all.
So when she’s woken up in the early hours of Saturday morning by loud carnal groaning, she instantly knows that it’s not Cato on the other side of the wall.
Madge stuffs in her ear plugs and goes back to sleep, trying to figure out if Glimmer is really stupid, or really brave.

“You were just a distraction, Madge… Until Katniss came home.”
As soon as he said it he knew he’d lost her for good but he had to cut off any hope Madge had of them being together. He made a deal with the Mayor. Stop whatever he had with Madge or the fence would be turned on for good. He would no longer be able to take care of his family and that had to be his priority.

It was hard for Gale to move on, to distract himself from Madge’s presence. She was everywhere. Anytime he was in the mines his mind would wander, he kept considering whether he could have told her about the deal.
When they both started helping Peeta and Katniss train for the next games, that was when it was harder. They were around each other more often, trying to hide their past with the insults that they used to throw at each other. He crossed a line. He’d comforted her like he did during the last games. She broke from his embrace straight away.

Gadge Week → Day 2: Lonely
They’d been in District 13 for 3 weeks, whilst Gale might have a place to stay with his whole family, Madge was by herself. There’s only so much she could take. She would follow the schedule they gave her but she still felt so alone, like she had no one. Gale told her otherwise.

Gadge Week → Day 5: Blame
“I don’t know if you know this Madge, but it takes two people to make a baby.” Madge rolled her eyes, “You’re an ass.” He laughed, he’d been laughing at all her pregnancy symptoms. Anytime she got angry at him, he’d talk right back and try and use logic against her. Even with her pregnancy brain, she knew she was at fault sometimes. But she was pregnant, instead of trying to calm her down, or keep her happy, Gale just found it all amusing.

She got paired up to Hawthorne against her will, she didn’t want a partner. Which definitely caused tension between the two of them. But eventually, they found the rhythm between cases, slowly finding a balance.
He knew something was up when he first met her, and when he found out about her past, he was right there at her door. With dinner.

She wanted to yell and scream. But she always knew. It was Gale and Katniss. Not Gale and Madge. It was Katniss first. Whatever Madge had with Gale during the games wasn’t there anymore.
He tried to defend himself, that it only happened once. That he just had to do it once. Madge didn’t care. The trust she had in him was gone.
