(Potentially) hot take: Feminism is not about women vs men, it’s about people who respect women and femininity vs people who don’t. And there are people of ALL genders on BOTH sides. Do men benefit from patriarchy? Yes. But it also hurts them and they shouldn’t have to shoulder that burden. You can’t fight against patriarchy unless you fight against it in all its forms, whether it’s objectifying women or men being called “weak” for expressing basic human emotions. Patriarchy hurts people of all genders and we all deserve to be free from it.

YESS. As much as I love Jax, I was OVERJOYED that Ragatha finally gave him a taste of his own medicine. People were upset at her for hitting him where it hurt during episode 5 as if he hadn’t literally THROWN HER IN A DEEP FRYER the episode before. Jax and Ragatha are BOTH deeply flawed individuals, so the people who paint Ragatha as a manipulative, abusive asshole while excusing Jax’s behavior because “He’s just misunderstood!” definitely reek of misogyny

This kinda reminds me of that one post that basically said “Yes, I do believe certain people deserve to be killed with hammers. However, I don’t trust anyone to operate the ‘killing people with hammers’ machine”

The problem I think so many people encounter in my prison abolition post is that prison abolition is a subject where what you want and what you think is right often conflict. I do want to see that murderous rapist hanged. i do want to see them suffer. that does feel right, on a kind of gut level. an eye for an eye.

but building a justice system around your fantasies of watching evil people suffer is kind of like revising our free speech laws to match the arguments you imagine winning while in the shower. You can enjoy it all you want, but that doesn't mean the government, or anyone for that matter, should have the power to make it happen.

One thing about Homicipher that I don’t really see people talk about is the fact that in the alternate dimension where most of the game takes place, the concepts of gender and names don’t really seem to be a thing. All of creatures use the same set of pronouns and Adami (the mc, for those who don’t know) even asks Mr. Crawling his name at one point and he seems confused, leaving Adami to assume he doesn’t have one. Things like gender and names don’t really seem to exist in that world. The only reason they exist in gameplay is because we play the game through the eyes of a character from a world where those things do exist. It’s not a bad thing (the creatures don’t seem to mind), just something I noticed that no one really seems to talk about.
