O Captain! My Captain!
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
                   But O heart! heart! heart!
                      O the bleeding drops of red,
                         Where on the deck my Captain lies,
                            Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
                    Here Captain! dear father!
                     This arm beneath your head!
                          It is some dream that on the deck,
                            You’ve fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
                       Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
                          But I with mournful tread,
                             Walk the deck my Captain lies,
                                Fallen cold and dead.
- Walt Whitman

Requiescat
Tread lightly, she is near
Under the snow,
Speak gently, she can hear
The daisies grow.
All her bright golden hair
Tarnished with rust,
She that was young and fair
Fallen to dust.
Lily-like, white as snow,
She hardly knew
She was a woman, so
Sweetly she grew.
Coffin-board, heavy stone,
Lie on her breast,
I vex my heart alone
She is at rest.
Peace, Peace, she cannot hear
Lyre or sonnet,
All my life’s buried here,
Heap earth upon it.
- Oscar Wilde

I felt a Funeral, in my Brain
I felt a Funeral, in my Brain,
And Mourners to and fro
Kept treading - treading - till it seemed
That Sense was breaking through -
And when they all were seated,
A Service, like a Drum -
Kept beating - beating - till I thought
My mind was going numb -
And then I heard them lift a Box
And creak across my Soul
With those same Boots of Lead, again,
Then Space - began to toll,
As all the Heavens were a Bell,
And Being, but an Ear,
And I, and Silence, some strange Race,
Wrecked, solitary, here -
And then a Plank in Reason, broke,
And I dropped down, and down -
And hit a World, at every plunge,
And Finished knowing - then -
- Emily Dickinson

Hello! I'm have a deep love for art and created this blog to share my favorite pieces, but also as a space to keep art alive, as I feel new technologies are taking it from our hands little by little or worse: making us forget how important art is.
Humans are capable of expressing ourselves in an unique, marvelous way through paintings, poems, songs, books and so many other forms of art and we can't lose it, we can't let our hearts be shaped like the machines we see everyday and we most certainly can't let these machines overcome us in our field, our own creation, our backbone.
But, most of all, this is a safe space, a place to just breath and feel, feel deeply; a space to let your emotions flow without shame, to reconnect with your inner self, the one that is always punched back inside by the outside world.
If you got here, enjoy your stay ♡
