Are you looking explicitly for heavily painted styles? And which periods of art history are you trying to lean into? I'm heavily interested in romanticism and baroque, but I'm also very interested in emulating Alphonse Muche's style. What's the criteria for your prospective entrants?
We are not necessarily looking for heavily painted styles; our review of artist applications will more heavily rely on the effective use of composition, color, and other standards of visual art. The zine won’t ask artists to exactly mimic art historical works/styles, but instead asks that they use them as inspiration for their pieces! This can take the form of similarity in style, composition, iconography, etc.

Hi! I'm really interested in applying to this zine, but I was wondering if the art submitted for review needs to be FFXV orientated? I have a lot of professional work showing the art style i'd like to work in (sort of 19th century Turner-esque romanticism), but no fanart in that style. Would that be a problem?
There’s no need for your example submissions to be FFXV oriented! Whatever work you have that you feel would best represent you, we’d be happy to look at.

Hello, I was wondering if we’re able to modify the links to our pieces on the application?
Yes, you should be able to! The form should allow you to edit it after submission; if you are unable, please feel free to submit a second form, specifying that it is the one you would like to represent you.

Where do we submit our pieces?
Applications for the zine will open up on May 1, and will be done through a Google form. On that form, we will ask for links to three pieces you feel best represent your work; these can be posted on any platform. For those accepted to the zine, final works will be submitted directly to the mods to be formatted for print.

I want to write something for this zine, but I have no clue how to go about it since I don’t know what I would write.
As long as you submit examples of your past writings, we’d be happy to send along prompts and ideas for what you could write about if accepted into the zine! You can also check out our info doc for information on what kind of written works we’re hoping to include and see if it’s the type of content you’d be interested in writing!

I am super excited for this zine's concept! Would you be open to including things from Kingsglaive? I, for one, would love to see the exploration of Galahdan culture and how it causes their art to differ from that of Lucis -- I think exploring the different art styles of different nations would be particularly interesting all together! (As a side note, I don't know if you're aware, but the browser version of your page is a little hard to read from the lack of contrast between the text and bg)
We would absolutely love to see concepts from Kingsglaive explored in the zine! We’re hoping to encourage contributors to create works representing minor characters so that the zine is not too heavily focused on the main four boys, and Kingsglaive would make a fantastic addition. Exploring cultures outside of Lucis (Galahd, Niflheim, etc) is a great idea! (And thank you for the heads-up; that should be fixed now!)
