Currently making a comic, might keep going or might end up giving up, who knows

This comic in set about 100 years after skyward sword when hyrule is a pretty new kingdom. One of the main characters is a 12 year old girl named Ereta who is the great granddaughter of sksw link and Zelda, she lives in the center of hyrule with her parents and older sister.

One day while doing chores by the River she meets this anazun (gerudo ancestors) boy and his younger sister named Karem and Ara and befriends them. The rest I haven’t really figured out yet

Pushing people off ledges? I’m guessing sky Zelda does most of that

So you stated in a past ask that link and Zelda from sksw in breath of the sky are going to be gremlins, do you think you could write a short snippet for this?

I... don't have any new snippets for the lovebirds being gremlins, sadly. :( But I'll just give a list of Gremlin Crimes that Have Been Committed or Will Be (which is not at all an exhaustive list because I've barely written this story at all lol)

Broken out of the castle by busting a window and flinging themselves out the side into the gardens, causing the entire royal guard (and botw Link) to have a meltdown

Pass out in the princess' bed because Link can sleep anywhere without issue and that's normal, but here it's Not Proper and cultural differences abound because BotW's culture is like Uptight British Propriety at its Worst

Fling unsuspecting victims off of high ledges because it's normal :D

This gave me an idea so here’s a small snippet with this premise

“Link stared at the boy, he was….odd to say the least.

He looked to be just 1 or 2 years younger then himself, maybe only 17 or so and yet he was covered in horrid burn scars, stretching across his face and neck before disappearing under his tunic.

And speaking of his tunic it was like something Link had never seen before, loose and flowy, colored a vibrant blue with large designs embroidered across it.

“Uh hello?” Link asked the obviously confused boy

“are you lost? Do you need help finding a inn maybe?”

The boy looked even more lost

“nanda daise quona firesea?!”

He asked, seeming very confused.

What In Dins name was going on here?”

This is an idea I keep having for just LU in general, culture shifts/language shifts

I mean there is at least hundreds, potentially thousands of years between each of them, things are bound to change in that amount of time. Like some examples I can think of, words not meaning the same thing anymore and that causing some (sometimes hilarious) miscommunications.

Or they could end up getting into arguments because one of them is doing something that to them is completely acceptable but to another is very much not. There could also be some cases where words pretty much stop being used and so some things that some of them say just doesn’t make any sort of sense, there’s also the possibility for accent changes making it hard for them to understand each other at first. There’s just so much potential.

What do you think of this?

I love literally all of that. They honestly probably would barely understand each other. Just look at English and trace it’s history - assuming Wild speaks English as we do today, if we trace all the way back to Sky, he could be speaking the equivalent of either Old English or a dialect spoken before that was even developed.

Sky’s culture predates everyone’s and is based on living on freaking floating oye es of rock surrounded by gigantic birds, like… different entirely from everyone else. Just as Wind’s culture would be completely different too!

Four’s so early on in Hyrule’s history his era would be so vastly different, like Hyrule would consist of tribes or clans in his day as opposed to entire cities and cultures that intermingle by, say, Twilight’s era. Then again, Hyrule seems pretty plagued by war and the like, so it could be a constant cycle of nations rising and falling and shifting borders, so anything goes, really.

Honestly there should be more fics pointing out that these boys would honestly not understand a word the other is saying 😂

Headcannon time!

The hylain equivalent to a “shotgun wedding” is a “free fall wedding”.

It is a wedding with little to no planning, or that is quick, sudden, or unexpected.

It is often used for couples who get married within weeks of getting engaged, couples who get married without being engaged and/or dating, couples who go through the entire dating/courting and engagement very quickly, or couples who are unusually young when they marry.

It is also often used to imply that the bride is or could be pregnant at the wedding.

It started in skys era and stuck around a few hundred years, still being a somewhat common phrase in warriors and legends era (although it had died out by winds).
