I'm of the belief that he can do it decently enough, he's been on his own and travels a lot. he's met a lot of people and learned from them (him knowing dwarven) so he's definitely picked up cooking methods from different cultures

I believe he mentions wardens usually eat gruel so I imagine he gets sick of it so he learns to make stuff that Isn't That

he's not a masterchef or anything but he probably makes really nice comfort food
