AirPods finally came in the mail today! I don’t even care that this is a super nerdy post, I’ve literally been waiting months for these to finally be in my hands and I AM SO EXCITED! GAH!

The hard days come in waves, and I can feel them crashing against my skin. Sometimes, it’s hard to feel the warmth of the sun when the world can be so cold.

January 4th, 2017

Today was a long one, but I tried my best to take some deep breaths and be calm. Sometimes through the hustle and bustle between work and school and a million trivial other things, I forget to make time for me. I forget to do the things that I love to do. I love coffee and tea, and today I had both. I can’t remember the last time this Canon and I explored around town, and though it was definitely a cold day for us to do so - it was well worth it. Frozen from exploring and catching pokemon - I took myself out for a coffee date at my favorite local shop. Afterwards, I wandered on over to a book store I’d only been in once or twice and read a little bit of a lot of books and admired the soundtrack to their store before heading home. It was long and tiring, but well worth the journey. I need to remember to be intentional about making more days like this happen, because it was like a breath of fresh air - and I could always use more of those.

|| DREAMS & SCHEMES || It is inside of this notebook that just a few days ago I compiled a very long list of goals for the new year. Most for myself, for self-respect and for my mental health. But some for fun, for love and for joy and happiness. Truth is, I’m excited for this year to unfold. I’m excited for the path that lies ahead, no matter how rugged the terrain. These weathered boots can handle it.

It’s a new year, a new page - in this book we’ve been writing I’m just so excited to be writing it with you We have so many good days left to live through So many more wrong turns and evenings in, So many more mornings like this. I’ll wake you with a kiss - cause we’re here. You and me. You were the best thing to happen in 2016.
