the scent of sorrow

Lost

The one that made a getaway, He who manages to disappear Into the crevasses left by silence, Had no meaningful story, He was merely lost to the point that he could never be found. This isn't a sombre tale Of a sad man but that of a traveller, With skin cold enough to Leave behind a never-ending Trail of stars, Hoping everything that is lost Could remain lost forever, For them to be never found.

Beerus (God of Destruction) from Dragon Ball Super said "Before creation, comes destruction." It made me think, maybe that is why I write, to recreate myself. I appreciate existential nihilism where life has no intrinsic meaning. Keeps it simple. I linked it to one of Carl Sagan's quotes which made me happy, thinking about one of the beautiful aspects of life. He said, "The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself." I think nothing is as majestic as a star. Its cool to know that I was created inside one and it dying sparked my own life. My outlook is formed by how I (choose to) interpret the world. There is so much I don't know about and so much beyond my comprehension. There are so many things that have yet to be factored into my views, making it feel like an incomplete equation. The more I use this incomplete equation, the more problems I create. But is it so easy to abandon this equation that one has been concocting since birth? Far too often I have seen us care about different perspectives as if it really matters (to one, as an individual). It is really easy to say the words "Yes I understand" or "Yes I see where you come from" but do we really take the time out of our lives to fathom the incomplete equations put forth by others. Maybe we don't because we are busy completing our own? I get that devoting time to discern one's self is the right way to go but what annoys me is us acting as if we care to understand each other. It'd be a blatant lie if I said we truly understand each other. Misunderstandings are nothing to be ashamed of, we humans are complex creatures and there are more levels to it than just understanding (as long as you realize you misunderstood and clear them away). We have difficulty recognizing ourselves, how can one be expected to grasp the essence of someone else? Why not just accept that fact that "we are different and it is hard for me to understand where you are coming from". In the ancient city of Pompeii, it's residents rest in ruins. The catastrophe desecrated the area but not their spirits. Seldom but surely, the blue moon visits the lost city and brings life back to the metropolis. Pompeii proudly lives on, as if nothing had ever happened. Smoke violently erupts out of a chimney. The baker who bakes the best bread in Pompeii decided to sell muffins as well, in order to rake in some extra cash as if nothing had ever happened. An infant resting in her mother's arms, has been crying for a while now. The tired mother still sings her child's favourite lullaby and rocks her to sleep, as if nothing had ever happened. The blacksmith that was looking for a new striker, finally found one. The apprentice holds onto the hot ductile metal as the blacksmith pounds away. Both the apprentice and the alley, listen to the reverberation caused by the metals clashing, as if nothing had ever happened. Usually the parents are strict about the curfew after 9 but the children convinced them otherwise. They were racing past each other and time, as if nothing had ever happened. Some scholars were busy pondering while some were busy debating, juggling wisdom from one hand to another. Others were digging deep down into the books, burning page after page. They were all trying to swim through the vast sea of knowledge, as if nothing had ever happened. There is an abundance of Romeos and Juliets in Pompeii. With passion and lust dripping from air, the plethora of beloveds make love to each other as if nothing had ever happened. Even the dogs can't help themselves but to howl away, as if nothing had ever happened. When a part of the world sleeps, Pompeii awakens from it's slumber. They persist, in order to remind Mount Vesuvius that they are still there as if nothing had ever happened. Not a lot changed except for the fact that the happy city of Pompeii is now full of lively ghosts. Creation requires destruction. Lost in Translation

  Disdainful, I need to stop entertaining words

Rather open the cage and let them take flight like free birds

As much as I wish for them to soar and fly

Destined to be trapped in my capricious sky,

I fight for them so they get a chance to breathe

A blade made of oxygen, looked after by the sheath,

An act similar to that of a mirror showcasing my demons

Painted them with meaning, only to fall…

We often talk about how the complexities and differences in languages can cause meanings to be lost when translated. Well what about the language which is solely understood by the heart? Aren't emotions the language of the heart? "I am feeling very sad" but how much does very sad equate to? Isn't it different for everyone? Will there be no loss of significance when describing feelings by mere words, when converting them into words?
