Dark Truth
If we just
Listened
If we just
Remembered that people don't all die
When you think they will
Then our grief would be much lesser
When death comes early
Because
We would ask so many questions
Listen so intently
Take so many opportunities
And cherished every moment
If I had only known
I would lose you when I did
I wouldn't have so many unanswered questions
I wouldn't feel so much shame
I would be sad still sure
But at least I wouldn't be filled with regret
It wouldn't have shocked me to my core
And made me question everything I believe in
Nobody knows when death will come
So love like it might be their last day
Because it might
And either your grief will be less harsh
Or theirs will be
Face death now
To find peace later
And love your loved ones today
It could be their last

It isn't just about processing their death 馃挃
It's about processing their life
Your life with them
The way they died
Their death
And life without them now
