THE PEOPLE - Peach

The people

They hate

They berate

They concentrate

All their energy

To praise the estate which

Taunts them with bait

Like a fish to a rod

They all sit in comfort

As the rich and wealthy prod

Further and further

Till the water gets murkier and murkier

Lungs polluted with the compromise

This will not be tomorrow’s promise

But everytime we pull back

They grab the reins

Play with our brains

Belittle our strain

What all will we tolerate?

Will we simply simmer in the hate?

Will we enforce the wealthy’s savior complex?

Or will we tear it from their hands

Repurpose all their bands

Put them on their knees

Like they had the weak

Let them feel their power

Slip away like soap down the shower

Drain their humanity

Like when they tore ours from us

If you can’t get your hands dirty for the U.S

Then you may as well crumble into the dust

The people

They unite

They fight

They need to do what is right

This country needs a leader

Someone more dignified than a woman beater

Someone with a sense of what is just

Someone who knows we are more than just dust

Someone who sees no class

Sees and discusses the problems of the past

Doesn’t divide but unites us with pride

Gives us liberty and the ability to decide

What is right and what we shouldn’t hide

The people

They may have bought

The message they thought

Was right, despite it being a glaring knot

But now they rise

No more of this despise

For one another

Instead we stand together

Raise our fists to fight

And finally, we do what is truly right.
