i always think it’s kind of stunning when beings come out to their parents as an alterhuman

not in a bad way, it’s just something that boggles my mind because i’d never tell my mother ANYTHING like that

so congrats to all the beings who’ve come out to their parents, i think it’s a really tough thing to do but you’re lucky to have accepting parents!

and to those that don’t have accepting parents, there are LOTS of other beings who accept you for who you are :3 and youre just as valid and loved as every other being in this community

One of the things I’ve been seeing lately in alterhuman spaces is alterhumans complaining about how therian-centric a lot of alterhuman spaces are

And as someone who’s both therian & a lot of other shit (otherkin, fictionkin etc.)- i need to point out

This is the same argument as: “Therian spaces are too centralized to wolves, dogs, and other canines.”

Which is silly, because no, that’s not actually what’s occuring most of the time.

Whats occurring most of the time is that other users online are not making the sorts of posts, places, or art pieces they want to see.

So i say it again, if you want an online community to talk more about YOU. You have to post and create and make space for yourself. The community is, at least within tumblr, not trying to shut out most others; people just like yapping about their own experiences. And from what I see- therians LOVE yapping about being nonhuman.

So, make Otherkin or Alterhuman servers dedicated to/centralized around nontherian creatures, make art and memes about being literally anything that isn’t just therian, make cool digital assets and ramble and DO STUFF.

You have autonomy online to share and create, use it.

they’re different! my canine identity is the whole of who i am, i am a GSD in every way. however my deity identity is a past life ^_^

my deity identity doesnt really have a true form like my dog identity does, i’m more of a concept than a tangible being, although i can shapeshift somewhat to become more ‘digestible’ for others if that makes sense

although, my canine identity and angel identity mixed a little to create a new one, a white wolf with wings :3 so when i’m shifted as an angel my identity can get a little muddied and then i’m a dog with wings lol

angelkin culture is being gifted angel-themed things in my childhood and forgetting about them until recently

my best friend when i was like 9 gave this to me and haven’t worn it for years because i never used to like crystal bead bracelets. i think people irl just get a kind of angel-y vibe from me i suppose? which is cool :)
