The obnoxious 'hello fellow kids' way this app prompts updates activates my pathological demand avoidance and I stretch it out for as long as I can because fuck you, I won't do what you tell me. Especially if it makes you sound like a dove soap ad.

Tumblr jumps to this 'kys' mentality (and I think these reactions are emblematic for that kind of knee jerk panicked thinking) as easily as 4chan sometimes and it strikes me as a cowardly way to escape thinking about what to do with people who have harmed others, after the fact. This way you can just decide they're irredeemable (and should take themselves out of society in some way) and wash your hands off that gnawing feeling that people who've done terrible things were, are and will be around them and we all have to exist together. People who believe they can't be good will resign themselves to be harmful. You're not helping by sticking your nose into something that frankly isn't even any of your business and is contained in someone's mind just because you like the idea of perpetual self-flagellation. And self-flagellation is NOT the same as accountability.
the thing is, if your younger self was a bigot or an abuser, u can't make people forgive you. but you still gotta forgive yourself, like that's non-negotiable, dude. that happens before u can even ask the question of earning forgiveness from anyone lese

The other day, me and a few others were talking to a teenage cousin of ours who had just entered the work force full-time. Incidentally, he had also just come back from his week of vacation. He was incredibly upset and near tears, saying that it is terrible how he has to spend every day working and his only "life" gets to happen in his designated 1-2 weeks off per year, and, in his words, "then you die."
A lot of the people listening in started laughing at him and saying that he needs to "grow up and get used to it." How brainwashed do you have to be to say these things, especially to a kid in distress? And especially when the kid is right? He is absolutely, 100% right.
We have so much evidence that this set up is not healthy physically or psychologically. We could absolutely find better ways to ensure things get done without making people feel like overused machines. Everything we do as humans should be about making our lives happier and easier so that we can enjoy this precious little time we have. Everything we do now is instead about making the select few happier while everyone else suffers.
Don't "grow up and get used to it." Keep that youthful feeling of injustice when you realize how unfair it all is. This is not natural. People made society this way and we can unmake it.

They will tell you anarchism can't work. That's just because they are so limited they can't imagine anything better than they already know being possible. Chuds' lack of imagination shouldn't limit us.

Trump trying to make "palestinian" an insult like thats a whole identity of a people who have been disenfranchised for decades. Do you realize how no one cares that he said this FOR THE SECOND TIME like oh haha that's trump for you but like biden doesn't say shit to counter this all this talking points are about vets and not how incredibly racist it is to use Palestinian as a derogatory title he'll just let it happen and won't say anything until it becomes normalized for people to say it which most trump quotes having to do with being racist and homophonic and transphobic are universally spread into mainstream culture

One cause onlyTM. But it's always the cause you're not fighting for, it's a different one. And when you move onto that cause they'll make another cause you should move onto. And so on. This way liberals can claim perpetual moral superiority while not actually significantly supporting any cause at any given time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From 'stop cop city is a stupid counterproductive cause and cop city (which isn't a big deal these activists are just hysterical busy bodies) will probably make Atlanta police less dangerous 🥰' to:
Tumblr media
'it's a righteous worthwhile cause and the protestors are brave freedom fighters I was just making fun of tortuguita's death because I hate how other people post about it.'
How bleak is it that this brainless loud-mouthed forum pedant's opinions have been circulated around here for years, they don't even believe any of the shit they say they just form their opinions on the spot in opposition to whatever they perceive as the "online leftist" position.

Kids don't care or sometimes even know how much something cost. If they didn't want it, that's just it. They didn't want it. They're not yet mired in the monetary value of stuff. They're just being honest about being disappointed. Let's not pretend expensive gifts that we don't want don't turn out to be more of a hassle than a boon for us adults. We just keep quiet about it.
"Look at this video of a child disappointed at their expensive gift! Children are so spoiled these days!"
That's cool. So, why did their parents upload their small child being upset online? In a public video, shared to the entire video? Why did they even save the recording?
Like. The kid in that scenario could be saying the most entitled nonsense in the world, and if their parents post it online to be publicly shamed, I'd still support the kid 100%. Thinking your child's life is a toy to exploit freely for #content is "spoiled"; when faced with mommy vlogers, kids should be demanding three PS5s and a new Bugatti, and we should be applauding them for it

The truth is, Democrats are just as responsible for the circling of the fascist drain as the Republicans. They've been gleefully following Republicans down a rightward path for decades now. The overton window in the US is so skewed for a reason. People keep blithering about Biden being so supportive of LGBT+ or reproductive rights, but I see him doing nothing but paying lip service to that while the states try to exterminate and imprison people. He's been doing fuckall to stop it. Talk is not saving anyone. Dinners at the white house are not stopping the harmful legislation. He doesn't care, his admin just thinks you're easy to manipulate into voting out of fear of the alternative. But the alternative is already here. People are already being forced back into the closet, awful relationships with abusers, outright attacked by fascists and pushed to suicide. This is not a what if Trump gets elected again, it's already happening quietly in many states and all that genocide Joe is interested in is taking advantage of your desperation. He sure as fuck isn't doing anything to stop it.
Tumblr media
Saying "voting doesn't matter" might reach your younger peers online but it certainly hasn't reached Clangus Hargbarg who was part of the kkk in 1951 and still sends in his ballot. He hasn't missed a one.

Israel does not hold a monopoly on being Jewish. The Jewish voices opposing their brutal genocide are, in fact, staving off the bastardisation and exploitation of Jewish wounds, grief and dignity for a colonial project under the eminence grise of USA and EU.
Israel is not the “only place” for Jews to live safely. It is not our “only home”. It is not our “greatest self-defence”. Israel is a multi-billion dollar investment by the United States, and subsequently now most of the Western states, to maintain the interests of the United States in the Middle East. Weaponising centuries ofJewish pain to assert some kind of faux-religious war “the Muslim Arabs vs the Jews”.
The billions sent to arm the IOF are not for the “safety” of Jews, it is for the destruction of Palestinians and any body, any entity, that the United States wish to point their guns at. The United States want to control the Middle East, to ensure that the oil there is theirs and theirs alone. Another means to further monopolise natural resources.
The United States will poison communities to control them, puppeteer to get what they want. They infect developing socialist nations— like Burkina Faso, Libya, Iran, Korea, Cuba— and they will do anything to prevent their sovereignty and independence. Capitalism will cease to exist if it becomes out numbered.
Israel is not about Jews, it never has been. It is a mask, a façade, bastardising and disgracing thousands of years of Jewish ideological and cultural revolution. Thousands of years of our resistance and resilience has been hijacked by capitalist greed and hunger. We are not what the Capitalists want us to be; we are not our own enemy. Jews of the world, we must unite, we must stand by our brothers and sisters in this fight against the Facist evil, in this fight against our oppressors.
We are not safe until everybody is safe. Free Palestine.

Death to Israel
Tumblr media
June 12, 2024 - UNICEF spokesman James Elder tells about his day attempting to get medical and food aid into Gaza to help the starving children there, and being once again illegally denied access by IDF. What can you say at this point except Death to Israel. [video]

I smell an excuse to not engage in direct action here. Direct action can be scary and risky, especially of this kind. Being scared is understandable. Publicly throwing around horrible accusations based on nothing is not. STFU

Reminder to those able: there are ways to throw a bit of sand into the gears of genocide.

For a fascist government any and all victims of its violence and retaliatory violence are obvious, necessary and acceptable price. The patria does not serve people. The people serve the patria. Their suffering and death is unimportant and even desirable if it serves to strengthen the zeal towards the nebulous idea of homeland.
For everyone who keeps saying “wHaT aBoUt ThE hOsTaGeS?!?! ReLeAsE tHe HoStAgEs!!1!”

It fucks with me that people see a species of tinkerers so prolific, that we've changed our way of surviving the most of all living creatures on this planet, invented things like medicine and art and decides the only thing that can make us productive is the threat of violence... What?
For all those people who say that people wouldn't work if they weren't paid, that money is the only incentive to "make" people contribute to a society, have you considered the search and rescue and lifeboat volunteers?
These are people who at times literally risk their lives to help others for no real personal reward, often alongside full time jobs.
Dartmoor search and rescue (for example) rely solely on public donations to do their work, none of the volunteers are paid, and yet, if someone gets lost on the moors or injures themselves, the teams will go out regardless of conditions and search (sometimes for hours or even days) to try and help.
The point is there are so many people out there who already do amazing things to help their communities for no/minimal reward, and if anything socialism/communism/anarchism would make their lives easier, not harder.
