It is my first Mother’s Day spent not talking to my Mom or Grandma. It’s been a hard day.

I made an alternative cheesecake today with a weight watchers recipe. Tasted fine (I liked it), but my brother-in-law’s bitch of a girlfriend made a mini-scene and claimed she didn’t want to eat it because its texture was “off” and it was made non-vegetarian. Yes, sweetie, I can’t have the triple chocolate buttercream cake you can.
I’m all for vegetarian options. Mad respect for them--I couldn’t do it, honestly, but to cause a scene? She put my mother-in-law on the spot, too. It’s disgusting. She was mad at her because she should’ve known what the cake was made with and warned her about it. She got mad at my brother-in-law, too... Like he should’ve known. And then she got an attitude with me. I’m not going to apologize for something when I didn’t do anything wrong.
I made the cake with cheesecake pudding, eggs, sugar substitute, and a few other things, and honestly, not being a vegetarian, I had no idea that it was not an option. I would’ve warned her or told her not to eat it. She’s this way with everything, though. Noodles are always too “noodle-ly,” sauce is never “garlic-y enough,” and food is always just, “okay.” She literally asked my husband’s aunt and uncle for garlic cloves because the guacamole wasn’t “up to her standards.” They made separate dishes for her and had been cooking for a few days to prepare since it was a feast for 8 people. I just want them to break up. She’s an ungrateful brat. Drives me crazy.
Let me tell you, if my husband talked that way to my family, he’d be given a stern talking to. That’s all I’m saying!

it’s the simple change of habits that count.
I now find that I can’t go a single day without an apple.

A few weeks ago I decided to get rid of what was really weighing me down: family. I’ve started completely cutting out the toxicity from my life, which meant cutting them out. I’m a bag of emotions, you guys. This is the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do.
