My perception of a good boyfriend is trust, support and effort.

Trust

If he trusts you, there's a good chance you can trust him too. But test the waters first, because not everybody has got your best interest at heart. A good indicator of trust is no or minimized jealousy.

Supportiveness 

Nothing is as toxic as being non-supportive in a relationship. Why have a relationship when it’s just a burden? Signs that your man is supportive are for instance asking how your goals are doing on a regular basis and offering help.

Effort

I once heard “you're either planned with, or played with”. I think that summarizes many of girls situations very well. Men are planners. So if you're with someone who is not planning spending time with you & you have to do most of the planning, it’s probably not a healthy dynamic. 

Effort can also be seen as investing. Whether it is money on your birthday present or just simply time. If he doesn't invest, it’s not the best. (haha, rhyme made up just rn) 

Quick side note, let him pay - I know, it‘s pretty controversial, but in my opinion, if guys don't invest in the relationship (financially and in other ways) they're just not valuing it enough. 

So Lady’s guys are complicated, but if you have a real one, it’s worth it.

Next time I’ll write about toxicity in relationships, because that is something I had to deal with the last year.
