Chapter 1: Breaking The Ice
modern au! hockey star! vi x idol! reader
inspo: @shouyuus
summary : reader, a weary trainee chasing fading dreams the more she is held back from debuting, finds their worlds colliding with vi, a rising star on a college hockey team. but as viâs successes shine brighter and their paths diverge, the weight of mismatched futures becomes unbearable. vi âtakes it upon herselfâ to end their relationship.
warnings: cocky!vi (only for this chapter), modern au!, little of college au!, and lots of angst for this chapter.
notes: im still editing this! but please enjoy!
The mirrored walls of the practice room reflected every imperfect detailâthe smudge of sweat on your forehead, the slight tremor in your legs as you held your final pose, and the hollow look in your eyes you tried to ignore. The beat of the music faded, leaving only the sound of your labored breathing and the dull ache in your muscles.
âAgain,â your dance instructor said, clapping their hands sharply. No sympathy, no reprieve. Just endless push to perfection.
You wiped your brow with the back of your hand, your eyes darting to the clock. It was late.
Viâs hockey game had probably ended hours ago, but you hadnât checked your phone. You couldnât afford distraction. Not now.
As the music restarted, you pushed yourself through the choreography, your movements robotic, devoid of the passion you once had. You stumbled on a turn, your ankle wobbling slightly, and your dance instructorâs glare could cut through the mirror she was staring at you through.
âFocus or youâll never make it.â
The words stung, but they werenât untrue. You bit your lip, swallowing the lump in your throat. You couldnât afford falter. Not when the dream you had chased for years was so close, yet so far out of reach.
When practice ended, you sank onto the floor, your back against the cold wall. Your chest heaved, and your hands trembled as you reached for your phone.
No new messages
You stared at the blank screen for a moment longer than you should have. It wasnât like Vi to go silent, but maybe that was just another sign of how things were unraveling.
With a shaky breath, you typed out a message: âHey are you okay? Havenât heard from you. I miss you.â
Your finger hovered over the send button, but before you could press it, a voice interrupted your thoughts.
âYouâre still here?â
You looked up to see one of your fellow trainees, Mel, already in a coat and standing by the door.
âYeah, justâŚcatching my breath,â you lied.
Mel bid her farewells to you and left without saying another word, the sound of the door clicking shut leaving her alone in the room.
You sent the message before you could overthink it and stood, grabbing your bag. The night outside was cold, and you already feel the soreness settling into your body. But what hurt more was the absence of Viâthe one person who had always been your escape from the endless cycle of training and exhaustion.
You needed her.
The rink was silent, the cold biting at her skin as she stepped inside. Vi was on the ice, skating back and forth in a sharp, aggressive movements, her stick slamming the puck against the boards with a hollow thud. It wasnât practiceâit was something else, something restless and angry.
âVi,â you called softly, standing at the edge of the rink. Your voice echoed, but Vi didnât stop. She kept skating, kept hitting the puck as if trying to drown out the sound of her name.
Finally, the reader stepped closer, her sneakers crushing against frost. âVi stop.â
With a frustrated groan, Vi came to a halt, her skates screeching against the ice. She turned to face you, her expression hard, almost unrecognizable. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI came because you didnât answer me. Again,â you said, crossing your arms against the cold. âYouâve been avoiding me lately and I wanna know whyâŚI deserve to know why.â
Vi leaned her stick against the boards, running a hand through her hair âIâve been busy.â
âBusy?â You repeated, your voice rising. âYouâve think thatâs an excuse? Iâve stayed up with you until three in the morning when you couldnât sleep because of a bad game. Iâve massaged your shoulders after every practice when you were too sore to move. Iâve made sure you ate when you forgot, Vi. But now youâre too âbusyâ to answer my text?â
Viâs jaw tightened, her eyes flickering with something unreadable. âIâve never asked you to do any of that.â
The words hit you like a slap. You couldnât help but let out of a chuckle, stunned. âWhat?â
âIâve never asked you to stay up, or to take care of me, or drop everything for me,â Vi says coldly. âThat was your choice.â
Your chest tightened, anger and hurt bubbling to the surface. âMy choice? You didnât seem to mind when I was helping you through every breakdown, every bad practice, every injury. But now that things are hard for me, you canât be bothered to check in?â
Viâs gaze hardened, and she stepped off the ice, her skates crunching against the rubber mats. âThis isnât about you. Itâs about us. And us doesnât workâŚâ
âWhy?â You demanded, your voice trembling. âBecause Iâm not as successful as you yet? Because Iâm not shining as bright as your hockey career?â
âBecause we are on different paths,â Vi snapped, her tone sharp. âYouâre barely holding it together, and I canât be the one to carry you through it.â
Your eyes filled with tears, but you refused to let them fall. âCarry me? Iâve done nothing but support you, Vi. Every step of the way. And you want to act like Iâm the one thatâs dragging you down?â
Vi shrugged, her face mask of indifference. âMaybe you are.â
The words cut deeper than any slap or any ache that you felt on your body. âYou donât mean that,â you whispered.
âDonât I?â Vi said, her voice devoid of emotion. âThis is exhausting. You are exhausting. And I think itâs better if both of us stop pretending this will work.â
Your breath hitched, your hands shaking. âI loved you,â you say quietly, the words trembling with pain. âI gave you everything, and this is what I get in return?â
Vi didnât reply, her silence colder than the air around them.
You scoffed âCool.â
With that, you turned and walked away, your footsteps echoing in the empty rink. Behind her, Vi stayed silent, unmoving as if sheâd decided already there was nothing left to fight for.
The outside cold stung your face, but it wasnât nearly as sharp as the ache in your chest.
The morning was quiet, but not in a peaceful way. You had to skip your classes after an emergency meeting at your company. All of the trainees were scattered throughout the room, discussing amongst each other.
You sat in the corner of the studio, your knees drawn to your chest. Your phone buzzed on the floor beside you but you didnât bother picking it up. You already knew it wasnât Vi.
You hadnât slept much, not that it was new. But this time, it wasnât the pressure of training or fear of failingâit was the look on Viâs face, the cold finality of her words
âI never asked you to do anything of thatâ
You repeated those words in your head so many times it felt like theyâd been etched into you. Each time they came back, they stung a little less, leaving behind a dull, empty ache.
âHeyâ
You looked up to see one of your close friends, Mel standing over you with a water bottle in her hands and her usual casual smirk softened into something more thoughtful. âYou look like hellâŚâ
You let out a humorless laugh âThanksâŚthatâs exactly what I needed to hear.â
Mel sat down beside you, sliding the water bottle into your lap. âDrink that. Youâll feel less like death.â
You took it without arguing, twisting it off the cap and taking a sip. Mel leaned back on her hands, watching her movement before speaking again âLet me guess, Vi?â
You froze, your fingers tightening around the water bottle. You didnât answer, but the silence was enough.
âI saw her before I left this morning,â Mel said her voice careful. âShe looked like hell too. I mean, hides it well, but you can tell when youâve been around her enough.â
âGood,â you muttered, staring down at the water bottle. âShe should feel like hell after what she said.â
Mel let out a low whistle âShit girlâŚâ
The instructor walked into the room, silence falling instantly. He scanned the group, a stern look on his face. âAlright,â he said, his voice cutting through the tension. âWeâve seen what youâre all capable of. Today, weâre announcing the new members of the upcoming girl group AURORA. Listen carefully.â
Your heart raced as you sat up straighter , trying to calm the pounding of your chest. Youâve been training under this company for over 3 years now. You just knew your time would soon come.
The instructor called out a 3 girls names. None of them were yours and honestly you were starting to lose hope.
âMel Merdarda.â
Melâs name was called, and the room filled with automatic claps and cheers. You turned to your friend with a wide grin, though she noticed a flash of concern in your eyes when Mel caught your gaze.
Who were you gonna talk shit with now?
And then the instructor paused, scanning the room once more. There was a slight hesitation before he said the words that would change everything.
â(Y/N) (L/N)â
Your chest tightened. You barely registered the sound of applause as you stood frozen for a beat longer than you should have. Your name.
You had finally made it. ďżź

â Christmas Won't Be The Same Without You.
°ââ.ŕłŕż*:シ°ââ.ŕłŕż*:シ°ââ.ŕłŕż*:シ°ââ.ŕłŕż*:シ°ââ.ŕł
Pairing: Daisuke x GN! Reader
Warnings: None, just fluff again :3
Wc: 1.3k+
Author's Note: Tadaa!! It's almost Christmas time baby! I'm super duper excited as it is already half of November!! Are you all ready to celebrate it, cause I sure am!
The snow was falling softly outside, coating the world in a blanket of white. The small town where Daisuke had grown up was quiet, the streets lined with festive lights and decorations. Inside his parents' house, however, there was nothing quiet about it. The living room was alive with the hum of Christmas music playing softly in the background, the scent of pine and cinnamon filling the air, and the soft crackle of a fire burning in the hearth. It was the perfect Christmas setting, and you were sharing it with Daisuke.
âCan you believe it?â Daisuke said, his voice full of excitement as he stood beside you in the entryway. His eyes sparkled with that familiar joy you adored. âChristmas at my parentsâ house. I'm sure they're just as excited you are to meeting each other!â
You smiled at him, feeling a warmth spread through you as he took your hand, pulling you into the house. âIâm really happy to be here with you, Daisuke. This place feels so⌠cozy.â
His grin widened. âItâs definitely cozy. And my momâs cooking is legendary, so get ready for some serious holiday feasting. You might not even have room for dessert by the end of the night.â
You laughed, feeling your stomach growl at the thought of what awaited. Youâd heard a lot about Daisukeâs momâs cooking, but this would be your first time tasting it. You could already smell the roast turkey and baked goods wafting from the kitchen.
The house was warm, full of life, and adorned with decorations that felt like they had been carefully placed with love. Christmas stockings hung from the mantle above the fireplace, each one bearing a name stitched in gold thread, and a grand tree stood in the corner, its branches weighed down with ornaments, tinsel, and fairy lights. The atmosphere was peaceful but bustling, with Daisukeâs parentsâhis mother in a festive red apron and his father pulling drinks from the fridgeâfilling the space with energy and laughter.
Daisuke led you to the living room where his family was already gathered. His parents, always warm and welcoming, greeted you with open arms.
âAh, there you are, so you're the one my son keeps going on and on about!â His mother beamed as he mumbled something to her, seeming embarrassed she would expose him about that. She then stepped forward to give you a hug. âWeâve been waiting for you both. Everythingâs ready for dinner, but we can always add more if youâre hungry before the big meal!â
âYou must be starving after the drive!â his father added with a grin, holding out a glass of eggnog. âDonât be shy, help yourself.â
You chuckled and accepted the drink, glancing over at Daisuke, who was practically glowing in his own way, standing close by with a proud smile.
âYou must be excited to have us here,â you teased.
He nodded eagerly. âAre you kidding? Iâve been counting down the days to Christmas here with you and my family. I think Iâve spent almost every Christmas here since I was a kid, and this time itâs even better because youâre with me.â
The sincerity in his voice made your heart skip a beat. There was something about being here, in the warmth of his familyâs home, surrounded by love, that made everything feel like it was falling into place.
âIâm really happy to be here, too,â you said softly, meeting his gaze. âIt feels so... right.â
Daisuke grinned and reached for your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze before turning to his parents. âI think itâs time for us to get the party started! We still need to do the Secret Santa exchange, and Iâm pretty sure everyoneâs excited for that.â
His mom laughed. âOh yes, we canât forget about that! We all got something special this year, so I hope everyoneâs ready for a little holiday fun.â
Dinner was a true feast. The table was piled high with everything you could imagineâroast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, roasted vegetables, and an assortment of freshly baked rolls. In the center, a large cranberry sauce dish sat alongside platters of sweet potatoes and baked brussels sprouts. Daisukeâs mom had clearly outdone herself, and as you dug into your meal, you could tell that everyone was savoring each bite.
Between mouthfuls, you shared stories with Daisukeâs family, laughing and chatting about everything from your childhood traditions to more recent adventures. Daisukeâs dad was particularly fond of telling embarrassing stories about Daisuke when he was little, which had everyone in stitches. Daisuke, for his part, seemed unbothered by it all, even joining in with some of his own stories about his mischievous younger days.
But it wasnât just the food or the laughter that made this night feel specialâit was the way Daisuke kept glancing at you with that soft, affectionate look in his eyes, the way his hand would subtly brush against yours under the table, or how heâd pull you close during moments when no one was looking, as if to remind you that this was your time together.
--
After dinner, Daisuke insisted on taking you outside to see the backyard, which, as it turned out, had a stunning view of the town covered in snow. The Christmas lights from nearby houses reflected off the snow, creating a soft, magical glow that made the night feel like something out of a holiday movie.
âCome here,â Daisuke said, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and guiding you to the porch. âThis is one of my favorite parts of Christmasâjust looking out over the snow. My family used to come out here every Christmas Eve when I was younger and just⌠enjoy the peace.â
You stood with him, watching the snow fall gently, the cool air brushing against your skin. His presence beside you, his warmth, was enough to make everything feel even more magical.
âI never imagined Iâd get to spend Christmas like this,â you murmured, leaning into him. âItâs been perfect.â
Daisuke smiled down at you, his fingers threading through yours as he pulled you a little closer. âIâve been looking forward to this for so long, just to share it all with you. Christmas is better when youâre with the people you love, and thatâs all I want for us.â
You leaned up to kiss him, the moment soft, gentle, and full of meaning. When you pulled away, Daisukeâs face was alight with happiness, his eyes sparkling.
âMerry Christmas, the most beautiful person I've ever seen,â he said softly.
You chuckled at his compliment as you stared deeply into his eyes in an, oh such affectionate way.
âMerry Christmas, Handsome,â you whispered back.
Later, as the evening drew on, everyone gathered around the tree for the Secret Santa exchange. Youâd gotten Daisukeâs mom, and after some playful teasing, she opened the gift youâd picked outa beautiful hand-knitted scarf, which she immediately wrapped around her neck with a delighted laugh. Then, Daisuke gave you your gift, a small box wrapped with care. When you opened it, you found a delicate silver bracelet with a charm that read together, a reminder of how far youâd come and how much you meant to each other.
You blinked back tears as you hugged him, your heart swelling with gratitude. âI love it, Daisuke. Thank you.â
âIâm glad you like it,â he said, his voice full of affection as he kissed your forehead. âThis is just the beginning of our holiday together. I want to make this Christmas the best one yet.â
As the evening wound down, the two of you snuck off to a quiet corner of the living room, away from the laughter and chatter, to enjoy each otherâs company in peace. With the soft glow of the Christmas tree lights surrounding you, Daisuke wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close.
âThis is all I ever wanted,â he whispered, his voice full of love. âTo be with you, here, now.â
And in that moment, surrounded by the warmth of his family, the love between you, and the gentle snowfall outside, you knew he was right. It didnât matter where you were, as long as you were together.
âMerry Christmas, Daisuke,â you whispered, kissing him again.
âMerry Christmas,â he replied, smiling softly, his heart as full as yours.

Authors note: Hii i hope this is what you were looking for! thank you for the request :3 Let me know if theres any mistakes !
Anya mouthwashing x Nonbinary reader
Fluff, established relationship, lmk if i missed anything!
You, Anya, Daisuke and Swansea had met up in the main area during your breaks simply just to talk about how everythingâs going and listen to Daisuke talk about his favourite pokĂŠmonâs, thats all you gathered anyway as your headache was unbearable and making it hard for you to listen in on what they were talking about.
After a while Anya noticed something was wrong and at first she thought you were probably just tired and wouldnât want her to make a big deal out of it but after seeing you caress the side of your head groaning slightly out of pain it hit her that it was more than just tiredness.
âAre you okay?â Her words slapped you out of thought as you groggily averted your gaze towards her âHm? oh yeah iâm fine, just didnât sleep that wellâ She hums in acknowledgment even though her expression tells you she knows somethings off, but decided to take your word for it and leave it be for now.
As you all went back to work you couldnât help but rest your back against the wall, eventually sliding down as you hid your head in your knees, taking a small break from work as your headache was not only getting worse but also making you cough every five seconds.
You sigh in annoyance while attempting to massage your temples hoping it would ease the pain. You heard footsteps approaching as you sat there contemplating whether you should look up and see who it is or stay on the ground and pray it isnât Curly or Jimmy while trying your best to calm your headache down, you decided for the latter.
âOh god y/n are you okay?â A familiar voice caught your attention as you looked up only to find Anya looking down at you anxiously, her face full of worry and concern. âIâm fine just needed a little breakâ you said as you closed your eyes, the lights only worsening your headache.
ây/n i wanna believe that i really do but i could hear you coughing all the way down the hall- are you sure youâre okay?â she asked as she crouched down to your level, slowly raising her hand to your forehead. âJesus y/n.. youâre heating up!â she yelped, helping you stand as you leaned your back against the wall once more. âIâm fine, really. Itâs just a little headache itâll go awayâ she looked at you unconvinced as she held your hand and brought you to medical despite you insisting you were fine, laying you down on the bed while she looked through the cabinets for some medicine.
âYou donât have to do this you know.. iâll just walk it offâ You said as you slowly sat up, holding your head as you groaned in pain, it felt like the whole room was spinning. âY/n, youâre ill, iâm not just gonna sit here and do nothing.. i care about you, not only as your nurse but also as your girlfriend. Take these, they should help ease the headacheâ She said softly as she handed you some medicine and a glass of water.
âAnya, really, you donât have to do this.. i donât wanna be a burden. Iâll just ask curly if i can take the day off or something..â you said as you swallow the pills she had given you, handing her the glass when you were done, groggily getting up to leave before Anya stood in front of the doorway, blocking you from leaving.
âYouâre not a burden, y/n. Lay down, please. I canât go around knowing youâre sick and not do anything about it.. lay down and let me make you feel better, please.â she pleaded as she looked at you, holding you hand and raising the other one to your cheek, softly rubbing her thumb back and forth.
As much as you didnât want to be a burden your headache was getting horrible and the thought of laying in a bed with your girlfriend holding you company didnât sound so bad, it was either that or work your ass off for the next few hours. âOkay, but donât over work yourself, the headache will go away after a whileâ You said as her gaze softened, pressing a kiss to your cheek before laying you back down and making the lights more dim so the brightness wouldnât worsen your headache.
âIâll go tell Curly youâre not feeling well. Iâll be right back, okay?â she said softly as you turned to look at her âMhm, love youâ you said as she turned to walk out the door, quickly turning around and saying âi love you tooâ before strolling down the hall, leaving you feeling tired. Taking a nap sounds pretty nice right now. Closing your eyes makes the headache a bit more bearable as you end up fall asleep not soon before Anya came back.
She walked into the room barely able to make out your sleeping figure in the dim lights, smiling at you as she kissed your forehead and muttered a quiet âi love youâ before turning around to continue her work, your light snores like lullabies to her as she took a deep breath, relaxing her tense muscles knowing youâre resting still in her reach, knowing she can keep you safe.

i love the headcanon that daisuke is an artist because it ties a lot of things together. daisuke took the internship because he didn't know what to do in life, but what if he didn't know WHAT ELSE to do? everyone knows being an artist doesn't make money and his mom probably heavily discouraged it and got him the internship so he could at least do SOMETHING good. i think he would talk about this with swansea too (maybe anya too cause i like to think they're close)
someone pls write a fic where daisuke shows curly a pre-crash curly drawing to lift his spirits đ

Alive, Dreaming â Daisuke x gn! reader
summery: reuniting with Daisuke when he comes back.
tw: none.
a/n: a gift for enduring all that angst I threw at you :) (title is a song, not a song fic tho)
wc: 0.4k
Master List
You paced the living room excitedly, eyes constantly glancing between your watch and the front door. You were already grinning maniacally, making sure all the decorations were set in place perfectly. Daisuke was going to be here any second now, and you needed this small party to go off with a bang. You had invited a few of the people Daisuke used to hang out with at parties, but when you mentioned this party wasnât gonna have alcohol or loud music they made excuses as to why they couldnât show. Whatever, they were probably a bunch of jerks anyways.Â
Your heart spiked when you heard footsteps outside of the door, Daisuke and his moms voice muffled through the door. You were basically jumping off the walls when you heard the keys jingling to open the door, hands shaking as you held the small confetti popper. The second the door opened you couldnât hold yourself back, pulling the string sending confetti towards your long time friend and boyfriend.
âSurprise~!â You shouted, hopping up and down on the balls of your feet, your party hat hanging on for dear life.Â
Daisuke stared at the scene in surprise before the biggest grin youâve ever seen tugged at his lips, shouting your name excitedly before swooping you up into a hug. You both squeezed each other like your lives depended on it, taking in the other's presence after being deprived of it for over a year.Â
âGod I missed you,â Daisuke whispered, burying his face into your shoulder. His mother shuffled past, sending the two of you a soft smile before heading to the kitchen to get the cake out.Â
âI missed you too,â You murmured back, rocking both of you back and forth gently. Pulling away slightly, you grinned as Daisuke pouted at you. Not giving him a chance to whine, you pulled him in for a short kiss, letting your love and longing linger on his lips as you pulled away. Much to your dismay (not) Daisuke chased after you, not letting you get away and pressing another kiss to your lips. This one slightly deeper with more conviction.
âWho wants cake?â Daisukeâs mother called out, not needing to leave the kitchen to know you both were having a moment.Â
Grinning at the two-toned haired man you held in your arms, you untangled your limbs, interlocking your fingers and pulling him with you towards the kitchen. Daisuke couldnât be happier to be back home with you and his family. He couldnât be more grateful that Pony Express was shut down now, that he wouldnât have to do that again. Sure, he met some great people, and they definitely changed his life (for better and worse), but he wasnât made for the stars.Â
Sure, he was still uncertain what his future held for him, but he did know one thing. He didnât want to live a future without you by his side.

Jimmy is short for James, so that'd be an odd coincidence. I've seen some people theorize it could be something like Juarez? There's more Asian Latine folks than people think, so it's not *entirely* out of the question...
i don't think it's entirely out of the question cause the last letter looks like a Z but it's real hard to read his scribble writing đ
daisuke juarez has a ring to it too i'm thinking his mom is japanese and his dad might be latin
