Hi guys, I really hate doing this, but 2020 has been kicking my ass. I’m a disabled, mixed-black woman with PTSD and no family to lean on. I had to drop out of school at the beginning of 2020, before the pandemic even started, to focus on my health & security and I don’t qualify for any pandemic aid in my country because of this. I’ve been getting by on savings I’ve scraped together since I was a teenager and the little bit of disability I get, and I’d honestly consider that enough to get by if my phone didn’t break suddenly and I didn’t need a 3k dental surgery I have to pay for entirely out of pocket on top of the fact that I’m kind of drowning in student loan debt. I need a phone in order to keep getting disability aid and to get medicine, and I need this dental surgery before (more) permanent damage is done.
I’d really love to be offering readings on my Ko-Fi, but my phone truly gave up the ghost and won’t even turn on. If you’re okay with a text or audio-only reading, I’d love to offer you discounted readings.
If you can help out or signal boost, anything is appreciated! 💖

So recently the mayor of my city placed a bunch of sharp stones under a bridge commonly used by homeless people to escape the harsh tropical storms we experience during the summer
A priest decided that was an utterly anti humanitarian course of action (rightfully so) and so his solution.. was to destroy those rocks with a hammer.
I'm not Catholic (in fact, I grew up Jewish and am now atheist) but I feel this is what religion is supposed to be about. Using the divine to help humans behave a little more... human.

“Black lives matter” does not mean “fuck anyone who’s not black,” it means “support black people.”

This GoFundMe was made on the 6 august 2016
It’s now 1 October 2020
26-year-old Jamarion Robinson’s grandmother Beverly Nixon said her grandson was bipolar and schizophrenic. Still got shot 76 (!!!) times. Would a white person get the same treatment?
The witness said he saw more than a dozen patrol cars at the complex where US Marshals killed Robinson on August 5, 2016. Why were there no behavioral specialist? Surely one of them would know how to interact with a bipolar schizophrenic better than the police.
I’m absolutely disgusted.
Here’s Jamarion’s mother’s GoFundMe in case anyone is willing to help.

It’s May, it’s Veterans Appreciation month, the month that some people claim doesn’t exist so they can use it as an excuse for their homophobia. It’s also Victory in Europe day for the UK. Yet none of those people seem to be celebrating the veterans they care so much about, but you can bet they’ll bring it up when pride month rolls around.
I want to thank every single person who laid down their life to fight for us, those who still live, and the families of those who fight. Whether they do that now or did it for us 100 years ago.
Thank you ❤️
There’s been a lot of controversy about the rainbow poppy badge and I wanted to say something about it.
(None of these photos are mine)
First of all:
To those people saying that veterans only get ‘a minute/day a year’, no. May is Veterans appreciation Month; which you would know if you actually cared about soldiers and didn’t just use them as an excuse for your homophobia.
Second:
This picture doesn’t correlate with the First World War directly but it’s still important and the quote underneath it breaks my heart. The rainbow poppy represents members of the LGBT community who also fought in the war- their names aren’t engraved on memorial stones. Men were spitefully discharged if their sexual orientation became public.
Third:
Nobody is trying to ‘take over’ Remembrance Day or ‘make it all about gay pride’. While we’ve come a long way, homophobia still exists. Just yesterday I was referred to as ‘attention seeking’ and ‘privileged’, I left and met up with two of my friends to find out that they’d been called ‘f*gs’.
People fought and died for this country, I know that I have nothing but respect for those soldiers. But that respect doesn’t come at the expense of the LGBT community. Don’t put down one group of people to big up another one.
