Unpopular opinions about Lily Evans?
Y’know, the thing that really bothers me about HP isn’t that Lily ends up with James, but that Lily is heralded as some sort of paragon of virtue whilst simultaneously marrying someone who viciously bullied another kid at their school.  And not just any kid, her previous best friend.  Personally, I can’t parse that.  I don’t see that James could’ve changed enough for Lily to be interested in him, particularly as we learn that he continues his vendetta with Severus behind Lily’s back.
But she was.  She was more than just interested - she married him, and bore him a child.  And perhaps we can say that James just acted brilliantly around her, and that she was somewhat unaware of the extent of his previous behaviour, and he managed to convince her that he was different.
Perhaps.
But then I sometimes consider the uncomfortable suggestion that Lily wasn’t that nice a person.  Petunia certainly isn’t, and perhaps the apple doesn’t fall from the tree.  I might appreciate Severus as a character, but he’s hardly impeccably behaved - yet Lily was his best friend for years.  James was a merciless bully and she married him.  Sirius, James’ best friend, tried to murder a classmate (again, not any classmate, but her ex-best friend!) - and she welcomed him into the family.  Peter, another of James’ best friends, was entrusted with their safety - not because he was beloved but because they thought that he was inconsequential.
And sometimes, if you step back and look at the characters in that framing, you think, “Actually, they’re all terrible people.”  Lily, perhaps, included.

Do you ever think about how Cho Chang was ridiculed and abandoned by her friends while she was depressed and had emotional breakdowns about Cedric’s death? Do you ever think about how this was also probably a realization for Cho that the place where they were supposedly meant to be safe and protected was no longer a sanctuary but could easily turn into a death trap, which tried nothing at all to protect its students, but happily left them to their own devises in a potentially life threatening events? And all this combined likely influence her breakdowns even more and yet in-universe it’s brushed off like it’s nothing, like Cho’s grief and fear aren’t that important in the long run.

Okay, guys, I’ve been thinking about Victorian Era England lately and specifically about lesbians. So, there would be one, called something like Dahlia Atteberry, a noblewoman who dazzles the court with her intellect, and she would have an affair with another noblewoman, named something like Olivia Dalton, and Olivia would be married to like the crown favored Duke James Dalton (because James is a name for assholes obviously) and while all this is happening Dahlia would be writing novels that wow the public under a pseudonym William Cambridge

Harry might scrape by with one or two clever one liners each book, but Ron is consistently so funny and dry and I hate that it’s not as appreciated by fandom. Even the people who defend this poor guy usually do it in terms of his relationship with/ importance to Harry - reminding people what a brave, loyal friend he is, which, yes cool but there’s more. Anyway I really want to make a post similar to all the ones made for Harry, citing all his witty comments from the books but I am also very lazy.

Steve Rogers did, in fact, realize that something was off when he saw the outline of the woman’s odd bra (a push-up bra, he would later learn), but being an officer and a gentleman, he said that it was the game that gave the future away.

Am I the only one who has noticed that no one is allowed to be friends in the HP series? Dean and Seamus? They seem like good friends. GAY. Luna and Ginny? They‘re friendly, aren’t they? GAY. Parvati and Lavender? The best of friends! GAY. Albus made a new friend, they’re so close! FUCKING GAY. Cmon, this is getting ridiculous people! (Not that I don’t ship some of these)
And also, no one can have an enemy without them being gay. Draco and Harry hate each other! GAY. Pansy and Hermione are total opposites. GAY.
I mean, Seriously?
Lol pls don’t hate me
I do love half of these

okay so like i know it’s been months and that the m*rvel and r*ssos did much worse to Ryan Coogler and Taika Waititi, but i’m in a mood and since i’ve yet to see anyone point it out, i’m going to: one of the main points of the end of spider-man: homecoming is that Peter refused to be an avenger and then in infinity war they have t*ny make him one and the music swells as if it’s some big monumental moment that Peter’s been waiting for but like ???? he had already been offered this and said no!
