Junior shook his head. “just worried about Jaime and Aurora.” Okay maybe he was a little homesick but concern for them was the most prominent thing

“Do I have to get down?” Junior really didn’t want to do that. Not while daddy was sad. He wanted to be able to give him a lot of hugs. “Because I don’t wanna.”

…aw, nuts. there was enough of piper in this kid to know when he was feeling off about something, apparently. jason’s not sure if he’s GLAD about that, or a little flustered–now he can’t really lie and say it’s okay, junior. daddy’s fine. he settles for brushing a kiss on junior’s forehead, murmuring love you, too, before whistling for achilles.

The little boy frowned. able to tell that something was wrong but not exactly what. He wrapped his arms around Jason’s neck. “I love you daddy...” He said softly. That usually worked right?

he should’ve seen that coming, huh? jason tries to smile at the confusion, but finds he’s only worrying himself more. maybe they should call him leo more often. they did name him that for a reason. and said reason was continually over at their house, confusing them all with ‘which leo did they ask for this time?’ shenanigans. hence the junior…but…still.

           `nevermind, buddy. don’t worry about it. now…d’you wanna take achilles                            for a walk with daddy? he’s been cooped up all day.`

The little boy blinked at him. He only understood his name and the word tiny in that sentence. His head tilted as he looked up at him. “Da?” 

"Leo!" He giggled again, kissing his dad's cheek

               he’s a little out of it for a moment, wondering if the litte boy               minds being called junior rather than his actual given name.               but the tiny kiss on the cheek pulls his attention away, shifting               so he’s holding junior–leo, damn it–more securely. and then,               he just has to ask. as if a kid of his age is going to understand               the concerns behind it.
