personally i like the thought of jingyi wearing a dress but he often has to opt for pants since he moves and walks around lanling a lot bc he oversees and trains the disciples and stuff, also as the co leader of lanling jin he basically accomplishes half of the sect leader duties on jin ling's behalf. two husbands navigating the sect politics tgt 🥀🥀

thinking about that one of the recent orv chapters with dokja and persephone and thought of someone or something imitating jingyi to catch jin ling's attention during a night hunt.

probably a huli jing or anyone that can create illusions or shapeshift. jin ling being caught off guard when some creature mimicked jingyi— wearing jin robes 🔥 safe to say sect leader jin almost got killed tha day.

i was looking for possible given names for jingyi and stumbled upon the name “shujin” and i had a silly idea.

i think it'd be funny if jingyi had a given name that sounded like or had “jin” on it so him and jin ling could tease tf out of each other by calling their names who sounded like “lan” and “jin”.

JL: “you can never beat me in archery, lan shujin.”

LJY: “maybe not, but you can't beat me in combat either, jin rulan.”

extra points if they ended up getting so used to calling each other that, it came to a point that hearing each other calling them other names weird + then hearing other people call them that is even WEIRDER. (the intimacy of calling each other by names others do not refer you)

personally if jingyi really were to have shujin as his given name, i can imagine that he grew up hating it because POSSIBLY people like to point out how his name doesn't suit him at all.

Post-canon Wei ying’s dynamic with the juniors is so funny to me bcs these kids do not understand how terrifying this man is. They’re like “oh Wei wuxian yeah he’s a fucking idiot” meanwhile everybody older than them remembers him slaughtering thousands and commanding an army of ghosts against the Wens. Everyone who was older remembers that he was the only reason they won the sunshot campaign.

And I think it would be so funny the moment that some mission goes south and Wei Ying has to take control of the situation in order to save them and be actually fights for the first time in front of them.

These kids would be like bro tf as the silly guy they all these suddenly exploded with resentful energy - like we know he can control the energy itself in a combative way (eg. He spears wen chao and wen zhuliu in the show), so he’s like tearing these enemies apart and the juniors are just watching.

And then at the end he turns around and his eyes are still red and chenqing is in his hands and they’re all just staring at him in bewilderment. Ofc (being the idiot he is) Wei Ying immediately freaks outs and assumes they’re all disgusted by him.

That is until Jingyi crashes out and was like “THAT WAS SO COOL WHAT THE HELL” and Jin Ling is just mad that he always makes them fight when he can obviously hand himself. Wei Ying is dumbfounded for a sec but then he’s really happy because he was so scared for a sec there.

The juniors are Wei Yings number one fans nobody can convince me otherwise.
