So here’s my takeaways from this:

-Wizards was never going to fully pursue the Chandra/Nissa relationship. My best guess; foreign markets (i.e., China, Russia, etc) would never have allowed it. Which is its own pile of bullshit, but whatever. Separate post for that some day.

-Weisman wanted to, at the very least, do the break up (that was planned from the start) better than how we got it, but The Powers That Be intervened.

Given Weisman’s credentials on LGBT issues, I really don’t think he was the one who called to retcon Chandra’s feelings for Nissa as platonic. To me, it really seems like that order came up from higher in the food chain.

But all that said, if this is how Wizards/Hasbro are going to treat the story moving forward...I really can’t allow myself to support it. At least, not in good conscience.

I’ll still play Commander, obviously. But buying product? I’ll stick to buying singles that I want from the secondary market. And no more. As far as the story goes, if what we’ve gotten so far is all we can expect moving forward, I can’t bring myself to support Wizards like I have in the past.

This sucks, man.
