Hey! My name's Thorn, and I live in lovely Aotearoa. Any pronouns are fine. I'll always respect your pronouns, though! I love writing, reading (especially SFF), crochet, games, and anything chocolaty. I also love tabletop roleplaying quite a lot. Kia ora! Ko Thorn tōku ingoa, me ka noho au ki Aotearoa ātaahua. He Pākehā ahau.

Some magical Misfits from ep 9 of second season.
SAM!!! I love her so much.
I was saying earlier I would be fine with Sam and Evan being like platonic life partners but I change my mind and want them to smooch. I mean I'd still be fine with them not but I am Mike Tyson with those pigeons about them.
EDIT: I might draw them smooching because as an artist, I have that power. I can manifest that shit!

Meet Mohammed
Mohammed @mohammedalhabil lives with his mother Ibtisam, his sister Noha, and his sister Nour. They are a loving family, but have had more than their fair share of struggles. Mohammeds father was martyred by the occupation in its 2014 aggression. Ibtisam and Omar, Mohammed’s older brother, supported the family themselves for many years. Then, in December 2023, Omar was martyred by the occupation while he and Mohammed were out gathering firewood. Mohammed was severely injured in the same attack.
This was not the last time Mohammed was injured by IOF violence. Mohammed has been injured on four separate occasions, resulting in his left leg being critically wounded. He had to have a full cast put on, rendering him unable to move any part of his leg.
He undergoes regular physiotherapy when it is safe enough to travel to the clinic, but unfortunately this is not enough to heal his wound. Mohammed is going to require intense, specialized treatment in order to fully heal his leg and regain as full of function as possible. Due to the occupation’s systematic destruction of Gaza’s medical infrastructure, this cannot be done in Gaza.
Mohammed will need to travel abroad to treat his leg, which will be a complex and expensive proposition. Just passing from Gaza into Egypt costs thousands of dollars, not to mention the costs of lodging, food, medication, and medical appointments. He is trying to raise funds so that when the border reopens, he will be able to arrange passage into Egypt, and begin his journey to fully healing.
His family is already struggling to survive, relying on mutual aid for food and other basic necessities. They lost their home due to IOF attack, and none of them are able to work. This means Mohammed has no way to pay for his travel and treatment costs without your support.
Please help Mohammed be able to afford the treatment he needs
Thank you❤️❤️

Senators are going to vote on whether or not we should continue to send aid to Israel on Wednesday, November 13th. Call them, bombard their phone lines with calls. Every fucking day. We have a chance of doing something about this.

I know most of tumblr is thinking about the USA right now. but fuck the nz government right now too. tomorrow, the treaty principles bill, the 'worst, most comprehensive breach of Te Tiriti in modern times' is being introduced to parliament early, because there were activations planned country wide and the cowards decided to pull it forwards. fuck this government. a friend of mine had to go home early, crying. I've been in shock all day since it came out.
check on your Māori friends, e hoa mā. see what they need. see how you can help. everyday, we see and experience racism. from people around us, up to our government. community care will save us.

Tipua: the wrath of Ngārara...
...has just hours to go and is around $1000 NZ/$600 USD from its funding goal!
Support indigenous TTRPG design and get access to a cool spin on the Fate system in the process. The game and its setting are steeped in tikanga and te ao Māori: Tipua is set on the distant planet of Karito—a vast, labyrinthine world where tangled rivers wind through swampy wetlands, shadowy forests, ancient pā (fortification sites), and the mysterious portals known as Ngā Pūmotomoto. For those of you who have experienced the wonders of Aotearoa and Te Wai Pounamu, you will see some obvious similarities.
It's so affordable too. $20 NZ (about 12 USD) nabs you the digital rulebook and printable custom Fate tokens, as well as a social media shout out and access to the backers discord.
If nothing else: please have a read of the Kickstarter and share this post around! Not long to go and it would amazing if this awesome Māori-led team could reach their funding goal.

THE TREATY PRINCIPLES BILL IS BEING PRESENTED TO THE HOUSE TOMORROW!!!!!!!
This matters to EVERYONE in our country! If you're Māori this is about our LITERAL existence, if you're Pākehā, tauiwi, tangata Tiriti this concerns you because Tiriti is what gives you the privilege of existing on this whenua! The Waitangi Tribunal has already said this Bill will be the biggest Waitangi breach ever. YOU have a responsibility to do something.
ACT, our coalition government, and the Ministry of Justice have been intentionally keeping this bill under the wraps. Mad mihi to the MoJ analyst who leaked that draft though (I'm sure they got sacked if not massive repercussions).
What we know so far is that Te Pāti Māori, Green Party, and Labour WILL NOT be voting for this and that ACT, NZ First, and National WILL be voting for this tomorrow. NZ First and National have said that they WILL NOT support this Bill after its first reading so it will go to Select Committee and then die at first reading.
National and NZ First have said they'll only support this Bill to first reading (thankfully) but there is always the chance of closed door promises & favours and we still need to advocate for this disgusting bill to die.
I'll post more about submissions when they open for Select Committee but I'm happy to help answer questions or help with that and the process.
But the racist idiots to email and drill in that you DO NOT want this Bill are...
ACT MPs
1. David Seymour (Email: [email protected] ) (the one bigoted brain cell behind this bill)
2. Brooke Van Velden ([email protected])
3. Nicole McKee ([email protected])
4. Todd Stephenson ([email protected])
5. Andrew Hoggard ([email protected])
6. Karen Chhour ([email protected])
7. Mark Cameron ([email protected])
8. Simon Court ([email protected])
9. Parmjeet Parmat ([email protected])
10. Laura Trask ([email protected])
11. Cameron Luxton ([email protected])
AND
- Prime Minister Christopher Luxon ([email protected])
- Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters ([email protected])
If you're able to participate with any part of the hīkoi please do and please be safe!!!!
Toitū te Tiriti! Ake ake ake!

The bill has now been presented, but the hīkoi is on Monday (correct me if I'm wrong.) Keep sending those emails, hīkoi if you can (stay hydrated!), and keep updated on these events! My go-to source is Waatea News.

Bloodhunt is such a cool game! I’m so sad it didn’t do well, but happy the servers are still online for now.
My last game was so tense: was down to the final two with the playable area having shrunk to around the crane. I climbed to the top and managed to take out the other player. My first time winning a match, I was very happy!!!
If anyone still plays and wants pals to hunt with: my sharkmob ID is caliavis. I main warden because gaining a moment of invulnerability is so helpful with my panic response when being shot at haha.

My job now is to outlive that man.
I will outlive him. I will be here when he is gone. I will be here when he has been erased. I will be here, telling stories, loving my wife, protecting my friends and family, cherishing joy and kindness and diversity. I will be here. He will not. It is only a matter of time.
