Ichigo is used to his opponents screaming 'impossible' at him, he's also used to people around him saying that something is impossible before he proves them wrong and does whatever it was they had been talking about.
It had gotten to the point that he became a little paranoid at hearing the word brought up around things that truly should be impossible even if they were minor things.
"That hair color is impossible."
"It's impossible to do more than three thousand push-ups in one hour."
"It's impossible to hit a perfect bullseye ten times in ten shots."
"It's impossible to have talent without even a small amount of training."
"It's impossible to be good at every spot you try."
It had gotten to the point that Ichigo would slap his hand over his friends' mouths whenever the word 'impossible' was starting to be said, or he would plug his ears as quickly as he could, even though sometimes he wasn't quick enough.
It was his own fault really. He had been spending lunch with Orihime on a normal Thursday, the only day of the week that their lunches lined up together because of their university classes.
Orihime had taken a creative writing class this semester, one that Ichigo had been lucky enough to not have to take, you didn't need creative writing to be a translator. Orihime had been talking about her latest assignment in the class when it happened, and because he had only been half paying attention it was too late for him to react before Orihime's full quick paced rant was over.
"The new assignment is so interesting, Kurosaki-kun. We have to write a short story about impossibilities becoming reality. Some of my classmates said that it would be impossible for a person to suddenly switch genders after having chemicals spill on them, another said time travel was impossible, one even said that going far enough back in time to make a difference was impossible. Oh one of my favorites was it's impossible to have soulmates, can you imagine having someone perfect for you Kurosaki-kun? Or another was that it's impossible to be a near perfect being."
"You could write about any of the impossible things I've done." Ichigo replied absently, his mind working on switching from learning French to speaking Japanese.
"True, can you imagine all those new impossibilities happening to you, it would be so funny." Orihime had laughed.
Ichigo had frozen in place as what had been said finally registered. He turned wide, betrayed eyes on his friend before standing so quickly that his chair tipped over and clattered loudly on the floor, then he was pushing his way out of the cafe and running towards his apartment as fast as he could to get away from the 'impossible'.

Ymir leaned back on her palm as she gazed out over the gray sands and glowing tree of the Paths, her elbow locked to hold up the weight of not only herself, but that of the precious life growing inside her for the last nine hundred years. Her other hand rubbed the side of her distended stomach, humming softly. Her eyes their natural blue as she considered how she could best help her people, no longer truly wishing for the destruction of all life.
Ymir had been surprised when she had been searching through the paths for her most desired outcome when suddenly every string was ripped from her fingers. It had been two hundred years of being locked in the Paths before it had happened, she had been whispering to and nudging people to get what she wanted for her people. The strings of fate had doubled when she had finally been able to slip back onto the paths, all the new strings that had burst into being at different places in time. When she followed the closet one backwards she found that it started with a small child being born of her.
Ymir lost herself for a long time, watching all the ways her child could grow. She saw him become a scholar, a doctor. She saw her become a barmaid, and a soldier. Saw her son find love, and her daughter murder the masses. By the time she came back to herself, Ymir had lost control of what was happening.
She had been the first, a slave who had been tortured for being born, then she had been hunted for sport by her master's, as she had huddled dieing in the hollow of a tree trunk she had prayed to anything, anyone, listening to save her. In that moment she had been granted magic, the first living being able to change the very fabric of existence. After her master had found her again, alive with no wounds he had questioned her and tortured her again, until she had been saved by the king of the lands she lived on.
On seeing Ymir's magic the king had taken her as a mistress, a warrior, a tool. He had forced himself on her, and she had bared him three daughters, each with a fraction of her magic. The four of them were put to work, winning wars for the king, and furthering her own greed.
When she was twenty nine summers, her eldest daughter having her first maidens blood, the king killed Ymir. Her hate so great at watching the king force himself on her eldest daughter as she bled out on the floor caused her magic to explode out of her, it created the Paths. She had sentenced herself to a solitary life watching as her daughters and other slaves were further abused by those in power.
The first time she had heard a prayer had been from a child slave boy as he was raped by the kings advisor, in her rage Ymir granted the boy magic and watched pleased as the child killed the advisor. After the boy had gotten away he had shared the story of being granted magic by Ymir in his time of need. It wasn't often that the people prayed to her, and it was even less often that she would bless them, but eventually in her first hundred years of being in the Paths magic had spread to her people and they had started right back.
Now with the birth of her fourth and final child close, Ymir knew she had to make some decisions. She needed to either set her child on the world with all of her fury in their heart, or she needed to let go of her anger and hatred and finally leave the Paths in better hands.

Ever since he had arrived at his office to begin the preparation for the school year Nedzu had felt the hairs along his back stand on end, there was a current in the air that he was the only one who seemed to be able to feel. The feeling never followed him out of his office so he sat tense behind his desk, waiting, flexing his paws in anticipation for whatever was going to happen.
Nedzu can't stop the surprised squeak that he releases when there is a flash of brilliant white light that blinds him and the sound of shattering porcelain that is a thousand times louder than it should be.
“Time is all wibbly wobbly, but if you use enough force you can punch through the fabric of the universe. Code Feral Five.” A female voice gasps out hurriedly.
He tries to clear the spots from his vision and freezes in his chair at hearing the words, no one should know that code, it was a code that shouldn't even be possible.
“Code Alpha Omega Infinity?” He hears himself ask, still stunned.
“Omega Alpha Fatality Aim Ten.” The female answers him.
Nedzu is off his chair and taking hurried steps towards where he now sees a woman with gold eyes that have crosshairs instead of pupils, short white hair cut into a bob. She is cradling another person, they are strangely androgonys Nedzu notes, they have the same white hair and pale skin as the one who is conscious, he assumes that they are siblings.
“Nedzo-sensei.” The female says in relief.
“Ah, it’s actually Nedzu.” He corrects absently, still trying to gain his equilibrium.
“Right, right.” The woman mutters. “Dimension travel, you would think I would remember that, I built the damn machine. Well that and your fur is a different color.”
“Excuse me, but you know an alternate me, but I have never met you.” Nedzu interrupts.
“I was Hatsume Mei, this was Midoriya Izuku. We obviously can’t be them anymore, but Izu needs your medical attention.” The conscious female answered.
“Why mine?” Nedzu asked cautiously, there were only a paw full of people who knew he had medical experience.
“Your counterpart, he altered us.” She answered. “We were waking Izu up from their last session when the bunker was breached. It was the first time we had turned on the machine, it short circuited the camouflage and the defenses. Nedzo-sensei pushed Izu into my arms and pushed us through. It was too late for Eri, she was…the only reason the machine still worked was because it needed her DNA, not for her to be alive.”
Nedzu feels that his eyes are so wide they almost feel as if they would pop out of his sockets. Alternate him had altered at least two humans, he understands that he would be the last ditch effort in preventing the same thing from happening to even suggest dimension travel, and so for them to travel back they would need to be altered. He just didn't understand how anything could get so bad that he would willingly alter someone's DNA or genes.
The woman gave a nearly silent sob, it jolted Nedzu into moving closer to them now that he knew that they were unlikely to be enemies or out to harm him. He made his way towards the bookshelf that was on the left side of his office and pulled out a series of books. There was a click and the whurr of gears turning as the bookshelf moved away from the wall showing off another doorway.
“Follow me, we can get your companion stable, then we will get you new identities and speak more about what you need from me going forward.” Nedzu said as he scanned his paw on the pad to open the door.
Izuku’s head hurt, it wasn't a new feeling ever since he had first woken up in a bunker with Nedzo-sensei. The thing that worried him the most was he could only hear one heart monitor, and the air did not smell the same as it had for the last seven months. He held back the groan that wanted to escape him, he knew that he shouldn't give away that he was awake simply for the fact that he couldn't recognize where he was.
“Izu.” He heard Mei call.
Cracking his eyes open the minimal amount he needed to see Izuku finally did groan, he would know Mei’s eyes anywhere, and they were so close to him he was surprised that he couldn't feel her weight on him.
“Mei.” He croaked. “Morn’”
Mei doesn't answer him, just throws herself into his chest and hugs him around his shoulders and neck awkwardly. Izuku feels just a little more confused about what's going on but he lets his friend cry on his check as he drags his hand up and down her spine. He waits until she stops shuddering against him to try and get answers.
"What happened?" He asks, his voice cracking awkwardly.
"I finished the machine, we turned it on, everything went to shit.  Nedzo-sensei had just started your wake up procedures,  Eri was killed, we got shoved through the machine." Mei explains in broken clipped information.
"It worked?" Izuku finds himself asking dazedly.
"Un." Mei nods against his sternum. "Nedzo-sensei is now Nedzu-sensei, he has white fur not brown."
Izuku makes a surprised questioning noise in the back of his throat. He feels Mei give a snort of amusement against him.
"Nedzu-sensei got you stabilized but you're the one who knows the full plan, all I knew was the code word sequences." Mei says quietly.
Izuku frowns, he knows that they had all gone over the plan together at least once, but as he thinks about it he understands that Mei had been under a lot of pressure to get the time dimension travel machine working, it was highly likely that he didn't remember or even pay attention to what was being said.
"It's okay MeiMei, I can get everything rolling." He soothes her.
Izuku shifts his left hand from her back and into her hair, he cards his fingers through her hair gently knowing that it is something that grounds her a little.
He doesn't know how long they laid on whatever bed they were on, Mei had fallen asleep on top of him, not that Izuku minded much, his friend was a living weighted blanket keeping him grounded and his thoughts in order. The door to whatever room or secret lab they were in opens, the only reason he even notices is the rush of differently scented air that flows into the room.
"You're awake." A familiar voice states.
"Hello Nedzu-sensei, I believe we have a few things to speak about." Izuku replies.
The quiet tap of shoes and then silence is the reply he gets until he feels a slight dip in the mattress beside him. Izuku turns his head and looks at the alternate version of his once sensei and takes a moment to take in the differences.
"Where do you want me to start?" Izuku asks the chimera.
"At the beginning of course." Nedzu-sensei answers with a guarded grin.
Izuku sighs softly.
"My name was Midoriya Izuku, I was born July fifteenth, to Midoriya Hisashi and Midoriya Inko." Izuku starts at the beginning, he knows it's not what Nedzu-sensei meant but it's important. "Midoriya Hisashi goes, or went, by many different names and titles, Sensei, All-for-one, the symbol of evil, Shigaraki Hisashi, dad, husband. Inko was simply a secretary for a lawyer's office."
Izuku takes a deep breath and holds it for a few seconds before letting it out in a rush before he continues. "After I was diagnosed quirkless Hisashi left, what I didn't know at the time was he got into a battle with All Might when I was five and was injured badly. All Might thought he had killed him, but ultimately he had failed. Life growing up was hard, but that's not important, it's something that we will touch on later."
"At fifteen I was given One-for-All, nearly killing myself with it because of how badly I was trained and how little information All Might actually knew about the quirk. I got into UA, and the attacks started. The league of villains, backed by All-for-one, started trying to kill All Might, they failed the first few times, but they had so many plans and back up plans that eventually they succeeded." Izuku paused for a moment to check on Nedzu-sensei and see how he was following along.
"The league had bioengineered monsters called Nomu, they were made from people on the brink of death, altered and then given multiple semi compatible quirks. What we didn't know was All-for-one was working with doctor Garaki Kyudai." Izuku sees Nedzu-sensei flinch at the name, but he keeps speaking. "He found a way to give All-for-one's apprentice All-for-one without the original being transferred. The apprentice, Shigaraki Tomura, original name Shimura Tenko, only had one goal and that was to turn the world into dust. Between doctor Garaki and All-for-one they had an army of Nomu that they released on the world. It was chaos."
"Do you know where the doctor could currently be?" Nedzu-sensei asked with a snarl.
"Maybe, depending on the year." Mei cut into the rather one sided conversation.
"Alright, please continue." Nedzu-sensei ordered with a sharp nod.
"The population all hid in bunkers, most heros stayed above ground and fought back. I was badly injured and brought to your counterpart, he got me stable and we started to plan and go through scenarios. A year or so ago Mei showed up, Nedzo-sensei had already started to alter me, we were trying to not only separate One-for-all from me, but return my original quirk that All-for-one had taken. The three of us then worked on a machine to punch through the fabric of reality, and made it so Eri's rewinding quirk would send us back in time."
Silence fell over them, Izuku shifted under Mei who was still laying on him in mild discomfort. He knew he hadn't really explained anything, but he didn't want to.
"I know it's not the information you wanted, but if you take the USB from my thigh it has Nedzo-sensei's electronic journal as well as most parts of the plan, a few personal things for Mei and myself aren't there." Izuku informed the chimera.
"Local anesthetic or knock you out?" Nedzu-sensei asked with manic cheer.
Izuku raised an eyebrow at the question and the cheery tone. "Nothing, just go for it." He answered.
Nedzu-sensei gave him a hesitant look before he plucked a scalpel off of the try Izuku hadn't noticed resting beside him, the blade was pressed into his leg slowly. Nedzu-sensei kept looking up at his face as he gently but firmly cut into the tissue of his leg. Not bothering to wait for the chimera to pull on gloves or grab a pair of tweezers, Izuku sticks his fingers into the cut and digs around until his fingers brush against the plastic. He pulls it from his skin and holds the blood covered USB drive out to the chimera.
“Everything Nedzo-sensei agreed you should know is on there. I know a little of what's there, but I would prefer if you only brought us in on things as they come, we need to get acclimated to living again.” Izuku says sternly, he really has no want to deal with more than he needs to get in personally.
“Nedzo-sensei made note of when we would be needed.” Mei affirms what Izuku had suspected.
Nedzu-sensei gives a small nod then he jumps off of the medical cot and walks away, he pauses at the door and turns to them.
“I will look this over, once you are better rested we can set up identities and get you on your feet.” Nedzu-sensei. tells them softly before he disappears through the door.

Hatsume Mei had been surprised when the ceiling of the bunker she had found refuge in gave a groan and then collapsed inward.
Surprised but not unprepared.
This particular bunker had been sealed for four years, the residents all hand-picked and transported there, a grand total of six people. Awase Yosetsu, Kenranzaki Bibimi, Fuwa Mawata, Maijima Higari, Yaoyorouzu Momo, and herself.
In the beginning she had thought it was awesome, all she had to do was fix support weapons and items as they came from some sort of drop off tube on the surface, build replica items so the heros were never without support, and try to invent new and better items.
Two years into being sealed into the bunker, she had started to lose hope, the support items coming in were no longer a large variation, now she only ever fixed the same twenty items. The lack of items needing to be fixed had led to them having a large quantity of weapons stocked, the worst was when ten million’s gloves and mask had stopped coming.
So when the ceiling caved in her first reaction was to dive for her babies and outfit herself with as much fire power and defensive items as she could. The light burned her eyes and her skin felt like it was on fire, but she didn't allow herself the time to react.
Maijima, Power Loader, was standing between her and the Nomu. Yaoyorouzu was limp on the creature's claws, Fuwa and Awase were nowhere to be seen but the spreading puddle of blood suggested that they were under the rubble, Kenranzaki was behind the Nomu with her legs pinned.
"Hatsume, leave." Maijima barked.
"But, sensei." Mei answered, her tone deviated.
"Use that locator you built and find another bunker, you're the only one who is mobile." Maijima told her.
Mei felt tears slide down her cheeks as she saw what he was talking about, he was injured as well. A large set of claw marks were gouged out of his side, his large hand the only thing stopping his innards from falling to the floor.
She gave a scream of rage and devastation before clicking the heels of her hover boots together and shooting into the air through the hole in the ceiling. She hovered for a second, looking down at her sensei and the monster before she closed her eyes and flew in a random direction.
Mei didn't allow herself to fly with her eyes closed for more than a few minutes. She needed to be able to look for threats and find shelter like her sensei had told her to. The detection device she had built gave a loud screech as she flew over what had once been the forest behind U.A. Taking a steadying breath she angled herself to land, just as her feet hit the dead brown grass it gave way under her feet.
With a scream, Mei fell, unable to righten herself, she clenched her eyes closed and prepared for a hard landing. Only to let out a surprised sound when she hit some sort of cushion.
"Hatsume Mei, why are you no longer in the support bunker?" A voice called from in the shadows.
"Nomu, everyone else is dead." She answered hollowly.
Fluorescent lights sputtered on and Mei found herself looking at Principal Nedzo. He looked less put together than she had ever seen him, he no longer wore shoes and his eyes held a small spark of insanity.
"I see, welcome to my bunker, I believe with you here plan Z-six can be implemented." Nedzo said chipperly, with a too wide smile on his muzzle.
"Follow me." He ordered and turned away from her.
Mei rolled from where she had landed and followed Nedzo as quickly as she could. The sound of her boots loud in the otherwise silent bunker. The room they arrived at, once Mei stepped through the door, was a mix between an experiment lab and a hospital room. Mei had to choke back a scream at the sight of three people on the beds, thankfully one was completely isolated from the others. The one that was isolated was very dead, one alive who looked tired, and the last alive but hooked up to so many tubes and wires she could only assume that they were being kept on the edge of death. Two of them had stark snowy white hair, the one that was obviously dead was bald, but they had no eyes either, only scar tissue puckered skin.
"Nedzo-sensei…what?" Mei asked softly.
"At the start of all of this, I kidnapped Midoriya Hisashi, also known as Sensei, or All-for-one. I brought him here to try and figure out how to stop Shigaraki, sadly he passed away recently. Aizawa left Eri here for her safety, I have done all I could to keep her well, and Midoriya Izuku was delivered to me by Bakugou Katsuki near death." Nedzo answered. "We have no hope of winning against Shigaraki and his Nomu. I have run every possible option, and every single one of them fails. Plan Z-six needed more brain power and innovative skills than I possess."
Mei took a deep breath and let it out slowly before asking. "What is plan Z-six?"
Nedzo turned to her with gleaming eyes, the insanity growing.
"Time and dimension travel!" He answered.
Mei felt her knees connect with the ground as they gave out with her shock. The chimera had to be joking, this was something that wasn't even whispered about, this was insane. She took another look at Nedzo, this time she noticed that the insanity wasn't as dark as she had feared, but more desperate than she was really comfortable with.
"How?" She croaked.
"Ah, we plan then build." He answered as he clapped his paws together. "Eri already consented to using her quirk for the time travel part, before being put into a coma Midoriya Izuku had agreed to being…altered, so that's already been done…mostly. You will need to be altered as well, but we will do that after the machine is built."
Mei blinked slowly, hope sparking in her chest. She was the best support hero in the last fifty years, she had graduated top of her class breaking every record for her course, she had been the most sought after for her support items. She could, and would build something that could rip through reality to get to another universe.
"Let's do this!" She shouted and jumped to her feet.

Mo Lai had a difficult life, she had been born to a rich master and a servant to his house in an affair, her mother had died during her birth and her father had left her with the other servants to raise, she was treated like the second lady of the house or as a servant depending on her father's mood.
Then she had caught the eye of the Jin sect leader, and he had rushed into her life like a warrior come to save her from all hardships, and he had for a short time.
Then he had left, without giving her a proper farewell. Her father had called her ruined goods and had banished her to a shack on the border of his lands, then she had found out she was with child and sent a letter to Jin Guangshan to tell him of the news.
He never replied, and now her bastard son was six years old and Mo Lai was heartbroken from the betrayal of what she had believed was a righteous man. She had only been given two things from her affair with Jin Guangshan, her son, and miraculously enough a golden core.
She had been at her half sister's mercy for five years after the mysterious death of their father, and now it seemed to be her turn.
Mo Daiyu, the mistress of Mo village, was kneeling over her with her hands wrapped around her throat cutting off her air supply, Mo Lai had been starved for many years always giving as much of the little food they were given to her son in hopes that he would grow strong and prove himself to the world and pull her out of disgrace.
She was far to weak from starvation to fight against Mo Daiyu's strength, but then she remembered a spell she had seen in one of Jin Guangshan's books she had seen, what she had been able to understand from her very limited schooling was that it would give your body to a soul that you called on in return for your soul being shattered, and a favor.
She twisted her fingers into the complicated signs that had been sketched in the book and pulled on every crumb of resentment she felt for the world around her, and called on the only spurt she believed would understand her hate of being family to someone when useful then hated the next second for being the child of a servant.
"Wei Wuxain." She breathed, using the last of her air to send her plea past the veil. 'Save my son.' She demands from the pit of her soul as she dies.
-------
Wei Ying woke to the feeling of a small hand on his arm and the call of a child's voice. "Mama, wake up."
Wei Ying groaned he didn't want to wake up, his throat hurt and he feels like he hasn't slept in years.
"Mama, up. Mama told A-Yu that A-Yu needs a bath today." The child said again.
Wei Ying cracked his eyes open and took a look around, he was in an unfamiliar room. And when he looked towards where the child's voice was he didn't recognize who it could be.
"Ahhh, A-Yu?" Wei Ying said, his throat hurt even worse and his voice was oddly feminine even with how scratchy it was.
The child who looks oddly like he did nods, his large round eyes fixed on Wei Ying's face, searching for something that Wei Ying couldn't understand.
"What is mama's name?" He forces past the pain.
"A-Yu's mama is Mo Lai. But you aren't mama, who are you?" The child says firmly, Wei Ying is surprised that the child knows that he is not his mother.
"Ah, I was Wei Wuxain." Wei Ying answers, he sits up and looks down at himself to assess the state of his body and his mind stalls.
"Mama?" A-Yu breaks him from the blank state of his mind.
"Oh Hua Cheng!" Wei Ying yelps. "I was a man, I was born a man, I died a man, why am I a woman?"
He scrambles from the bed in a rush to get to the bowl of water across the room, the reflection that stares back at him is that of a very pretty woman, all long black silky hair and round gray eyes. She has many of his features just softened into a delicate female form. Then he notices the hand shaped bruises wrapped around his -her- throat and everything snaps into place.
"A-Yu, I am your new mama, go pack your things. We are leaving, I promise I will explain everything later." Wei Ying tells the small boy, he -she- needs to get them away from Mo Lai's murder.
A-Yu bolts out of the room with a skip in his step, whoever killed Mo Lai must abuse A-Yu as well. With a sigh Wei Ying starts pulling open trunks and throwing all the robes on the bed along with anything of value. When she finds a trunk that holds small bags and delicate jewelry she quickly pulls all the bags out, and drops to sit on the floor to make them into Qiankun bags for easier travel.
One of the bags when it was turned over has a small pearl button fall out of it, Wei Ying stares at it in disgust, he now knows who the father of A-Yu is, and now the monster of a man will not get his hands on a brilliant child.
The bags are finished quickly, and Wei Ying starts to fill them quickly, she leaves four of them on the floor for A-Yu to fill when he returns.
"Mama, I have my trunk." A-Yu calls from the door.
"Ah, good. Put everything from the trunk into those bags." Wei Ying tells the boy and points to the four Qiankun bags on the floor still.
She is quick to finish shoving the last of the jewelry into a bag when she catches sight of a large satchel that hangs by the door of the room, you can't put a Qiankun bag into a Qiankun bag. She had originally thought that she would have to tie them all onto her belt but was happy to see that she could just put them into an ordinary bag.
Wei Ying had left out a set of light gray set of three layered robes that were of a coarser weave than all the others to put on over her under robe that Mo Lai had died in, she wasn't ready to look at her naked body even if she was already calling herself female in her mind. Quickly pulling on the robes, Wei Ying looks at the progress A-Yu has made.
"Ah, good. Let's go then." She says when she sees that the trunk A-Yu had pulled into the room is empty.
"Mama, should we go to the treasury?" A-Yu asks, it's an innocent question but it makes Wei Ying smirk.
"Lead the way." She says with a dark chuckle as she drops the two Qiankun bags full of A-Yu's things and keeps the empty two in her free hand.
----
Wei Ying had been on the road with her new son for two weeks when she ran into the first cultivator, it was a Nei cultivator that was hunting the same fierce ghost that she was.
"Ah!" Wei Ying screamed in fright at the giant man who had swung his saber at the ghost just as Wei Ying had finished playing Rest on the dizi she had bought at the first village they had stopped in out of Mo village.
The Nei gave a shout of shock as well as he unbalanced himself enough to fall on his back and miss cutting off Wei Ying's head.
"Master Nei!" She yelps in worry as his saber cuts a clean line into his thigh from his fall and the momentum of his swing combined.
Wei Ying drops to her knees beside him and pulls out the medical herbs she had been collecting on her travels, she had been forced to use empathy with Wen Quin so they could work together to improve healing arts so now she had all the knowledge that her adopted sister had. She is fast to rip open the pants and robe the man wears to get a better look at the cut before she starts to pack in the cut with the herbs as she crushes them and feeds small amounts of her qi into the cut.
"Be more aware." She snaps at the man, channeling her inner Quin-jie.
"Y-yes mistress." The Nei stutters, Wei Ying huffs, who knew being a fierce female turned men into scared children.
Wei Ying ties a strip of clean bandage around the wound and slaps the man's shoulder before she stands and brushes off the grass from her robes.
"Ah, this one owes the mistress a debt, if the mistress would be willing to come to the unclean realm for a reward." The Nei says, looking a little dazed.
"We will pick up my son first." Wei Ying demands as an agreement, and spins on her toes letting her robes flare around herself dramatically to head back to the inn she had left A-Yu in.
The trip to the unclean realm is much shorter than Wei Ying had thought it would be, she is thankful though, A-Yu needs some food, a bath, and most importantly some sleep.
The Nei cultivator knocks on a door and opens it after a rough grunt is given to grant enterince. Wei Ying pauses as she hears the guqin being played, most of the song sounded like Cleansing but the last three bars are different and give a sense of disquiet.
"Sect leader Nei, I have returned. The night hunt was finished before I had arrived, I had almost lopped off this woman's head because I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I was injured by my own carelessness and she treated the wound. I would like to offer her and her son sanctuary for a short time so they do not need to pay for lodging." The cultivator says as he bows to Nei Mingjue.
"Do as you wish, leave them here to speak. Jin Guangyao leave." He barks at his subordinate and the golden robed man playing the song that had Wei Ying's Qi screaming.
Wei Ying bows deeply to the Nei sect leader, she had admired the man before he had turned against Wei Ying believing the Jin without any proof.
"Sect leader Nei, this one is Mo Ying, I am a wandering cultivator. I travel with my son Mo Xuanyu. This one thanks you for offering lodging to us and promises we will be gone in a few days." Wei Ying says to the frowning Nei Mingjue.
"Nei Mingjue. You are welcome to stay as long as you need for treating my cousin after he foolishly injured himself." The sect leader growls.
"Thank you sect leader. If I may ask?" Wei Ying bites her lip a little in fear that her question is going to cause problems.
Nei Mingjue waves his hand in acceptance.
"Why was the Jin cultivator playing a song of turmoil?" She asks slowly, speaking carefully to not make the sect leader fly into a rage and qi deviate.
"That son of a whore!" Nei Mingjue thunders as his face turns purple in his anger.
Wei Ying pulls his bamboo dizi from the belt of his robe and quickly starts to play Cleansing properly with more qi than is necessary put into the notes. Nei Mingjue's face turns back into a safe color as he is but with the calming effects of the song played properly.
"Oh." The sect leader says in wonder as the music washes over him. "Can you play for me until I have contacted the Lan? And then play the song you heard the bastard play for them?" He asks as his shoulders slump a little from the song.
Wei Ying nods as she keeps playing, she's pulled back on the amount of qi that she is putting into the notes so she can go a little longer. She had been lucky that Mo Lai had a golden core that was fairly good sized, nowhere what hers had been before she had given it to Jiang Cheng but she had found out she was only twenty having given birth to A-Yu at the age of fourteen.
----
It took a week of waiting before both Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji arrived.
Wei Ying had been playing Cleansing in Nei Mingjue's office with Nei Huaisang and her A-Yu sitting on the other side of the office soaking in the calm that the song provided when the two Lan's had entered the office.
"Xichen, Wangji, sit." Nei Mingjue demanded in his usual way.
"Dage, you sent a missive saying that something had happened and I was needed urgently?" The elder Lan asked.
"Yes. The woman playing is Mo Ying, the boy is her son Mo Xuanyu. They saved my cousin from his own stupidity a week ago." The Nei sect leader introduced them.
"When Mo Ying arrived Meng Yao was playing for me, but then she asked why he was playing a song of turmoil. Then she started playing this song that actually made me feel much better. In a moment both myself and the other two will leave so she can play the song that Meng Yao was playing, I want answers." He spoke louder than he had all week, he was angry but not constantly on the edge of blind rage.
Both Lan looked like they had been slapped by a dead fish, their eyes wide and lips parted in shock.
Nei Mingjue stood and gestured for his brother and Wei Ying's son to follow him from the room, once the door was closed Wei Ying stopped playing and looked the twin Jade's dead in the eye.
"I may have only met sect leader Nei, but if you taught this song to the man who played it I will not allow you to leave." She drew a talisman in the air and three it at the door to lock the two men in with her, then she drew two more and push them at the brothers.
"You are locked in this room with me, you are also bound to your chairs with a talisman that forces you to only speak the truth." She told them with her face a mask of cold indifference.
Bringing her Dizi up to her lips again, Wei Ying played the song she had heard on her arrival. Both Lan's looked disterbed that she was playing this specific song.
"Stop, please stop." Lan Xichen called, Wei Ying did as he asked and stopped playing.
"Who taught the Jin cultivator to play the guqin?" She asked sharply.
"I did." Lan Xichen answered.
"What did you teach him?" Wei Ying asked again, her voice sharper than before.
"Cleansing." Lan Xichen answered, his face was ashen.
"How could he have learned the songs of turmoil if you did not teach him?" Wei Ying asked, this was important, someone was trying to kill a sect leader.
"I gave him access to the forbidden texts." Lan Xichen whispered.
"Were either you in on his plan to slowly assistante sect leader Nei?" This question was asked with more anger behind it.
"No." Lan Wangji answers simply.
"I would never, I love Mingjue!" Lan Xichen screams, then he pales at what he had admitted.
"Good." Wei Ying chirps and cancels the energy she had put into the talismans she had drawn.
She stands and gives the two brothers a shallow bowl, then opens the door before taking her seat again. This time A-Yu sits in her lap and she hugs him close.
"The Lan are at fault for the Jin knowing the song, but they were not the ones to teach it." Wei Ying says simply, leaving it to Lan Xichen to explain.
"A-Yao…" he chokes out and stops, then takes a deep breath and starts again. "Jin Guangyao asked me to teach him Cleansing so he could help dage, I saw no harm in teaching him, I taught him the correct song. That is not how the Lan are at fault."
Lan Xichen takes a stuttering breath. "I gave him a jade token that gave him access to everything the sect leader could access. He learned the song from our forbidden texts, that is how the Lan, specifically me, are at fault."
Lan Xichen drops to his knees, at this point he is sobbing and pressing his forehead into the floor kowtowing and apologizing.
"Get up Xichen." Nei Mingjue says calmly.
They have to wait for the Lan sect leader to calm himself and sit back in his chair.
"This one has a question that is bugging her." Wei Ying says and then waits for acknowledgement.
"Speak." Nei Mingjue grunts.
"Ah, if this is the actions of the Jin, what else have they lied about?" She pauses for a moment then pushes on. "Wei Wuxain for example, did anyone actually investigate his 'army' or did you simply trust the word of someone else?"
"Wei Ying had no army." Lan Wangji snapped at her with a glare.
"I am not saying he did." She snapped back with the same amount of venom in her voice. "I am asking who actually saw the Wen living on that mountain?"
"I did, all elderly, one child, only Wen Quin had a core, and Wen Ning had his consciousness." Lan Wangji told her, not that she needed to be told. "Told brother, told uncle, they believed Jin Guangyao."
Lan Xichen flinched next to Lan Wangji, his eyes were downcast and he looked like his entire world was crumbling around him.
"Wangji." He says, then he stops himself after he makes eye contact with his brother.
"No, they killed my zhiji. You had me whipped thirty-three times. You almost gave A-Yuan to the Jin. You didn't believe me." Lan Wangji is yelling by the end of his sentence, he stands and walks out of Nei Mingjue's office radiating cold fury.
"Ah, well that's our que." Wei Ying says as she stands holding a sleeping A-Yu in her arms and making pointed eye contact with Nei Huaisang.
The small group of three exit the office quietly leaving the sworn brothers to fix their own mess.
----
Wei Ying knew she was too curious for her own good. After she had left A-Yu in the room that had been provided for them she went looking for the younger Lan.
"Second master Lan." She called when she finally spotted him in the garden.
The only reaction to her call was the fist held behind his back tightening. Wei Ying did as she usually would have and ignored the signs of his anger.
"I wish to ask you about A-Yuan, who is that?" She asks, she's pretty sure it's her little radish but wanted confirmation.
"A-Yuan is my son." He tells her in a bland voice.
"You saved him?" Wei Ying whispers.
Lan Wangji's head snaps to look at her, his golden eyes are cold but he scans her face. He must have seen something in her expression or eyes, his own flashed in surprise and bewilderment.
"Wei Ying." He says and the hand that was holding the hilt of his sword cupped the side of her face.
"Lan Zhan." She whispered back, and nuzzled into the palm of his hand.
"Come back to Gusu with me." He demands.
"Yes."

Izumi is sleeping soundly when the emergency ringtone she set for Rei starts going off.
She's literally jumping out of her bed as she hits the answer button, wide awake and ready for anything.
"Rei!" She exclaims, worried as all hell as she throws a hoodie over her shoulders.
"Please...park...Touya…" Is all Izumi can make out, she's pulling on her slipper boots when the call is cut off as soon as she opens her door after getting them both on.
"Shit, shit, shit." She swears as she throws open Nezu's door.
"Dad! Rei called, call Tsukauchi and Recovery girl!" She shouts at him before she's slamming the door behind her and bolting out of the house as quickly as she can.
She runs full sprint to the park. Izumi sees Rei holding Touya who is bleeding from multiple cuts. Natsuo and Fuyumi are clinging to her skirt, and Shoto is in a baby carrier on her back, all of them shivering in the cold from the lack of proper clothes for the cold.
Izumi runs to them, she pulls Touya into her own arms before she crouches in front of the two kids holding onto Rei.
"Get on kiddos, we are gonna be moving fast." She tells them calmly, she feels four arms wrap around her throat and four legs around her waist, standing carefully to adjust to the weight.
"Follow close Rei, we aren't far away." Izumi says over her shoulder as she starts to move as a fast jog, Rei keeps up well but Izumi can tell she's running on fumes.
The door is unlocked as Izumi crashes into the house, she doesn't bother kicking off her shoes she just bolts to the dining room to lay Touya on the table, she heads back to the living room and crouches by the couch where Rei is sitting clutching Shouto closely.
"Off we go kiddos, go sit with your mom. I'll take care of Touya until Recovery girl gets here." She's gentle but firm when she talks to them, she knows better than to sound panicked, it takes a lot of effort to stay calm.
On her way back to the dining room she grabs the first aid kit from the small closet, she's already opening it as she puts it next to Touya's head on the table.
"Sorry Touya, this will probably hurt." She whispers to the unconscious boy.
First she pulled out scissors and cut away his shirt and pants. She's angry, so, so angry at the wounds on the child she wants to go and beat up Endeavour right now.
"Tsukauchi-san and Chiyo-san are on their way, Tsukauchi's E.T.A is five minutes, Chiyo's is half an hour." Nezu tells her from the entryway.
"Awesome, I can get the surface wounds stitched and splint any broken bones, she will just need to check the rest." Izumi says as she's pouring rubbing alcohol over her hands and into one of the collapsible bowls from the kit, she won't use it again unless it's to wash her hands the same way a second time.
She's snapping on her gloves before she pauses. "Can you call the gang over? Rei is gonna be busy with Tsukauchi and I can't watch all the kids if I'm in here with Touya. You also know where the USB is for evidence, I've been updating it daily." She asks and then explains and directs, she feels the pinch between her eyebrows as she concentrates on too many things.
Nezu nods at her and heads back to the living room leaving her alone to work on the injured boy, Izumi is thankful that she can leave everything else to him now and focus on helping Touya.
The doorbell rings as Izumi is halfway through wiping down Touya's body to see the wounds better, the cuts are bleeding heavily and it's worrying her about the amount of blood being lost. She ignores it and finishes what she's doing, she ignores whoever just walked into the room trying to talk to her as she resets Touya's ankle and then wrist.
He wakes and screams loudly when the snap of his wrist bone going back into place echoes along with it.
Izumi has to push him back down on the table. Her hands are firm but her voice is gentle, suddenly there are another pair of gloved hands pressing on Touya's shoulders.
"Hey Touya, it's Izumi, I don't know if you remember me from the park but we played tag together." She says as she wraps the wrist tightly, even though he's fallen unconscious again at the pain, she needs to talk right now just to filter some thoughts.
"I'm sorry I hurt you but I had to put your bone in the right place." She explains. "I'm also really sorry that it's gonna hurt when I stitch these cuts closed, I will put numbing cream on them, but sometimes it isn't enough. A few of them I could glue together but I never trusted the glue to hold personally, I used to have to stitch myself up a lot so I got pretty good at it, really I should get my first aid certification."
Izumi notes she will have to wipe each cut again before she uses the cream and starts stitching. She feels terrible that she has to hurt Touya to help him.
She starts with first turning Touya over to get at the worst cut that goes diagonally across his back, from left shoulder blade to deeply into his right buttock, it's the longest and deepest, any deeper would have nicked his spine.
"Shit." Izumi hears Oboro swear from where the other hands are helping her.
"Put a doughnut shaped cloud under his face." She demands quickly now that she knows her helper can make Touya more comfortable.
She loses herself in the motions. Clean, cream, stitch, clean, cream, stitch, as she moves from cut to cut. She can feel herself humming and trying to comfort herself and Touya who is still unconscious.
Oboro at one point was ordered to go get the other two first aid kits, Izumi had almost run out of thread and she felt her needle becoming blunt making it that much harder and no doubt more painful to use.
She's working on the last cut that is a deep split through the corner of Touya's bottom lip when she's broken from her trance by something hitting her lightly on the thigh.
"Good work girl." Recovery girl says to her before she's pulling a chair over and hopping up on it.
"We will have to expand further on this talent." The woman says again as she examines the stitches and splints critically before nodding in approval.
Izumi just nods herself and backs away from the table with a heavy sigh, she's tired and her neck and shoulders hurt from being bent over and the constant repeated motions.
"I scanned him with a portable device that allows me to check bones and inner tissue as you worked." Recovery girl tells her and turns the machine to show Izumi. "Tell me what you see."
"Bruised ribs, bruised lower intestine, broken left wrist and right ankle, broken nose, concussion, multiple contusions." Izumi list's blankly. "I don't know how to set a nose." She also admits woodenly, she hadn't noticed that it was broken.
"Come here." Recovery girl directs, her voice is a lot sharper than Izumi was used to.
Once Izumi is close enough Recovery girl grabs her hands and frames Touya's nose with her fingers, then simply uses her hands over Izumi's own to jolt the cartilage back into place.
"Like that." Recovery girl says simply. Izumi feels a little sick at how the woman just...seems to be fine with a child laying on a table covered in stitches with broken bones.
Recovery girl's lips then stretch and she plants a kiss on Touya's head and right ankle. "All I can really do is clear up the concussion and heal the broken ankle." She admits, this time Izumi can hear the sorrow and it loosens the tight feeling in her chest.
"Go clean yourself up girl, the others need to know the boy's status, and you can't tell them covered in his blood. Shirakumo too, he can make a screen so they won't see you."
Izumi feels like she has been wrung out, she is numb but present. She and Oboro walk behind a wall of clouds up the stairs, he uses the bathroom first to clean his arms of the small amount of blood on them, he leaves his hoodie in the bathroom as well because of the blood from where he had to lean across the table, thankfully his shirt is clean and he doesn't have to borrow one of hers.
Izumi gets into the shower fully clothed, she just stands there under the spray lost in her anger and sadness.
She collapses on her knees and cries, roughly ripping her clothes off her body and throwing them at the wall of the shower. She wanted to scream but knew that it would be heard so she just choked on her sobs behind her hands, she hadn't been able to protect them, she failed and now a seven year old boy was paying for her mistake.
Izumi made herself calm down, she forced it all into a box to deal with later, she knew once she had spoken to Tsukauchi she could break down trusting the others to comfort Rei and her children, Izumi couldn't, she knew she couldn't.
Struggling back to her feet, Izumi was happy that her hair was in tight twin braided buns and that she had kept her hair from being under the spray of the water. She started to scrub her skin. It wasn't the first time she had been covered in blood, just the first time it wasn't her own, she sobbed a little, but held on to her emotions as best she could.
Once she was dressed and back downstairs Tsukauchi stops her from getting closer to the others in the room.
"Nezu-san, could you please tell me of the events that happened tonight." Tsukauchi said after Izumi had agreed to speak with him in the kitchen.
"I was woken by my phone ringing, it was a special tone just for Rei-san. I didn't hear much of what she was saying but I did catch 'please, park, and Touya'. I knew they were in a bad way, abused people generally recognize each other. I woke dad and then ran to the park where we met them. I took Touya from Rei-san and had Natsuo and Fuyumi climb on my back. We ran here where I then set Touya's broken ankle and wrist before stitching up thirteen cuts of varying lengths and depths. Recovery girl then showed me a scan from some machine she had. Bruised ribs, bruised lower intestine, broken left wrist, right ankle, and nose, concussion, multiple contusions. Recovery girl then taught me how to set a broken nose." Izumi speaks clearly and carefully, she was being recorded and with Tsukauchi's quirk she had to be careful.
"Thank you Nezu-san." Tsukauchi stands and bows to her.
"Wait, please. You need to help them, he will kill them if this continues." Izumi begs, she can feel tears running down her cheeks again, she can't help herself, can't stop herself anymore. "Please."
Tsukauchi sighs and keeps walking. Izumi doesn't know how long she sits at the table crying before she feels a paw on her knee.
"Dad." Izumi cries harder, she pulls him into her lap and holds him as she cries into his shoulder.
He hums a soft tune for her and just lets her cry on him and hold him tightly as he pats the top of her head.
"Come now, the others need to be settled. Keigo has offered his bed for the children, and I have offered mine to Rei. I have also called the school to let them know that all six of us will not be present tomorrow." Nezu says as he wiggles in her hold, to get free.
She lets him go, and waits a little to stand and follow him, her tears have run dry, but she still feels hollowed out.

When Izumi wraps her arms around his bicep Hizashi is a little startled, he knows he's a cryer, and maybe he should have tried to keep it under control better.
"Please don't cry!" The little girl begs him which makes him cry harder thinking about a three year old trying to comfort him.
He hears Izumi take a deep breath, and then she's singing an unfamiliar song in English. The words are somewhere between heart breaking and resigned, Hizashi is so confused on how this little girl can get those feelings across.
By the time she's stopped singing Hizashi has stopped crying and he knows his face shows his wonder and confusion. He's pretty sure the others are looking at her the same but Hizashi can't drag his eyes off his daughter.
"That was very pretty." Tsukauchi says, his voice sounds a little choked up, he must not have heard Izumi sing before just then.
"You sing very well, Izumi-chan." Shōta speaks, Hizashi can tell his throat is tight with emotion.
"Mmmm." Izumi hums at them as her cheeks pink a little but doesn't seem to believe either of the men.
Hizashi struggles a little but he really wants to talk to this tiny human, he takes a large gulp of his cooling tea before asking softly. "Do you like music?"
Izumi's eyes are open now and looking right at him, close up he can see that she has darker green spirals in her iris, they are almost unnoticeable in like his own darker green rings around his pupil.
"Un, a nice grandma that lived by Inko taught me lots of old old English songs." Izumi tells him brightly. "They taste good, songs that have lots of feelings taste good."
Hizashi furrows his eyebrows, asking. "Taste good?" He looks at Shōta quickly before focusing back on Izumi.
"Uh huh, that song tastes salty but with a lot of slow spice. Like some words I say taste different." Izumi says, Hizashi doesn't understand but he wonders if it's her quirk showing early.
"I don't taste music." Hizashi tells Izumi as he arranges his expression into a pout. "If I sing do you still taste the words?"
Izumi shakes her head, her green hair bouncing with the force and pouting, and Hizashi can see himself in every line of her plush lips, almond eyes, and button nose. He also sees little bits of Shōta in her high cheekbones, wild hair, and defined jaw.
Sometime during the short conversation Izumi had let go of him and backed out of his personal space, Hizashi kind of just wanted to pull her back in and hold on.
They hold eye contact, Izumi doesn't seem to find his eyes weird like many other children and it relaxes Hizashi just a smidge.
"Why are you here if you don't want me?" Izumi asks, her voice is so even and unbothered Hizashi had to struggle not to start crying again. "Or are you here to take me to the orphanage?"
Shōta takes a deep breath at the first question, the second has him releasing it like he's been sucker punched in the guts.
"Children are a big responsibility." Shōta is trying to say something but Hizashi doesn't know what.
"Uh huh. But I take care of myself, I can get a job and everything, I just want a place to live, you don't have to be re-spon-sa-ble for me." Izumi cuts him off, shaking her head.
"I'm sure you are very responsible." Shōta says.
Hizashi is sure Shōta has a point even though he's going in circles.
"If you come live with us, your only job will to be a kid." Shōta tells her. "Do you know what our jobs are?" He then asks as an afterthought.
Izumi shakes her head, Hizashi isn't all that surprised.
"I'm an underground hero." Shōta tells her and nudges Hizashi a little.
"I'm the hero Present Mic, I also just started a radio podcast, hopefully soon a radio show." Hizashi says with a smile.
Izumi's eyes are wide, and then she goes on to quote in the closest her high soprano can. "Hey, listeners. It's Present Mic signing on."
"Yes, exactly." Hizashi says half dazed that Izumi listens to his show.
"Ah." Izumi gives a short sound of understanding. "That's why you don't want me, you're too busy." She says this like it's the answer to all life's questions as she nods slowly.
"No!" Hizashi yelps at the same time Shōta says it firmly.
"No." Shōta says again. "We just want you to understand our jobs are dangerous, and it's likely we will get hurt. That's not something you should see." He tries to explain.
"But, I have seen people hurt." Izumi starts her argument and Hizashi feels his stomach drop. "Hisashi used to bring men home, and Inko made me help fix them before I had to clean up the blood."
Hizashi feels like he's going to vomit.
"I can do stitches really good now." Izumi informs them.
"That's not what I mean, Izumi." Shōta says, Hizashi can tell Izumi is at the end of her patients.
"Then what do you mean, do you want me or not, stop trying to make me feel better, and just tell me!" Izumi finally breaks, instead of trying to be calm.
"Stop trying to give me something and take it away at the same time!" Tsukauchi is trying to unearth himself from cats and pillows to get to where Izumi is standing.
"YES OR NO!" She screams loud enough to almost rival Hizashi using his quirk before she turns and runs from the cafe leaving three stupified men behind.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Tsukauchi all but roars at Shōta. "This is why I didn't want you to meet her unless you were going to take her! You can't fucking use logic on a three year old!"
Tsukauchi takes a deep breath then calmly adds. "She's right, figure out your answer 'yes or no' you have the week, that's as long as I can give you. I have broken protocol to not put her in a foster home, I can't push it off much longer."
Hizashi sees the resignation in the detective's face, sees how attached the man had become to her, sees his anger at the two of them and he understands.
"Shouldn't you go after her?" Shōta asks, he sounds angry but Hizashi can't tell if it's at Tsukauchi or himself.
"No, Sansa has been parked outside the entire time, but I am leaving." Tsukauchi's words are clipped, then without offering a 'goodbye' he's striding out the door.
"Fuck." He hears Shōta swear but he's looking out the window to watch as the detective walks across the street.

Izumi is so excited to be going to the cat cafe, when Sansa-san had told her it was a place to get hot chocolate and spend time with kittens she had begged Tsukauchi-san to take her.
Now she was standing just outside of the building all but shivering in her excitement. Tsukauchi-san had told her to wear the pants that he had bought her, he said it was because cats were strange creatures and he didn't want one to doing something that could make her uncomfortable.
Izumi didn't really care to be honest, cats were soft and fluffy, she knew that they could be mean sometimes, but all living things were like that.
Tsukauchi-san sighed a little as he pulled open the door for her, she knew that particular sigh was only something he did when he felt he was 'soft'. Izumi didn't really understand, the only soft thing about Tsukauchi-san was his hair, and sometimes the sweaters he wore at home.
"Go find a seat Izumi-chan." He told her, and walked toward the counter to hopefully get the promised hot chocolate.
Izumi skipped her way over to a large pile of pillows, it looked like a nest that she could maybe shift around a little for maximum comfort.
Her shifting of the pillows to allow for support but still give the feeling of a nest didn't take long, but it did attract the attention of a big fluffy gray cat.
Once Izumi was settled comfortably the big cat climbed into her lap, he was almost the same size as she was.
"Hello kitty!" Izumi chirped quietly. "I'm Izumi."
With light fingers Izumi started to pet the top of the cat's head, it took her a little but she saw a baby blue collar hiding in all of the cats fur. With her free hand she gently turned it to look at the tag.
"Mor-phe-ous." She sounded out the name carefully, it wasn't a word she was familiar with, it made her fingers itch to know what it ment.
When Tsukauchi-san came over to where she was he had the men they had visited yesterday with him. Izumi wanted to be surprised but she knew from when he agreed that this was a set-up of some sort.
Not really bothered by it, Izumi asked the group of men. "What's a Mor-phe-ous?"
Tsukauchi-san looked a little confused when she met his eyes, she looked at the black haired man who the photos had said was her uncle. He looked just as confused, Izumi sighed at that and looked at the blond.
"Morpheous is the god of dreams." The blond answered her quietly, Izumi smiled at the man.
"Oh!" She exclaimed happy with the answer. Turning back to the cat in her lap she says. "You must bring good dreams then."
Tsukauchi-san is sighing again before he drops into the nest beside her, he's holding two plastic cups, one he passes to her.
Izumi sniffs the little opening where she thinks that what's inside will come out and gives a happy hum when she smells hot chocolate.
"Thank you Tsukauchi-san." She chirps before taking a careful sip.
"Can we sit Izumi-chan?" Her uncle asks her, she just nods at him.
He sighs and Izumi wonders why all the adults seem to do that so much.
"Hi, I'm Izumi." She says to them finally, remembering that she should be polite no matter how scared she is.
"Hi Izumi-chan, I'm Hizashi, and this is Shōta." The blond speaks, there is something about his voice that Izumi likes, it's soft and deep, there's something in it though that draws her attention.
"And I'm Tsukauchi." Izumi giggles lightly at the detective trying to make a joke.
With the adults finally sitting more cats come over to investigate their little group, Izumi is beyond happy when a pure white cat lays next to her in a loaf. Quick light fingers find their collar and look at the name.
It's another word she doesn't know, but she still carefully sounds it out. "Se-le-ne." She looks at Hizashi for an answer as to what it means.
"Selene is the goddess of the moon. Looks like the cats are trying to make you sleepy." He tells her, Izumi can't stop the giggle that wants to come out.
Shōta snorts and sighs into his own plastic cup, Izumi kind of wants them to just tell her why they are here, she needs to know what's going to happen to her. But she keeps quiet and pets the fluff that's taking up more of her lap than she has to give.
All of them are quiet, more cats joining them as they sit there. Izumi feels the awkwardness in the air but she's refusing to pay attention to it.
"So, Izumi-chan." Her uncle, Shōta-san starts talking. "I know I asked before if you knew who we were, but can you please tell us what you know?"
Izumi tilts her head to the side and looks at the man through her bangs.
"You are Inko's brother." She tells him simply, turning to face the blond. "You are my dad." Her words are blunt but Izumi believes that she needs to be.
The blond 'Hizashi' she reminds herself, jerks backwards a little and his lips start to wobble.
"Ah, yes." Shōta-san says slowly. "We didn't know about you."
"I know. Inko liked to tell people I was her cousin. She didn't want people asking questions." Izumi tells them. "It's okay if you want to forget about me, I know something is wrong with me."
Hizashi-san jerks backwards again, then he learchs forwards and grabs her hands.
"Nothing is wrong with you." Hizashi-san tells her, his eyes are wet as Izumi meets them. "If I had known I had a daughter I would have been there to take care of you, even though I was still in school when you were born." Tears are falling down Hizashi-san's cheeks.
"Oh." Is all Izumi can get out, Hizashi-san is still holding her hands, but she's lost on what to do.
Shōta-san clears his throat, catching Izumi's attention.
"It's not that we don't want you Izumi-chan, it's that we don't think we can be good guardians." He tells her, and Izumi is a little confused about how that matters.
"What?" She asks as she looks at Tsukauchi-san.
The detective seems to understand what she's asking, his lips are set in a hard line that Izumi has learnt means he's unhappy.
"How Inko and Hisashi treated you wasn't right. Yamada and Aizawa are scared because they are very young to take care of a little girl." Tsukauchi-san tells her, Izumi nods.
"But…" She begins to argue, then stops when she remembers what Sansa-san had told her about how parents are supposed to be. "Oh." She finishes lamely.
Shōta-san sighs, and it sounds a lot like the one Tsukauchi-san when he wants to do something but is scared of the outcome.
"I'm okay with your choice. I mean I don't know how a family is supposed to be, so it's not like I'll miss anything." She tries to soothe the adults, but it doesn't seem to be working as Hizashi-san starts to cry harder.
Izumi doesn't know what to do, but following some instinct she carefully slides out from under the cats and wraps her arms around Hizashi-san's arm that isn't pressed against Shōta-san.
"Please don't cry!" She begs the blond. It seems to make him cry harder so Izumi takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and sings an English song that one of the nice grandma's taught her.
"Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below."
On the mountain was a treasure,
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore,
They'd have it for their very own."
Izumi loved singing, this song the grandma had said was a prequirk protest song. Izumi didn't really understand, all she knew was that the words and melody tasted good on her tongue.
"Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend,
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end,
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away."
The verses of the song tasted sad and angry, it gave the same feeling of a slow burn spice, the kind that sneeks up on you after a few bites of food, but it stays with you even after the meal.
"So the people of the valley,
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill,
It came an answer from the mountain,
With our brothers we will share,
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."
The choras of the song always tasted like 'giving up' and 'its your own fault' did. It was a flavor Izumi liked but she hardly found anything with the same mixture as this song.
"Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend,
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end,
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away."
Coming to the last verse of the song Izumi finally notices the arm she's hugging has stopped shaking, but she doesn't care, she wants to finish her song.
"Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!",
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward,
Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red,
Turned the stone and looked beneath it,
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend,
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end,
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.
Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend,
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end,
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day,
On the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away."
She lets the last nite of her song fade, and cracks her eyes just enough to have the men's expressions.

Nemuri was pleasantly surprised when Izumi called her asking if they could meet at the cat cafe and talk, she was so used to other girls not liking her outgoing personality that Izumi was a breath of fresh air.
"Nemuri." Her name was called as she entered the cafe.
She spotted Izumi already seated with the giant cat that the green haired girl had fallen in love with.
"Izumi! It's a surprise for you to ask me out." Nemuri winked at the other girl, Izumi just grinned at her.
"Yeah, I know but I need some advice and who better than my only female friend." Nemuri laughed outwardly at Izumi but sighed in despair inwardly.
"So, what's the gossip?" Nemuri asked as she welcomed a feline into her own lap.
Izumi blushed a light pink, and she was looking at the table with almost laser-like focus.
"I like somebody, well actually two somebodies." Izumi mumbles so quietly that Nemuri almost misses it.
Her heart skips a beat, Nemuri is so excited to be getting love gossip. She needs to track down Hizashi next before she can start planning on how to get them together

"Ooooooooohh?" Nemuri drags the word out.
"Un, I uh, I didn't have the best childhood, and I'm really bad with emotion, and dealing with them, and I like Shō and Zashi, and I don't like it, I dunno what to do. I'm scared to mess up, what if they hate me, or just I don't know, I can't lose you four, you're my first friends, I've never had friends before, I never had a crush before, and my first is on two of my best friends." Izumi starts to ramble quickly and Nemuri feels bad she only cared about the gossip.
"Stop Izumi." Nemuri demands sharply. "Breathe."
Nemuri watches as Izumi starts to slow her breathing.
"Good, now I know for a fact that Shō would never hate you, pretty sure Hizashi wouldn't either." She points out in what she hopes is a serious tone.
"I don't think you have anything to worry about. Personally I think you should ask them out and just…kiss them or something. It would be pretty clear to them, and with the way that they both watch you I don't think there's gonna be a problem." Nemuri says even more confidently.
They sit together for an hour, trading stories about their internships and Nemuri tries and fails epically in talking fashion with Izumi, but she's happy when she waves goodbye to Izumi.
Nemuri waits until she's around the corner before she whips out her phone.
Nemuri: we need 2 talk
Hizashi: uh sure ʕ⨀ᴥ⨀ʔ
Short but sweet, and the poor soul has no idea what's about to happen.
When Hizashi finally opens the door Nemuri has to hold back a gasp at the split lip and black eye he sports, his hair isn't even styled like it usually was.
"Dear god, are you okay?" She asks as her hands flutter around his face.
Hizashi smiles with a wince. "Yeah, I just should have listened more to Mimi about not relying on my quirk." Hizashi tells her sheepishly.
"You should always listen to the farer sex." She teases him lightly.
"Come in, my mom's aren't home so we can talk in the living room." Hizashi steps away from the door to wait further down the enterince for her.
Once they are both seated on the couch Hizashi looks a lot more wry than he did before, Nemuri is pretty sure that it's because of the manic smile she can feel on her lips.
"So, have you figured out you're in love with Shōta too yet?" Nemuri is almost surprised at how predatory she sounds.
"Have you figured out you're in love with Oboro yet?" Hizashi sasses her back.
"Yep!" Nemuri chirps. "I plan on asking him on a date soon. Just waiting for the right time."
"Fine, yeah I talked with my mom and mama and they pointed out my feelings for Shō, but it's crazy to like them both. Chances of us all liking each other is like one in a million." Hizashi grumbles at her.
"That's what you think!" Nemuri all but shouts at him. "You are all so dumb!" She throws her hands in the air in complete exasperation.
"What?" Hizashi asks dumbly.
"I mean, Shō came barreling into my room after you went shopping with them and Keigo, to have a crisis about liking you both. And Izumi just called me for coffee, freaking out over her own crushes on you and Shōta." Nemuri tells him point blank and watches his face go through a rapid change in many emotions.
"It's also highly probable that the other two aren't gonna do anything about it, so you are the only hope!" She whines at him dramatically.
"Oh." Hizashi breathes as he just sits there.
Nemuri stays with him as he tries to process it, but she pulls out her phone and starts playing a matching game as she waits.

Izumi felt accomplished, she had been able to spar against every hero at the agency, and over half of them had been enthusiastic about having her use her quirk on them after she promised to leave their brain and hearts alone.
She had also worked her way into Eren and Ari's lives, she was armed with promises of more work studies offers for herself and Shōta, and the couple's cell phone numbers and promises to keep in touch between the tri-yearly inturning opportunities.
Izumi and Shōta had left midday Saturday so they would have that night and the next to try correcting their sleep schedules. The train ride home was quiet, Shōta falling asleep on Izumi's shoulder again. He had a deep purple bruise on his jaw, one of the other pros had spared with them the night before and had hit Shōta hard enough to knock him out, Izumi had been frantic until the dark haired male woke up again.
Brushing her fingers along Shōta's jaw she lost herself in thought.
"Next stop, Ultra station." The speaker blared, breaking Izumi out of her thoughts, her cheeks red and eyes wide.
"Shōta." She whispered and shook him a little, he didn't say anything as he got up and made his way to the door, and Izumi was thankful.
Once off the train Izumi forced herself to give him the brightest smile she could.  "See you on Monday Shō." She chirped before spinning on her heel and jogging away.
"Dad! Dad! We have a problem!" Izumi yelled as she burst into the house and ran to the living room.
"Izu-nee?" Keigo asks from where he's sitting on the floor working on something on the coffee table.
Izumi collapses into the floor and tries to suffocate herself with the carpet.
"Ugh! Rosefinch, growing up sucks. Don't grow up ever, you catch stupid things like feeling." Izumi says in utter despair.
Izumi hears Nezu's squeaking laugh and footsteps enter the room and whimpers.
"Daaaaaaaaaad!" She whines in protest.
"Sadly Izumi I can't help, try Kayama-chan or Mitsuki-san. I do not understand most human emotions, but what you are feeling is very much out of my knowledge." Nezu doesn't sound sad, he sounds gleeful like he's about to watch absolute chaos.
"But I just want them to go away!" Izumi whines again as she rolls over to pout up at the two males.
"Ah, but I need you to understand them so you can help Keigo when he's older." Nezu argues, and Izumi feels panic well up in her.
"No." She says and gets on her hands and knees to crawl over to Keigo, she sits behind him and wraps as much of herself around him that she can.
"Nope! My rosefinch isn't going to grow up ever." She pouts harder up at their dad.
"Yes." Nezu tells her again and Izumi saggs all her weight onto Keigo who actually squawks like a surprised bird.
"Fine." She groans.
"What's wrong with feelings? The commission said they were bad, and Izu-nee is making them sound bad too." Keigo asks from half under Izumi.
"Nothing!" Both Izumi and Nezu say firmly.
"Nothing, Izumi has a crush. From what I understand, she likes a person romantically." Nezu tries to explain, and Izumi is sure he is doing the best he can.
"Like dad said, I have a crush. It means that I want to date, hug, and kiss them." Izumi expands on Nezu's explanation. "When you're a little older you will understand, and probably will have it explained better by your teachers and peers."
"Then why don't you like it?" Keigo asks her, he sounds so confused and it kills Izumi a little inside.
"I had a bad childhood, not like yours, but people used to be really mean to me. I don't like complex emotions because I grew up with very few basic ones. It scares me cause I don't fully understand them." She explains in simple terms.
Keigo nods but still looks confused, Izumi figures he has accepted he needs to be older and have more experience with life.
"Go shower and get changed. We are to meet with the Bakugou's for our new clothes." Nezu tells her.
Izumi scrambles up the stairs, to follow his directions. She's as quick in the shower as possible for a girl with thick curly hair. Dressed in the only outfit she had been allowed to buy herself, a pair of bright pink skinny jeans and a black tank top with the kanji for tee-shirt on it, over her arm she's got a gray zip up hoodie that has bunny ears on its hood.
When Nezu sees her he just shakes his head and herds Keigo to the door, Izumi follows close behind pulling on her hoodie and shoes.
Izumi did not hesitate to ring the bell this time, she had given herself the evening after they had first met to mourn her auntie Mitsuki and uncle Masaru, she could now face Suki and Masaru.
"Suki!" Izumi jumped at the blonde woman. "I need female advice." She all but demands and drags Mitsuki away.
Izumi pauses long enough to greet Masaru and snatch Katsuki up in her arms before she takes the woman to her own kitchen.
"I have a crush." Izumi says in the most serious tone she can. "On my two best friends." She slumps into a chair at the table and snuggles Katsuki closer, he is awake this time and watching her.
"Oh." Mitsuki sounds halfway between surprised and thrilled. "When do I get to meet them?" It's not a question Izumi knows but a demand.
"Suuuuuuuuuuki!" Izumi wails quietly.
Mitsuki laughs as she starts the electric kettle and pulls out two mugs behind Izumi. "Oh come on, Zuzu. It's not every day your little sister comes to you about a crush."
The kettle clicks off and suddenly Izumi has hot chocolate in front of her.
"Fiiine, I don't know but I need help. It's two boys, they are two of my first four real ever friends Suki, I dunno what to do. And they are totally opposite of eachother." Izumi says as she wiggles her fingers at Katsuki.
"Why isn't Nezu helping you through this?" Mitsuki asks curious, but not judging.
"He's not human, he doesn't understand complex emotions, and with all the time in the hospital I don't really understand them either. So expect Keigo in a few years." Izumi tells the blonde seriously.
"Kay, but tell me about these boys and how I can help." Mitsuki prompts her.
"Well, Zashi is stupid tall. Like he's six and a half feet tall. He is really kind and happy, a bit of a dork. He has a lot of energy and is loud even without his quirk. He's really amazing with kids and isn't afraid of how smart I am." Izumi sighs and untangles a clump of her hair from Katsuki's grip.
"Then there is Shō. He is logical, and tired. He's been hurt a lot by people just like I have. He likes to put up this front that he doesn't care but he's so good and caring. He's even better with kids, Keigo took to him right away. He uses my strength to push himself both physically and mentally, but he's already so, so strong and smart." This time Izumi's sigh is longer and more frustrated.
"I realized that I liked them when I was on the train home from inturning and Shō had fallen asleep on me." Izumi blocks a baby fist from hitting her in the throat and laughs softly at the fact that Katsuki was a fighter before he could even walk.
"They sound like good kids, how do I help though?" Mitsuki says after Izumi falls quiet.
"What do I do?" Izumi asks softly, she's feeling very vulnerable.
"Whatever you want." Mitsuki answers, at Izumi's look of confusion and betrayal she keeps talking.
"Seriously brat. Tell them if you want, but tell them together. Don't tell them and see if the feelings fade. Personally I would tell them, it could give you the most amazing thing in the world, and the worst that can happen is they don't feel the same and you have a bit of a strained friendship for a while."
Izumi nods reluctantly, she will think about it, Mitsuki is probably right anyway. Maybe talking to Nemuri a little will give her some more insight.
Izumi sighs deeply again, before chugging her now cool hot chocolate. Katsuki is starting to fuss and Izumi hands him to Mitsuki. She leaves the mother and child alone and goes to find the males.

Izumi grinned at Shōta as they got on the train together. She was super excited to start her work studies.
"Shō! Why aren't you more excited?" She whisper-yells as she grabs his shoulders and tries to shake him. In the back of her mind Izumi notes that he's put on a lot of muscle since the beginning of school.
"Shut up." Shōta growls at her.
Izumi huffs at him but let's go, and sit properly in her seat. She slips one of her headphones in her ear before she jams the other in Shōta's, before turning on her music.
"The fuck?" Shōta yelps and pulls away slightly. "Problem female."
Izumi ignores the grump beside her, and starts to tap her fingers on her thigh with the drum beat.
The ride passes with the music between the two, ten minutes in Shōta is leaning heavily against Izumi. His breaths are soft and deep.
Izumi takes the time to examine him. She had thought Shōta handsome when she was just his student, but the younger him hasn't yet gained the scruffy appearance that she had appreciated so much.
Younger Shōta had yet to have his constant five o'clock shadow, his hair wasn't yet as long, but his jaw was sharp and Izumi had always appreciated his high cheekbones.
Part of Izumi briefly wondered what her presents in his life was changing, she hoped it was for the better.
"Next stop, Maple station."
The speaker announced, Izumi jolted a little before she started shaking Shōta. "It's our stop."
Shōta's eyes popped open and he stared at Izumi for a moment before slowly sitting up, then standing and stumbling his way over to the train doors.
Izumi followed him with a little more grace, laughing to herself about his lack of balance.
Once off the train the two made their way through the warehouse district, Shōta looking at his phone for directions every few minutes.
When they arrived at their destination both looked at each other before Izumi pushed the door open. The inside of the area was brightly lit, right inside the doorway was racks to put your shoes on, they covered about five feet into the building where they then met with a tumbling mat that spread across the rest of the room.
There were doors that were spread around the room, Izumi guessed most were offices, two exceptions being the changing rooms.
Kicking off her shoes Izumi put them in a cubby and steps into the mat, without any warning she feels her body drop in a somersault leaving her case behind.
"The fuck!" Shōta exclaimed as he is wrapped in chains.
"EraserHead and….Huh?" Echos' around them, Izumi looks up into the rafters and spots a horned white haired man.
"Looper!" She squeals and jumps to her feet, dashing the few steps to Shōta and grabbing his bicep to stabilize herself as she jumps but to also jostle her friend. "Oh! My! God!"
The man laughs loud and booming. "Well at least one of you is excited and has some instincts." Looper says before Shōta is shooting out of her hands and towards the rafters, Looper uses him as a counter weight as he jumps down holding the other end of the chain.
"FUCK." Shōta actually screams as he's lifted in the air and then dropped when Looper let's go.
Izumi cant help herself, she's clutching her stomach as she laughs.
"Is there something other than 'Huh?' I can call you little lady?" Looper asks as he saunters towards her.
"Co-conf-confused." Izumi says having to restart twice because of her laughter.
"Care to explain?" The man asks, his eyebrow raised.
"My dad is Nezu, my little brother has red wings, I'm species confused." She tells him with a feral grin.
Looper snorts. "Alright."
Shōta had gotten himself untangled from the chain in the time of her exchange with Looper and stalked over with a glare.
"So, it's really rare that we send offers to take on students, it's even more rare when people accept. I am really excited to work with you both." Looper claps his hands. "First I want you to change into workout clothes, you are each gonna fight me quirkless, then with quirk, then with support gear."
Izumi looks at the man in excitement as she hops from foot to foot, once he makes shoo motions at them she grabs her case and takes off to get changed.
She's the first one back, she had been smart and wore her workout clothes under her school uniform so all she had to do was shed the layer, she skipped out of the changing room carrying her support gear case.
"Gotta wait for the other one, but before the spars I want to know three facts about you and him." Looper tells her. He's relaxed and seems like a happy man. Izumi mourns for Eri for loosening this man as a father.
When Shōta finally exits the changing rooms in loose sweats and a tank top, his capture scarf in his hands. He looks her over and looks a little shocked at her cycling shorts and double sports bra outfit.
She hears Looper short a laugh and looks at him in confusion. Sometimes males are so confusing.
"Right, Confused, give me three facts."
Izumi purses her lips before saying. "I'm adopted, I was abused, I will hurt you if you touch my chocolate."
Looper shakes his head at her. "EraserHead, three facts."
"I need coffee, I didn't sleep well, I want to sleep." Shōta says with his face completely blank.
"I'm married, my wife is the daughter of a Yakuza boss, I will kill you if you eat my apples." Looper tells them. "Confused, you're up first." He leads Izumi into the center of the room.
She relaxes herself and falls into a defensive stance, it doesn't take Looper long to charge her, he's quick to throw multiple punches, most of them Izumi redirects, very few hit their target.
Izumi is not in any way a tank, she's a hit and back off kind of fighter. Between one breath and the next Izumi is throwing herself backwards and rolling across the mat to get some space.
Next she's using a handspring to get back into Looper's space and using an axe kick and an elbow jab as she comes back down.
The half second it takes Looper to recover from her elbow to his diaphragm, Izumi is sliding between his legs and throwing herself into a handstand. Her feet catch Looper at the base of his skull, not hard enough to do any damage but it makes his head snap forward.
Izumi makes sure to keep in motion, she tries to evade or redirect anything Looper throws at her, it's a high kick that takes Izumi out, she had tried to redirect it but there was too much force, it knocks all the air from her lungs and slams her into the wall.
"Shit!" Looper yelps as she slides down the wall.
"Ow." Izumi groans a little. Shōta is already moving towards her, his eyes are wide and worried, he snatches up her hand and holds it.
"Shit!" Looper tells again as he runs over to start checking her over for broken bones and a concussion.
"'m fine, just, the wall could use some padding." Izumi tells him. She lets him worry and flutter around her until he's finished.
"Shit kid, sorry I forgot you were well...a kid, good fight." Looper apologizes and compliments. "EraserHead, can you carry her over to her water bottle, then you're on the mat with me."
Shōta is careful when he slides his arms under her, he carries her like a princess before setting her against the wall and putting her water in her hands.
"You really okay?" He asks softly, Izumi nods at him and flutters her hands to make him go fight the pro.
Shōta's fight is more of a one sided ass kicking, he's lost a lot of flexibility as he focused on building muscle. Izumi feels a little disappointed in him, but she shakes it off as Looper pins him on his stomach, arms awkwardly twisted behind him.
Looper let's him go after a count of ten, Shōta lays on the floor gasping for breath as Looper stands.
"Kay. Confusion, in weaponless quirkless fighting you don't need much, just some different opponents, bigger opponents, smaller opponents. EraserHead, you gotta work on some flexibility, you are not a tank, you need to be able to dodge and throw a hit at the same time, I suggest yoga, dance, gymnastics, anything really that will force you to bend a little." Izumi blushes a little at the lack of criticism, Shōta groans and slams his forehead on the mat.
"EraserHead, go relax. Confused, come spar with quirks." Izumi bounces over to Looper, she did her homework on the man, his quirk was a five point touch quirk that had the victim stuck in a thirty second loop in their mind, it lasted until they were jolted out with pain or half an hour had passed.
Izumi didn't move, her quirk let her work with electricity in the body, she had been working on it with volunteers in heroics class.
Izumi grabbed hold of the electric impulses sending messages to Loopers legs and arms, she stopped them and then pulled on the electricity she could feel humming in the building, picturing herself holding lime green whips in her hands Izumi pulled and then snapped her whips around Looper giving him small enough shocks that all they did was jolt his muscles.
"Huh, why didn't you use that more in the festival?" Looper asked her, after she let him go.
"Didn't have it under control yet, it's been a work in progress, it's hard to find people willing to let me play with the electricity in their body." Izumi answered.
"Oooookay, we have some crazies here that will probably help you." Looper tells her, he limps towards Shōta and drops to the ground. "You gotta wait kid, I need a moment to recover."
Izumi joins them, she's playing with her fingers before blurting. "Tell us about your wife?"
"Ari, well we got married right out of highschool to get her away from her family. Her quirk let's her renew plant life. So she opened a flower shop a few years ago. We are trying to have a kid, she wants a family so badly." Looper's face is soft.
"Ahhh, she sounds lovely! Can we meet her? Can we have your real name?" Izumi asks rapid fire.
"Eren, my mother was German. You'll most likely meet her, you were told you were going to be staying with us, yes?" Looper... Eren says to them.
"Oh right." Izumi tips her head to the side. "Ah, I'm sure you already know but he's Aizawa Shōta and I'm Nezu Izumi!" She chirps at the man with a wide smile.
"So bright." She hears the two men whisper.
"Okay. Your turn Aizawa." Eren says as he stands, Shōta follows with a groan.
Izumi again watches a one sided beat down, and sighs as Shōta is told he really needs some flexibility.
"Well, why aren't your weapons on yet?" Eren asks her as he walks over.
"Well…" Izumi hesitates and opens her case. "What weapon do you want me to wear?"
"Jesus kid, you getting ready to take on an army?" Eren asks with an edge of worry.
"No, uh, I like to have options." She says sheepishly and rubs the back of her neck.
"Fine, Aizawa is first, then we will do all yours but the grenades and guns separately then again together." Eren grumbles as he scoops up Shōta's scarf.
Shōta's third beat down goes better, but Izumi notes to herself to make him try her scarf after her spars, maybe the longer and wider material will be better.
"Go stretch and relax, I gotta take on the girly now." Eren says gruffly, Izumi can tell he's a little dissatisfied.
Izumi grabs her scarf and gloves before taking her place on the mat. She doesn't do as well as she had weaponless, she's taken down when she trips over her scarf on a landing.
Her brass knuckles are better, they give little shocks every time the metal grazes anything, she's happier with them than the scarf, maybe she should just ditch it and stick to her guns and electrokinesis for long range.
Fighting with knives has Izumi beat quickly, she had been too focused on the ones in Eren's hands that she missed when he threw one of them at her, it scratched her temple and Izumi called it her loss.
"Dad's had me in gun handling classes since he adopted me, I still go to the range every other week to keep sharp." She explains to Eren as she walks over to Shōta. "If you have one here I'm happy to demonstrate."
Shōta looks half asleep, he jumps a little when Izumi drops her scarf over his head. "Try this, it's similar to yours." She tells him.
Shōta hauls himself to his feet.
"So one tight grip around the fabric activates it and shuts it off. It has micro processors that are constantly scanning your body, so it knows your height and arm length once activated. Small movements are best." Izumi tells him.
Shōta grips the strips of fabric by his throat before flinging out his hand, the scarf shoots out and slaps Eren in the face, Shōta jerks his hand back and gets the same treatment.
"What part of small movements don't you get?" Izumi asks exasperated.
Shōta tries again, this time a small flick of his fingers, the scarf shoots out to a midway point. Shōta then makes a circle in the air and calls the scarf back, this time it thumps against his chest.
"It's yours, I didn't like how I worked with it. Support can make you gloves to help with control. I'll put in the transfer papers, and ask them to give me new gloves." Izumi tells him, Shōta just buried his face in the scarf, and Izumi is happy that the man finally has his iconic weapon.

Nezu did not know what to make of Bakugou Mitsuki, she was loud and very brash. Her choice of language annoyed him a little, he had to remind himself that even beings with foul language could be kind. The people who had experimented on him had such perfect manners and speech.
After suggesting that they start with measurements Nezu had followed the blonde woman to what looked like a fabric store had exploded in an office.
"Sorry, I forget sometimes that my language can be offensive." Mitsuki apologized once they were away from the others.
"It's quite alright." He says before adding on. "Izumi is just a little overprotective of the pup."
Mitsuki snorted. "Yeah. To be honest I don't remember her, but I've always had a horrid memory." She sighs. "Would you tell me about her, jog my memory?"
"Ah, Izumi said you wouldn't remember her too much." Nezu flaps his paws in a placating gesture.
"If you don't mind I can measure as you talk." Mitsuki waves her hand at a circular platform in the center of the room.
Nezu sheds his jacket and vest before hopping up. Mitsuki steps on a pedal that lifts the platform up to a comfortable height for her to measure him.
"When Izumi spoke about you she told me many things, from personal observations to stories about your time together." Nezu tells her as he spreads his arms out when directed.
"She told me how you would make her dresses to wear in the hospital, that they weren't always the best but that she had loved them because it showed you cared for her. She told me that she had kept all of them until the foster home she was placed in took all of her things except for two changes of under-things and what clothing she had arrived in." Nezu was glad that Izumi had mapped this out with him.
"Her favorite story to tell is when she had finally been released from the hospital she went shopping with you and Inko, that she had purchased a tee-shirt with the kanji for dress on it and that you cried every time she wore it. She said that you tried to help her many times to correct her fashion, it's still terrible by the way, I do all her clothes shopping." Nezu knows that most of the story is true, just that it had happened when the girl was actually thirteen the first time.
Mitsuki laughs and sniffles. "You're damn right I would cry." Her voice is wattery.
"She explained that after the death of her parents, after Inko refused to take her in because of her quirklessness, you tried to take her in but the courts refused." Nezu tells the story that Izumi told him would impact Mitsuki the most.
Mitsuki freezes, then she turns to the door and yells. "Masaru!"
She steps fully away from him and Nezu watches her sit on a large basket with her head in her hands.
"What's wrong?" The blond man blurts as he rushes over to his wife.
"I do believe that I have said something upsetting." Nezu says, injecting as much worry into his voice as he can.
"Take over please." Mitsuki whispers. "I just need to gather myself."
"Would you like me to tell you about her life just before and after I adopted her?" Nezu asks as Masaru starts his measurements from the beginning.
Mitsuki nods, still covering her face.
"I had found Izumi covered in blood and passed out on the street, the foster home had tried to kill her so she ran, due to the trauma and stress Izumi developed a quirk that is rather powerful. I took her to my home, and we started the adoption process right away. As we waited for the papers to go through I took her to a doctor, she was underweight, dehydrated, and had many lacerations and broken bones. Once the cuts and bones were healed I gave her a stack of tests from preschool to what university students take as their final exams just to see where her education was." Nezu couldn't stop the chuckle from escaping.
"She passed every test, the lowest score was ninety-eight percent for the university general studies final. I passed the tests onto the education board and they gave her diplomas for every test. I urged her to continue learning, in six months she had a quirk counseling license, in a year she had her teaching license, she now has her bachelor's degree in English, French, JSL, and ASL. Once she was fully physically fit she asked to take many lessons that would help her attain her goal of being a hero. This year, as she had met the minimum age requirement she applied to UA, where I teach. Izumi is a brilliant young lady, but she lacks a little in social skills just as I do." A grin spreads its way across Nezu's face.
"Keigo is a recent addition. As I am not human, the commission likes to monitor me. I bend the law a little and monitor them back. I found a program that I disagreed with, they had paid Keigo's parents to gain control over him. He was being put through training that I wouldn't even recommend to the most physically strong hero, they were brainwashing him and torturing him. I of course threatened them to leak all their dark secrets unless they made a deal with me." Nezu shares the additional information as a threat and as a way to offer support if it's ever needed.
Mitsuki takes a deep breath understanding what he's saying.
"Good." Her voice is hard, like she would expect nothing less.
Nezu grins at her, just a few too many teeth exposed, he gets a similar one in return.
Masaru coughs lightly. "All done, I'm guessing you want suits, sleepwear, and loungewear?" He says stepping away, his face soft but his eyes tell a story of a man with a steel spine.
"Please!" Nezu says as he claps his paws.
