"It's not fair!!" [Person A] yells, whirling around to face [Person B].
"It's not fair," they repeat, in a quieter voice, tears streaming down their face. "It's not fair that you get to walk around like nothing's happened while I'm stuck here picking up the pieces of the broken heart you shattered."

"If we ever get out of here-" [Person A] starts, leaning their head back against the wall.
"When we get out of here-" [Person B] immediately interrupts.
[Person A] smiles and tilts their head to look at [Person B]. "When we get out of here," they correct, "we're going to start over and do it all the right way. We're going to have our dream wedding with our family and friends surrounding us. We're going to buy a nice house on the coast with a big porch so we can watch the sunrise. We're going to have a few kids and watch them grow up and have children of their own. And then, when we're 65, we're going to retire and spend the rest of our lives traveling the world."
"Sounds lovely," [Person B] responds, ignoring the chaos around them in favor of leaning over to rest their head on [Person A's] shoulder. "I can't wait to grow old and spend the rest of our lives together."

"Make a bunch of money, buy a house in the hills, party all night...that's the dream, isn't it?
"Yes, but is it your dream?"

[Person A] walks up behind [Person B] and sits down beside them. "You let me go," they say, as a statement, not a question.
"Yes," [Person B] replies, unable to look [Person A] in the eyes.
There's a pause as both [Person A] and [Person B] don't say anything but continue to watch the sunset together.
[Person A] finally breaks the silence. "Why?" they ask.
[Person B] takes a deep breath before responding. "Because you were never mine to keep."

[Person A] frowns, sticking out their bottom lip in an over-exaggerated manner. "I hate you."
"No, you don't," [Person B] sing-songs, smirking.
