Susato/Rei (Great Ace Attorney)

post-canon | ft. gender exploration, dinner dates, and theaters of multiple types

in which Rei and Ryutaro go to the theater and get dinner afterwards (and then a reprise) OR, When they were children, chasing each other around the courtyard of Rei’s family home, Rei had been taller, had longer legs, and Susato was always running after her, calling for her to come back, to wait. And Rei had slowed down, because she wanted Susato to catch up so that she wasn’t left behind, teary-eyed at the perceived abandonment. But now Susato was so far ahead of Rei that she wasn’t sure she’d ever catch up. Ryutaro bought their noodles, because the assistant to the attorney tasked with reforming Japan’s legal system was better paid than a university research assistant—though not, it seemed, by much, if Naruhodo-san’s grumbling about paying the rent on the office was anything to go by—and Rei shook melting snowflakes out of her hair. If her cheeks were still flushed, she hoped Ryutaro would assume it was just due to the cold air outside.

Summary:

While in pursuit of a confectionery company for its crimes, Kay Faraday makes one tiny, itty-bitty, potentially love-life-destroying mistake: getting Snackoos discontinued. The good news is that Ema hasn’t broken up with her yet. The bad news is that Ema wants a new stress relief food, and Kay isn’t exactly comfortable endorsing her binge-eating. Their compromise? Kay teaches Ema how to make her own Snackoos from scratch.
